Not a dry, matte look. Gives a wonderful dewy, moist look to the skin, but definitely not sparkly or glittery. Believe me, I run from that look!

answer 4
No sparkles or glitter at all. The "dewy look" comes from the intense hydration. Very natural.

answer 5
Neither sparkly or glittery. It imparts a natural, dewy glow...it is a very emollient tinted moisturizer cream. If you set it with powder, it would'nt be too dewy if you don't like that finish.

answer 6
It has neither a glittery or shimmery look. It's more of a natural dewey look, that is typical with most Bobbi Brown foundations. Topping it with a powder makes the skin look so good!

it can be a little of both just be careful when applying. you will not need to use alot. if you apply some powder after that helps to calm it down and you still will look great.

Using it every day--at least 6 months or more! You really don't need a lot to get wonderful coverage. The jar looks small, but actually holds quite a lot.

i would go with light, but remember, this is a tint so it may not cover all of the red undertones. you may need a concealer or powder on top.

I wear Sand in Bobbi Brown foundations, and I wear LIght in BE. I was told by a BB makeup artist on their website that Bobbi recommends Extra Light in the Extra Tinted Moisturizing Balm for those who wear Sand in her foundations. Hope this is helpful!

I use my clean fingers. A makeup sponge would work well too.

With a brush, using your fingers to blend. This will help keep the product sanitary in the jar, and prevent breakouts caused from contamination.

answer 4
The best way for me ( also shown at BB counter) is to rub it between your finger tips ( need to warm it up as it is thick), and apply like you would any other face lotion / cream. I wouldn't usea brush as it is thick, and I wouldn't use a sponge as it can soak up alot of product depsite it being thick. After you applied this to your face, softly press your face with fingertips to really adhere the product to your skin so it looks like skin
( got this tip from BB counter as well). I use this method and have had wonderful results. I love this product!

answer 1
it is sheer. i think for most people it has enough coverage, but if you have a lot of discoloration you may want to use a good concealer over the tint. or, you can buy the bobbi foundation stick, but both products would be quit an investment.

Very sheer. Enough coverage to even out skin tone, but not enough to cover freckles, hyperpigmentation, etc.

answer 4
The coverage is light, but really does reduce redness and evens out skintone very well. Better than any other tinted poisturizer I have tried
( have tried a million...lol). Doesn't exactly cover blemishes, but when set with powder and maybe a lil concealer for blemishes, this stuff is gr8. It also makes a gr8 foundation base as it is a 3-in-1 product: moisturizer, SPF, & primer.

this is great for very dry skin but i dont know about the acne. it may really add problems because it has so much moisture. you may want to try Pro Active. I have been using this for years and it is the only thing that works on my acne. one you get your acne under control, you can use almost any tint on your skin.

If you use AHA/BHA products and retinoids, these will definitely dry out your skin. That's what happened to me, and I use this daily without any breakouts. The trick is to use just a tiny bit. A dime-sized amount should be enough for your whole face. Any more, and it might be too heavy for you.

I don't know what is aggravating your skin, which is causing the acne. I wouldn't suggest a topical makeup over foundation which can irritate your skin even more.

Then again, I had excema before this foundation and I found that this was the only calming foundation for my sensitive skin.

You can give it a go... ask for a sample or even take advantage of Sephora's awesome return/exchange policy!

this is a tinted moisturizer. not as heavy as a foundation but if your skin is in pretty good shape, you can use this as a foundation. it is in a jar because it is a pretty thick moisturizer. it is really for people with really dry skin.

It is a very moisturizing tinted moisturizer. I wear it alone (always with concealer for me, though!) on weekends. If I want more coverage while will looking natural (i.e., for the office), I mix a small dab of Laura Mercier's hydrating primer with a small dab of TMB in my palm, apply to my face, then apply concealer under my eyes. After 2-3 minutes (good time to apply eye makeup), I very lightly brush Smashbox Halo over my face. That combo is complexion perfection for me and it lasts all day...(I have dry skin).

Question
What kind or finish does this have?
I'd like to try this product, but I'm not sure how the finish would look on me. It says it gives skin a "dewy look," but I'm not sure that would look good on me. I don't mind a tinted moisturizer that has coverage that is natural-looking rather than totally matte, but I definitely don't want anything shiny. So what exactly does this look like on? (If anyone is willing to share a picture of how this product looks, I would greatly appriciate it!) Also, is there a way I could make the finish more matte, like with a translucent powder? Thanks in advance! :)

Looks like clean skin; if you want a matte finish, I suggest a light powder atop. Personally I combine this product with Smashbox Halo for a "polished" look and use the balm alone for an everyday option.

If you don't want a shiny/greasy/slick/sticky finish, I'd definitely avoid this product. It also offers very little coverage. I do love the smell (fresh and clean) and wanted to love the product, but it was not for me. And I do NOT have oily skin. If anything, it's dry, so I thought this would be great. But too much is too much.

Light to Medium Tint, defenitely. Both my sister and I use this shade (she is fairer than I with green eyes) and we are each between a medium and light olive skin tone with yellow undertones. She has freckles, I do not. Looks fantastic either way.

light/med or med. if you go too dark, this can go orange because it is yellow based, but it blends easily so if it is a little dark you can just blend more. it is a tint so color doesnt have to match exactly.
