Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15

Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15

What it is:An oil-free, all-day-wear foundation for soft-matte, even-looking skin. What it does:Bobbi's soft-matte "sequel" to the (now discontinued) Oil-Free Finish Foundation. The sponge-like powders absorb excess oil on the surface of the skin so you won't have to reapply powder throughout the day. The emollients lock in moisture to ensure skin remains perfectly balanced, and the transfer-resistant formula helps create a barrier against heat and humidity for eight hours of wear so makeup stays in place. What else you need to know:Light to medium coverage. For all skin types.

Questions & Answers for Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15

Question
My skin tone is rather pale with yellow undertones. My eyes are brown and have blonde hair (for the time being anyway).
Which shade of Bobbi Brown foundation would you recommend? I thought the Beige #3 might work for me but am not sure. Can you help?

The Beige is for more of a light to medium skin tone... if you are truly fair complected, you would want to go with Warm Ivory, Porcelain, or Alabaster.

I like shade 4, natural, the best. I'm pale and olive so i find that this blends in the best.

I don't exactly know when it will be in stores, but you can usually visit a Bobbi Brown counter in the mall somewhere or buy it from another store that sells it. I hope this helps :)

Bobbi did formulate this foundation for an oily skin type. I have very oily skin, and this holds up pretty well, but I do recommend using an oil control primer underneath as well. This is oil free, so you shouldn't have problems with it breaking you out... however it does not give a lot of coverage, so if you have acne that you are trying to cover, this is a great base, but I would get the Bobbi face touch up stick for spot coverage on top. Definitely set with powder :)

Hi there,
I have a very oily t-zone and a tendency to break out, and I have not experienced any irritation or clogged pores with this.
I *do* need to blot my nose once during the day and sort of "smooth out" the product around my nose, but overall, this does hold up quite well.
Hope that helps!
Respectfully submitted,

I have oily acne prone skin and this does not cause breakouts. With other foundations...my face is usually shiny about an hour after I apply my makeup and I need to touch up or blot my face. I don't have to blot or touch up my makeup with this until about 5-6 hours later - if at all. I set this with BB's loose powder or Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder. I also love BB's Tinted Moisturizer. Love, Love, Love BB's products...I am always getting compliments on my skin and most people can't tell that I am wearing foundation - I even fooled a makeup artist at the MAC counter.

Question
How does it compare to Este Lauders Double Wear foundation?
I currently own EL Double Wear foundation and I LOVE it because I am SUPER oily and it stays flawless for 10+ hours without blotting and it wont rub off at all. I can even sleep fall asleep in it (not good) and wake up with it still looking flawless. The PROBLEM with Double Wear is that it looks awful in pictures. I mean my skin looks great but it shows up like a pale mask. It doesn't look that way in natural lighting. Just wondering if Bobby Brown is any better?

It's WONDERFUL! Use the Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation along with the Natural Finish for extra coverage and for photography. Sephora doesn't carry the compact foundation currently but hopefully soon. Macy's has it. The loose powder also keeps it put.

It shows up pale in pictures because it has sunscreen in it. Since Natural Finish also has sunscreen, it probably won't be any better in photos. There may be an improvement since it isn't a full coverage foundation, and therefore your skin shows through more, but the problem wouldn't be entirely resolved. To get the most natural looking outcome in photos, choose a foundation with no sunscreen.

Question
warm ivory or sand
At first I thought that the color tend to be darker as the number goes up, but when I see the color on the website, it seems to me that Sand 2 is more lighter than warm ivory? Am I right? Or just because ivory and sand have different undertone? If I have yellow undertone, which one should I choose?

My thought would be sand. I have yellow undertones and the woman at the makeup counter gave me soft sand as my finishing powder. So logically that should be the one meant for yellow undertones.

I've found that going by computer screen colors just doesn't work. I am usually warm ivory in other BB foundations, but this one runs a shade LIGHTER. I am SAND in this formula. Apparently, BB yellow based formulas are what differentiates her foundations from others. What I have found are all the colors in and of themselves are GORGEOUS which is half the battle--never orangey or too pinky. I could have gotten away with the WARM IVORY, because the product is somewhat sheer (but still covers) but SAND is a better match. Hope this helps.

All of Bobbi's foundations have yellow tones, it's kind of her thing. For more pink toned options, I suggest MUFE foundations.

If you are close to a Holt Renfrew store they carry them there. Not sure where you live but I've bought it in TO several years ago,
I haven't checked Sephora stores here in BC, but most likely they don't carry them (everything is always first in Ontario!) ;-)

The best thing to do is to speak with a BB rep or a makeup artist knowledgeable about the line. When I was trying testers of this, I used my YSL foundation as a color-match reference. Doing that almost screwed me because a rep saw me and told me that the BB Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation changes color as it warms to your skin's temperature. So a shade that looked too light to be right for me actually was. Because after it warmed, it darkened. If you don't have a Sephora near you or if the Sephora near you doesn't carry BB in store, try a department store like Nordstrom or Bloomingdales; they'll have a BB counter.
