Questions & Answers for Korres Quercetin & Oak Antiageing & Antiwrinkle Face Serum

Question
Do you need to be extra careful in the sun with this product like with real retinol product?
Just wondering since this product says it uses a natural alternative to retinol if you would still need to be extra careful in the sun?

Yes you should. Your skin can become more sensitive because the layers of skin are coming up faster and they can be more sensitive. You should wear a sunscreen everyday, reguardless if you are inside or out. Indoor lights can cause just as much sun damage to the skin! And remember to reapply the sunscreen every two hours as it expires just like when you go to the beach!

I don't think so. It seems to me that it works more by softening your skin than by peeling layers off, so it's a little different.

I've not seen any negative changes due to sun exposure with this product. It is wintertime and I've only used it for a few weeks. My guess would be no, that it does not act like a typical retinol, but I tend to be careful in the sun year- round. I have used retinol products in the past and this product is far less irritating, but still effective.

You should always use a good sunscreen regardless of the products you use. Sunscreen used in foundation does not really provide enough protection.
My derm. has told me that a sunscreen is a must with retinol products.
If you want great skin, do not take a chance.

Use with Differin
I use Differin cream, do I put the serum on before or after Differin?

You should put this on before your Differin cream! General rule of thumb is that serums always go first(after cleanser and toner of course). Always go thinnest to thickest as well!

answer 2
Serums are meant for fast absorption, so I would say before your differin regimen, or at very least make it one of the first products that hits your clean skin. Your skin does have a saturation level, and after other moisturizers or creams the serum will not absorb as well, making it less effective. Also check the ingredients, and fine print on your acne treatment to make sure that combining the two products has no adverse reactions or side effects.

TL;DR: It's better to use first unless there's some reason not to.

I'm no expert, but I would think you'd put it on afterwards. Since Differin acts as an exfoliant, it makes sense to do it first, then add the serum afterwards so it can stay on the skin.

I have been using the Differin afterwards since the Differin can be a little harsh.

This product is great for oily skin! It will not make you more oily, and may even make you less oily. It acts in a way that retinol does in that it speeds up cell turnover, so new layers of skin are coming to the surface faster. This normally results in less oil production.

I have very sensitive, acne prone skin and I've been using this for two weeks. I love it!!! I've actually been using the entire oak regimen, and my skin has never been better, at least not since I was 10! My acne has mostly cleared up, and my skin is amazingly soft and smooth. I am a hard-core Korres convert now.

I have combination skin with oily skin in the Tzone. This product is light textured and a little goes a long way. Overall my skin is smoother and healthier overall. It did not aggravate the oily areas.

You can use the serum with, or in place of day cream. It actually increases the effectiveness of moisturizers.

You will get much added benefit by using the moisturizer with this product! If you are dry you definitly need to use a moisturizer, if you are oily you might be okay wearing the serum alone!

Question
Defected item??
After using a trial, I bought a full sized serum and eye cream in a box. I thought my serum had a pump, it is not actually a pump. Is this how this is or is this a defected item??
Please let me know ASAP so if it is a defected item, I want to exchange. Thanks.

Sorry for any confusion! This face serum is air vacuumed so no pump is included. I recommend pumping the serum about 5-10 times to see if the product is coming out. If that doesn't work, please contact your local Sephora to confirm availability so you could exchange it or get a refund. I hope this helps.

Question
Should this be used wtih Quercetin & Oak Antiaging Antiwrinkle & Firming night cream?
I'm 31 and have adult acne and sensitive skin. Currently living in a frigid climate after moving from a humid one my skin is freaking out. I want to use a serum but am confused as to if you can mix and match serums with night moisturizers.

I currently use the pomegranate day and night balancing cream by korres but I'm afraid I don't have enough hydration (especially in winter) yet still have acne.

BTW- anyone used the Murad acne and anti-wrinkle serum? Any combo with heavier wrinkle creams work for both acne and firming/skin radiance?

serums should help your moisturizers work better, they help it get deeper into your skin. So I would def keep using the serum with their moisturizers on top. Their Greek yogurt sleeping facial really helped me with my winter skin, if you feel like you need more hydration that might help too.

I use the serum with the Quercetin & Oak Mattifying Lotion as the night cream is too heavy for my oily/combination skin. I tend to breakout easily.

Twice daily I rub this between my palms and press a pumps worth on to my entire face, eyelid included. I have not had any adverse reactions. The eye cream on the other hand, I have to be careful with. If it gets in my eyes it burns.

Yes, this serum works well on the neck. I am much older than you are and I am sure my neck lines are deeper than yours, but I have seen softening of these lines in the six months I have been using the product.
