I use this product every other night since it's extra strength. You should use this product at night because the ingredient (retinol) makes your skin more susceptible to the sun so you should always use sunblock when using this product. (It states that on the box) Here's a quote from a dr. "retinol encourages skin cell turnover; this new skin is delicate and should not be exposed to the sun." If you use this product in the day and don't apply sunblock, you can actually make skin age faster because it is more susceptible to the sun. Hope this helps.

I started with the sample packet of the Alpha Beta peel and the extra strength and it says on the package to use in the morning as well as the evening.
I used it 2 times a day for a whole month and found the best results with using it as directed. Since it cost so much and you go through it so quickly I have now switched to just once a day and I find that it is still working very well.
I think if you did it only once a week you wouldn't see the results that you should be seeing.

You use both steps everytime you use the peel. Use the first pad, wait a couple minutes, and use the second pad. I use the pads until they are practically dry. I also use it every other night, because I find it to be a little sticky afterwards - not very good for makeup application.

If used everyother day at night, following with a nice lotion, you should see results pretty fast :)

it's only to be used once daily, whether am or pm, just make sure you are using sunscreen every single day to prevent pigmentation on the skin from the sun. if daily use is too much for your skin you can do every other day or just a few times a week. there are 30 treatments so it should last a month if used daily, longer if used more sporadically.

These are the extra strength peel pads, so if you are using AHA products for the first time, I would start by using these every other day or every third day. You'll know if you're using them too often, because if you are you'll get small dry patches of flaky skin. However, if your skin is used to AHAs, you can use them every day. I generally leave Step 1 on until it starts to sting around my nose or until I get some redness, because my skin is pretty used to it. Then I neutralize.

I use these in the morning after washing since I use a retinol cream at night, but you can do either day or night. Just make sure you're using sunscreen in the daytime, since this will definitely make you more prone to sunburn (it's worth it though). You use the step 1 pad, wait, then follow it up with step 2 - you have to use both pads each time you apply or it won't work properly. Thus, even though there are 60 pads altogether, there are 30 applications. If you're using them every day, they will last you a month... but more likely you'll use them every other day, which will give you a good 2 months' supply. They last a long time so you don't have to worry about using them up fast.

The only thing you should ask yourself before buying is: does it bother you to let a wet product dry on your face? The neutralizing pads are quite wet. The results with this product are great, but ultimately I switched to another AHA peel because I wanted to rinse after I used it. You may want to mosey into Sephora and try one out in-store, since there's no sink or water needed with this product.

Hope this helps! And remember: Sephora has a 100% satisfaction policy. :-)

It can cause breakouts in the same way that microdermabrasion and professional peels can. Basically stripping off the top layer of your skin opens up the newly revealed top layer, making it more susceptible to bacteria. However, you can lower your risk of a breakout by being extra hygienic-- wash your bedding so you're not laying on dirty pillow cases at night, don't touch your face without washing your hands, and be cautious about excessive sweating while using the product.

I actually started using this because of my acne prone skin. I have super sensitive but acne prone skin that is generally oily, but gets super dry with the wrong products, and this has helped SO MUCH. My skin tone and clarity has improved ten fold. I actually stopped using this for a while because of how expensive it is, and my skin started to rebel. I repurchased about a week ago and already the results have been awesome (again!) Everyone's skin is different, but I would recommend you try it.

I use it on my face, neck, chest AND hands!!! There is plenty of the product to do so and I've seen awesome results on my hands and chest, as has my husband. I've been doing my entire skincare routine including my face, neck, chest, and hands for a long time now bc your chest and hands can give away your age faster than your face sometimes (or at the very least show age that your face may not). I encourage everyone to do the same. You won't regret it!

Your skin might have a reaction if you begin using it morning and night right away. Your skin gets more used to the peel with every application, so phase it in is the best way to go, I think. Start by applying it every other night for a week, then, if you've had no adverse reaction, you can use it every night.

