Questions & Answers for Living Proof Full Shampoo

Question
Will this fade color treated hair (specifically dark brown)?
I have a very rich dark brown color and I'm always trying to avoid fading. I know most volume shampoos strip to some degree, but some are worse than others. Anyone know if this is an offender?

The product labeling indicates it is sulfate free and safe for hair that has color, however every person is different. Maybe small sample that you can test on a portion of your hair to see if any color is removed would be the best way to go.

I am a brunette who enhances her hair with color and have found that Living Proof does not strip the color and states it is safe for color treated hair (as its sulfate free). If you are super concerned about lightening, might I recommend a shower head filter? You can get one at a major hardware store (the big ones) and it installs pretty easily. I live in a city with very chlorinated water and this has helped keep my color bright.

I agree, all shampoos will eventually fade color, but this one gives me better results than I've had with others, and leaves a really nice shine. I use it daily.

I don't have dark brown hair, but I have not noticed it dulling my color. It has no sulfates and I try to stay away from shampoos that have those because they do seem to dull my hair color.

I have to color my hair as my roots are becoming gray, and the rest of my hair (red) has been "fading" as I've gone through "the change". I have found all the LIving Proof products to be very gentle with my hair, and it doesn't appear to strip or "oxidize" my red hair. I imagine that a rich brown color would be pretty much the same. The major offender, is the SUN! I like to cover my hair with a hat or baseball cap when I'm at the beach or somewhere the sun is intense.

I think the trick is to get a product that specifically won't fade your color. I don't think this shampoo keeps the color any more than any other shampoo for color treated hair. If you really want something to keep your color, I would recommend pureology.

I have dark brown treated hair and I do not think that this line strips color. Sulfates are the big offender and this product is free of them

Question
Use this shampoo with dandruff?
Will this help with the problem of dandruff or can I use it interspersing with my dandruff shampoo? I have dry hair with dandruff but still my fine hair is flat as can be.

I can't say for sure, but I would recommend purchasing the travel sizes and try alternating you use of your dandruff shampoo with this product. My scalp is very easily irritated, but the Living Proof products have not caused me any scalp irritation whatsoever. My scalp is oily and gets little itchy spots, but both issues have gone away since I've started using it.

I just posted my comments on the shampoo and the rest of the Full line. I wouldn't recommend using it if you already have dry scalp. I have used it for a week (with no prior issues with dry scalp), and now I have huge flakes and a dry, itchy scalp. If you decide to use it, I would use it a few times a week and go from there.

If you have fine DRY hair don't buy this. I would try another shampoo for fine hair. WEN Lavender cleansing or COLURE for chemically treated hair. I have a lot of fine hair. never really looks dull or flat, but this shampoo dried my hair out.

You might have dry scalp. The skin on your head is like your face. If your not using a quality healing conditioner because you have limp hair and your afraid to weigh it down-you need to treat it. I would try using this shampoo and conditioner-with a scalp treatment. This does not way your hair down and it's full of quality.

I don't believe it will help with dandruff, but you could try interspersing. I felt the product made my fine hair flyaway, but not flat at least. I bought the conditioner too. Did not feel it did enough to help with tangles.

I wouldn't recommend it for treating dandruff only because it doesn't have any agents in it that would soothe your scalp like a normal dandruff shampoo would.

Yes, the shampoo is sulfate -free which I guess is the main culprit in stripping hair color. I have tried many shampoos and many of them strip color within a week of use! This does not. My hair color lasts a little closer to the recommended touch-up time of 4 - 6 weeks.

My hair is highlighted light blond and this shampoo does not strip the color from my hair. I think it actually enhances the way the color look and how long it lasts b/c it is not as harsh as most shampoos.

I tried to do a little researching regarding this since I prefer organic, vegan, non-animal tested products/food. LivingProof has stated that they do not test their products on animals. If you are looking for a purely vegan product, I cannot assure you that this line fits the bill. As for animal testing, it seems like we are safe there.

I tried to do a little researching regarding this since I prefer organic, vegan, non-animal tested products/food. They are not overly clear about their stance regarding the vegan aspect, leading me to believe they are probably not vegan, however they have stated that they do not test their products on animals. If you are looking for a purely vegan product, I cannot assure you that this line fits the bill. As for animal testing, it seems like we are safe there.
