Yes, I have used it successfully abroad. There's a little circle that you swivel with a coin to choose the appropriate voltage. Additionally, you will need a plug adaptor (not a voltage adaptor) for the country that you are visiting.

Yes, I tried it in England a few weeks ago. It works just fine, but isn't as strong as I need it to be. I use a turbo ion hairdryer at home that doesn't work in Europe even with my converter and adapter because it is too powerful. So this one does work but it is the equivalent to a hotel hairdryer strength. This makes my hair frizz and it takes too long to get my hair dry. It is nice and light though. Hope this helped you.