I use them twice a week and I don't have a problem. But I guess it depends on your skin type... I'd suggest if you have dry skin see how using it twice a week works and then adjust but if you have combo skin I'd def say it's ok to use this twice a week or even three times if your skin needs that extra pick me up.

I use it every night before bed, since I have more time to layer skin products in the evening. I am allergic to certain ingredients, but my skin is not overly sensitive. I would try it out first and see how your skin feels. If it stings, then your skin is probably more sensitive, and you might want to start out with twice a week and increase if necessary.

I have tried all of them. I like this one the best. The exfoli-Kate didn't do much for me. I still have the bottle but have stopped using it since it didn't make a difference. I tried the brazillian and that one works pretty well but it is pricey and it was harsh on my skin. (skin got red). This one didn't make my skin red and it was so easy to use and showed fast results. If your skin isn't super sensitive, the Brazillian peel is great too. I just prefer this one. I personally didn't get much from the Kate. It's gentle and exfoliates I guess but my skin didn't look or feel any different after using it several times.

I have used all three thanks to Sephora samples. I prefer these pads as well. But I like to take a break about once a month. That's when I use the Exfolikate. I have very oily, acne prone skin, so I always need something but Exfolikate is more gentle.

As another commenter said, the brazilian peel is more immediate. So, if I've been on a budget, haven't been keeping up with this peel and have an event, I'll reach for the brazilian.

I must say though, hands down, the best skin care product I've purchased are the Perricone Omega 3 diestary supplement pills. It has evened out my skin tone and allowed my skincare routine to really do its job.

I have used all three and this is hands down, my favorite. Exfolikate works well, but these pads tighten better and diminish the fine lines more. The Brazilian Peel is also a good product, but I think that both Exfolikate and the Brazilian Peel are more exclusively used just for exfoliation. Dr. Gross' pads have more visible benefits such as tightening, smoothing wrinkles, fading age spots, evening out skin tone, increasing hydration, etc. - that the other two products don't do IMO. For the money (and I know they are expensive!) you can't buy a better product than these pads!

I also use the Brazilian peel, and while the peel delivers remarkable results instantly, I think the extra strength alpha beta treatments better improve my skin long term. Also, the preventative aspects of the treatments are better than the peel, in my opinion. If I had to stop using one of the products, it would definitely be the peel.

I would imagine a moisturizing one would be the way to go, but that's because I have combination skin. I use a Rose Hip Oil cleanser (it's in cream form) with a wash cloth. For me, the product is enough. What I like about it is that I can use less expensive face wash--anything that works on your skin and keeps it cleansed. well, I had acne since 13 due to my hormones and it got more intense as i grew older. Naturally scars take a long time to go away and its a long irritating process. Some never will....Unless you use products to take care of it.
I have really sensitive skin and i had a good experience with the peel for the 1st day. I didn't feel any burn. I did use aloe vera gel as my moisturizer afterwards. I still have many marks and dents on my face and i am pretty much multi-toned on my face and quite red cheeked for a south Indian girl(but i pull it off quite nice :P)
Just from reading the Ingredients, I will say that it will help you with your acne and scarring. Since you are only 16 and i waited many many years to take care of my scars and dings and dents and acne(neglect), I hope you give this product a try. This just maybe the one that will help you out. I wished i knew about when i was younger. Best wishes

If you have never used any alpha beta pads before, I would start with the original formula for a while. How long depends upon your skin's sensitivity. At minimum, I would use the original for 5-10 times before using the extra-strength formula. I always recommend starting out slowly to condition your skin to the ingredients. I am a seasoned chemical and physical exfoliator and use these pads every other night. That really seems often enough for me, but some people may be able to tolerate nightly use. If your skin gets irritated, back off a bit and follow a routine that keeps your skin happy. These pads should be used on a fairly frequent schedule. Certainly not just a few times a month. You need to use them frequently enough to affect changes in the skin.
