Well it does have some shimmer, and on more mature skin it may look a bit garish. I suggest you use a matte bronzer instead to contour.

I think that it works good on my checks and chin/neck area. It is not super dark though. You may want a darker bronzer. This is fantastic though for all over complexion and glow. --and great for the eyes! I actually use an eyeliner brush and use it as eyeliner.

The Shimmer brick is very shimmery(as the name indicates :) ) and can make fine line and pores very obvious if applied too much bit I am not sure if it gives the slimming effect to the face because it has way too much shimmer , for the purpose of contouring usually a bronzer with less shimmers are better.Nars Laguna is a great product for that purpose and if you wand something similar to this then Diors Amber light is an excellent product.

This is definitely not a product for contouring your face because of the shimmer. The shimmer is soft if you apply it correctly with a light hand. It can get overly shimmery and unflattering if you apply too much. With that said, to build enough color to slim your face, you'll likely end up building up too much shimmer. I don't think this will help slim your face, but it will add a youthful glow if you add the right amount to your cheeks.

yes, this has a bronzing effect. No, it doesn't have TOO much shimmer, and no chuky glitter. If you contour you face correctly, this will not emphasize wrinkles. Hope this helps :)

Question
Can you make the bronze shimmer brick work with fair skin??
I just purchased the bronze shimmer brick, but I am worried it is too dark for my skin tone. It was expensive, so I want to make it work. Any tips?

Yes you can, make sure to blend well. This works with light skin to medium well and works well as a highlighter with dark skin.

I'm pretty fair myself and it looks great. Just make sure to not only put it on your cheeks, but also down your jawbone, hairline and nose (a tip I got from a Chanel video they used to have online); this way it'll look like you got a tan, not put put make-up on.

I have light skin and what I do is apply my foundation then I apply the shimmer brick as a bronzer using a large brush. If you don't like the results, you can always use this as an eyeshadow. I use it as both.

Yes, you can. I like to use a smaller brush when using as a highlight under my eyebrows. It even looks nice in the corner of your inner eye to accent as well.

Question
bronzers
Please recommend a bronzer for black skin. I have an olive/yellow complexion. Slightly darker than Halle Berry and lighter than Queen Latifa. I ran out of the Dior bronzer that you only offer at limited times. Please recommend something. I purchased the Dior bronzer/one color, but I am not that fond of it. I prefer the different shades, but everything I see has been purchased by fair or medium skin tones. Thanks a much!

I love the nars bronzer. I think it looks great on olive skin tones. It's light so you wont look fake, but enought to give you that sun kissed glow. If you havn't tried the nars bronzer, i'd give it a shot!

Can you use this as a contouring blush?
Or a regular blush? Is it too shimmery for either job? (I have medium skin with yellow undertones, brown eyes, and black hair.)

I would say no. If you want to contour, I would suggest a matte bronzer. This is excellant for highlighting...ie: cheekbones, bridge of nose, and forehead. Hope this helps. = )

I'm not sure if oil is listed on the ingredients, but I usually have issues with products that contain oil due to my oily (and acne prone) complexion. This product has not caused any breakouts or anything for me.

it depends on what look you are after. if you want it to accentuate your blush, buy rose; if you want it to accentuate your bronzer buy bronze. i have fair ruddy skin (nw 20-25, diorskin cameo 022, guerlain rose clair, MUFE HD 118) and they both work absolutely beautifully when used as directed: swept onto the cheekbone (maybe down the bridge of nose, etc). oh and if you're going to double this as an eyeshadow and only want to buy one i recommend bronze as i am not a huge fan of pink eyeshadow.

So the strips of colors are really skinny...
Is it hard to get out the separate colors you want for highlighting, bronzing, and blushing? And what brushes do you use?

I think you could certainly use a skinnier brush, but i think if you want a product that is more for contouring, you should choose something else - Nars has a good contouring set. This product is really meant for the blending of that shades, which really lends a more natural look in my opinion when using a powder or bronzing brush swept over the cheeks and nose bridge.

I used Sephora's Powder Brush #59 when I use this as a face highlighter. I use Sephora Shadow brush #12 when I use it as an eyeshadow. I don't have any problems using the colors individually or together.

You should buy the Shimmer Bronze. I have both that shade as well as the Rose, but i too have lighter skin and i can barely see the Rose, i think that shade is better suited for darker skin tones.
