Definitely matte. But you could use the Nectar Shimmer Brick with it if shimmer is what you prefer.

Question
Using blush
I have been reading that make-up artists always use 2 shades of blush to make your cheeks more natural looking. Has anyone tried this or is it "overkill". If you have tried this which 2 of the rose shades would you recommend? I am medium complected, hazel eyes and hair in the red spectrum.

I think a very luminous and somewhat subtle bronzer with a hint of a pinkish blush over it just on the puffy part of the cheeks (when you smile).

Yes. It works. Use a brownish shade of blush or bronzer then top the apple of your cheeks with a brighter color. You will look happy and fresh!

Well I use a bronzer and a blush and that seems to work perfect for me.

I have done this in the past - I used desert rose blush from BB and a coral color from another manufacturer. My skin is quite fair but I have very dark eyes and hair and I really liked the effect. You may want to consider one of the shimmer bricks over a rose colored blush. Right now I am using Blissful from Tarte with Nectar shimmer brick overtop. They are more peach than rose, but maybe this is helpful. Good luck.

No but buy a good one. Streaky blush from a bad brush is hard to recover from!

Ca;; BB/ They are really helpful. For red hair, perhaps nude peach something a bit browner but maybe desert rose as that is soft as well

Go online to Bobbi Browns site and its got some girls on there. All shades, skin and hair and you can find one similar and it'll have the list of make up shades on them. Its how I found my perfect shade of blush. :)

Although I do not know the technical answer, I would recommend Desert Rose (I own and love) or even the color Nude Pink (haven't tried this color), as they both appear to be a soft pink, though one is a very very slightly brown dusty tone, while the other is a purer, truer pink.

I'm not familiar with Soft Pink, but I have Pretty Pink and it a soft, warm pink with a touch of peach. Very soft and natural looking unlike some of the colors Sephora sells, like Pale Pink and Apricot.

I've never broken out from this blush, and I have sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. Actually, when I started using Bobbi Brown makeup, my skin cleared up. I have to buy the oil free foundation of course, but I don't think you will have a problem with this.

For safety you should try it out on a small part of your skin, like the underside of your wrist or part of your jaw.

For me though- I'm very acne prone and have extremely sensitive skin. This blush, granted i place it on top of a powder, has never given any troubles. I hope that helps!

I think a cobalt blue or even an eggplant works great and intensifies the eyes. I actually wear a metallic purple (I know it sounds ugly) but I have brown and greenish blue in my eyes and pretty full upper lids so I need the darkness of the shadow to be deep enough yet browns just look so mousy and boring so I think a deep eggplant color maybe with a brown undertone (or vice versa). try it out at the store before - its hard to decide if you dont.

I would try shadows in the gray color family, a light shimmery gray during the day and a slate gray at night. Stila has some amazing colors, and I believe Clinique has a grayish brown liner pencil which is wonderful too. The gray color family would make your eye color pop but still be very subtle.

The desert rose is very lovely; natural. I use no foundation, minimal make up but want some color in my face (its blahhh winter). I sometimes blend this with a bit of sheer natural brown blush to mute it futher if I have too much on my face. It is sheer, very pretty, pigmented but not a POP WoooW look at my cheeks blush. Very sheer muted would work with most skin colors.

Go with Apricot-it looks really bright but it goes on light and you can build up the intensity.
