Question
Does this have any scent to it?
I realize it says no synthetic fragrances, but does this have any strong scent to it? Floral or otherwise? I use Murad Perfecting Night Cream and need something heavier for the winter.

The product does not have added fragrance, but the "natural" smell of it is quite like sunscreen, although there is none in it.

I am very acne prone (have to get extracting facials once a month) so moisturizers terrify me because I cant stand for them to break me out. ESPECIALLY heavy creams. Murad have nailed it. This is rich enough that it penetrates and balances dryness BUT I havent seen a pimple since I started using it (4 months now)......so, not only does it NOT cause acne - I think it is actually preventing it!!

I would think that this would be good for acne prone skin. I had some break-outs from trying other products, they went AWAY within a few days of using~

All I can say is that I still get the occasional hormonal breakout and in the two weeks that I've used it, my skin is great. I also have very sensitive skin and that too has been fine.

I would say no to acne prone skin, I think this is for older skin, dryer skin just starting the aging process , fine lines , large pores , dry spots , and such

It does give your skin a hydrated glow, but there is no illuminating particles like mica in it, so it won't be a shimmery glow.

No it doesn't have sunscreen. I apply a sunscreen over it! I believe adding a sunscreen to this product would adversely affect the qualities that make it so likeable now!

No sunscreen. I know all day products should have sunscreen, but at least this one gives you flexibility for combining other skincare products. You'll have to get your sunscreen in foundation or primer.

No, but I got this to wear under an SPF UVA/UVB sunscreen from my dermatologist that was too dry to use alone. I use the Hydro-Dynamic first, let it absorb for a few seconds, then add the sunscreen layer and it has been an ideal combination for the winter! No heavy or greasy layer feeling on my face either, I think because this moisturizer is so well absorbed. I hope it works as well for you!

Does it firm?
After defying father time in my 30's, my skin is showing it's age at 45. And then some. Main concern now - sagging. Most firming creams I've triend have provided zero results, or have been too drying. Has anyone had any firming benefits with this product?

No. I haven't seen a firming benefit. I get the firming benefit from Murad's Complete Reform GlycoFirming Complex. This moisturizer is provides excellent moisture and is not greasy.

I don't think it firms. But, Firm Baby Firm by Bliss is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
I use this as a base just once a day on my face neck and chest and I luv it. Hope this helps.

If you are looking for firmness use this with the Complete Reform , which is a treatment step so u will wanna use the hydro dynamic ontop of it

I'm 48 and started experiencing some sagging too just this year. I've used this product for less than a week and my skin does look and feel firmer. I'm amazed at the results I've gotten from this moisturizer after trying so many different ones that didn't live up to their claims of helping with firming and anti-aging.

Imo, the ingredients are awesome and I have seen that glow and firmness again.
Plus, I since this is not greasy I can use it day and night. And I haven't got that random nasty once a month zit with this. yay!

I used a retiniod prescribed by my dermatologist every other night and love using this product as my everyday moisturizer! I have sensitive skin prone to breakouts and have not experienced any issues with this product. You should definitely give it a try!

I can't guarantee you won't break out, but I am VERY sensitive to moisturizers that are not oil-free. I haven't broken out yet and have been using for a month now.

I think the amount of oil would be inconsequential since it sbsorbs so quickly, and would probably not help drier skin if it didn't have some type of oil.

I have very sensitive, combination skin and break out with products that have any fragrance or heavy oils. I have had NO issues at all with this product and think it is a terrific all-purpose moisturizer that absorbs quickly and is not greasy.

Yes. It is not at all greasy so can be used under make-up in the morning. Of course, I'm assuming you have dry skin and don't produce much oil during the day.

YES! I use two coats @ night and one during the day. I'm very serious about caring for my skin.
*if your really dry i suggest you use an olive oil/coconut oil just after the shower to retain the moisture from the shower. wait 10 min and add the Murad. This is my nightime PMS regimne.

I used the product under Estee Lauder BB cream and was too dewy. I had to add powder on it to un-dew. I also found that it "rolled" when under BB Cream.

The C is like a treatment for me, But the Hydro face cream is BOMB!!! Please Please do yourself a favor and try this cream. Its truly amazing. I am a NY state licensed cosmetologist and i have access to top of the line products, and this Hyrdo-cream Blows them all away,for me that is. I have dry skin, 45 yrs old, lines, t-zone. I have it on all day and night, i looker younger!! Good luck:)

I asked the same question. Essential C is great for improving radiance and it's a great general moisturizer but it doesn't have the anti aging properties. I've been using this one and I am very happy with the results.
