Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia

Off the coast of Italy, the island of Pantelleria is a place where the deep blue-green Mediterranean Sea meets the sun and earth, creating a sense of happiness, serenity, and optimism. This fresh, aquatic fragrance, whose name means, "water of joy," captures the simple happiness one can experience at this extraordinary destination. The fragrance's top notes rise like a soft sea breeze, bringing forward a sensual blend of cool mint, warm brown sugar, and the zest of Italian lemon. Next, the heart notes emerge with beautiful floral hints of jasmine, dew of peony, and traces of pink pepper. The base lingers on a uniquely Mediterranean trail of cedar wood and the complex, herbaceous accords of labdanum.Notes:Mint, Brown Sugar, Lemon, Jasmine, Peony, Pink Pepper, Cedar Wood, Labdanum.Style:Joyous. Aquatic.

Questions & Answers for Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia

Question
Is this the same as the women's Acqua di Gio?
I seriously hope that this is the same product, just renamed, because I've worn Gio for years, and will DIE if it's been discontinued.

Nope this is a new fragrance.. A flanker off of Acqua di Gio. You can certainly still find Acqua di Gio in stores, as it is a classic and I doubt it'll go away.

Aqua di Gio was my signature scent for a long time and I was devastated for when they discontinued it. Aqua di Gioa is new and different but I really like it. The scent is pretty different from Aqua di Gio but I decided to give it a try and it is still pretty nice.

This is actually the female version of Gio. Gio is the Men's fragrance. Nothing wrong with a female wearing a little dab of cologne!

Question
Is this similar to Aqua di Gio?
Could anyone tell me if this is similar to the men's cologne? I love that cologne, it smells great on practically every guy I've ever known to wear it. I could smell it all day! Have any of you compared the men's version to this women's perfume version? I wouldn't mind having something similar to wear for myself!

It is only similar in that it has cool marine notes in it and it is a fresh, clean smell. The smell is really not that similar. The men's version is much stronger and actually sweeter. In my opinin, Goia smells like Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden.

I LOVE the men's Acqua di Gio and often thought of buying it for myself. If you like that, try the Acqua di Gioia. It is NOT the same fragrance, it is more floral. The Men's fragrance is more citrusy. Frankly, I think men or women could wear the men's fragrance. (Yet it's manly on a man!)

I would definitely consider them similar. This one is not overly girly (I am becoming nauseated by Viva La Juicy and it's knock-offs) nor is it recognizably masculine. If you like Acqua di Gio (and who doesn't, really?) this is a nice ladie's version. It's just a pleasant, clean fragrance overall.

Yes, it's quite similar, but more feminine, of course! My husband wears Acqua di Gio Men's and it's his and my favorite on him. This is my new fave for me (plus, he likes it too!)

Question
Long lasting?
I bought this perfume because I sprayed it on my sweater, went home and could NOT stop smelling my sweater. After I bought it though, it did not last on my skin for longer than 30 minutes (no joke). I also used the lotion AND roller ball and it still didnt last. I'm just really confused because I see so many reviews of it lasting a long time and I just wanted some advice. However I already know about pulse points and stuff like that. I really really want to love this perfume and get compliments.

I roll it on one wrist starting at my wrist and roll it for 4-6 inches toward my elbow. That's all I use and I can smell it for hours. Perhaps roll it on both wrists or perhaps roll it on your neck.

I'm sorry it doesn't seem to last long for you. Maybe you can try putting some petroleum jelly on the spot you want to spray the fragrance on. This method seems to work for me for fragrances that do not have a good longevity factor. Anyways, good luck dear.

Some perfumes that last a long time on some people just don't last as long for others, unfortunately. Acqua di Gioia lasts ages on me, but that doesn't mean it will on you.

I admit to overspraying because it does seem to not last...BUT what I think happens is that it doesn't last for the wearer because we get used to it. I get compliments long after I think the fragrance has faded.
