No, I am a waitress and work 6-8 hour shifts without reapplying. I came home after my shift, ate dinner and brushed my teeth and it there was still significant color on my lips. YSL is the brand to beat.

To begin, I must say that I hv a very sensitive nose, things others cant smell overwhelm me, even from far distances or a tiny amount of the offending scent or note, I get migraines, nausea, etc. so Im super careful about body, face, and especially lip products that I wear.
I have not noticed this scent or taste going bitter at all...but then again, I don't smell the "bad" scent that some others hv reported. All I smell is a lipstick/makeup-y smell that has that "high-end" whiff to it and that's ONLY if Im sniffing the actual stick. (I guess this l/s gets along w my sense of smell, or whatever...)
I do know what you're referring to w SPF containing products, but what I found was that the SPF makes the consistency a tad "oilier" which comes off a "creamy" but this also allows it to stay on longer. So, while I hv no scent issues, though, I do hv issues w it being compatible w other lip products. I wanted to wear a gloss w tiny blue flecks in it by Givenchy to highlight Le Fuschia "strategically..." but the warmth of my body had caused this lipstick to become so creamy that it kind ran/hung down my bottom lip, in what can only be described as a large thick, gooey tear!!! Embarrassing!! My mother had to let me know but she didnt until I had already looked idiotic.

If you went with a neutral eye it would be very dramatic. Why not? Neon is in this fall. I would keep your outfit monochromatic for extra effect.

I think it looks good on everyone due to it's beautiful shade. However, I believe it compliments medium/tan skin tones a little better.

I purchased lipstick thinking I was going to get a nice cranberry red as descibed on Sephora, it is not cranberry in any way. It is totally a bright brillant red as stated in other customers answer as well. TRUST ME!

No - it does not contain either ingredient. It's a wonderful red (and lipstick) - get it!

...went back to double-check the ingredients and did not find aolin listed either.

I tried Dior clear pencil, MUFE Perfecto and Urban Decay Ozone - on me, Urban Decay holds my YSL lipstick in place without feathering and the color lasts most of the day if I put pencil on my lips as primer. Although the pencil won't last long, it's cheaper to replace than the lipstick so I'm satisfied.

I would say yes. The only thing I would recommend if you are unsure of what would flatter you is to go to a makeup counter first before you purchase (Neimans has a good variety and they are also currently giving away samples of it in three different colors). It also really depends on what you are looking for.(i.e. a red, pink,etc) like for me because I have a really fair complexion, a red/orange (not TOO orange) looks good on me. I LOVE their glosses, and I do think that this lipstick is a good combination of both. I do like how it does not dry out your iips or feather. I do recommend a lip liner to maximize your result.
