The first ingredient listed is talc. I have had other powders look cakey on me, too, but this one does not.

Yes it does contain talc but it really does not look cakey or greyish at all. It's really a pretty amazing product and also you can put it on lightly and slowly to build your coverage. The only thing is if possible I would get a color match at Bobbi brown if you have one. Worth the money!

Question
face powder
Is the bobbi brown face powder in the white really white or does that just mean translucent with no color at all because I am looking for no color.

It's really white, but if you have fair skin don't be afraid of it. It does look a little white on my skin at first, but it quickly disappears into my skin and gives a perfect, matte, oil-controlling finish to my BB porcelain shade foundation and concealer. I'm VERY glad I gave it a chance. Use it a little sparingly and it's an excellent product.

I am fair and went to the counter the other day and the lady suggested soft sand and the color is perfect

these are translucent so you won't get much coverage out of this powder. if you are looking for coverage, there is a powder foundation (and you should get matched). pale yellow should be fine if you are a light complexion. soft sand may turn a little dark if you get oily or sweaty :-)

Thought I would also add, the powder foundation is more on the powder side. It's not creamy. It would be your best bet.

Try her powder foundation. This powder will not give any coverage. I love that it is very fine powder, so it sets make up well without looking cakey, but it doesn't get rid of shine too well.

The safest color to go with is the white. Just make sure you use a feathery brush and a light layer. It should look translucent.

I also wear Warm Sand 2.5 and find that Pale Yellow is very nice! In fact, I was using Soft Sand sheer pressed powder, which was just fine, to the Pale Yellow. The Pale Yellow is brightening!
