I am starting to suspect the whole one glove included only has a purpose considering most clipless curlers come that way. I think they're trying to have you grip the handle with bare hand for safety reasons (ie, would be bad to drop it on you foot, no?) I'm sure most people will argue they can hold the curler perfectly well with the glove, but hey... nothing beats bare hand when it comes to control and you don't want to mess with something that is over 300F hot.

Amazon.com has heat resistant gloves for Enzo Milano which should be fine to work with Sultra since they are both clipless curling irons.
They are about $13.00 each.

Use an old glove that you have around your house. Cheap and effective

If you are right handed, hold the Sultra styling tool with your right hand, and place the glove on your left, and vice versa. There is no need to switch the glove from hand to hand. Curling each side of your head will work the same way. They may eventually sell the glove on its own if someone happens to loose the one it comes with, or if you really want to wear two.

I bought an Ove Glove and it works much better then the one that came with it...

I've never used one but Conair makes an Infinit Curling Wand that looks almost identical--except with a tapered end. It's under $50 and the reviews online are great!

YES THERE IS!!! The CONAIR iNFiNiTi (and yes, that is the way it is spelled out on the iron?(: )This iron does not have a comb on it, it has a black tip on the end so you really do not need to use any glove,and it has it's on temp. control where you can put it on 310*F, 330*F, 360*F, or 400*F. One of the great things about it is that ,the rod starts off smaller at the bottom, for smaller curles if you want, and is big the rest of the way up the iron!!! I love it . I get every look that this product gives you, seriously!!! The price is the only differrence(besides the glove use!!). At the time I found it on sell for $18.00, but know I think it may have went up into the $20's. still better than over $100.. Right?! I swear by it!! But to each there own!!!!

All curling irons that Sephora sells are going to be in the same price range. This tool is definitely worth the money, is made well, and will last you for years. It's faster and easier than any other curling device I've ever tried. It's soo worth it!

Enzo Milano

The 1 inch professional Tourmaline Ceramic Infiniti by Conair. It heats up to 395 degrees farhenheit. Like the one pictured here, it too does not have a clip. However, it does have bristles which do help guide and line your hair up to help you achieve the kind of curl you want. It has multiple heat settings. Because it gets so hot when using it on higher heat settings, I would try to find a safety glove (your own cheaper alternative) on your own to use with it. Before I used the conair, I considered my hair hard to curl - now I use the conair on the higher heat settings and have been very happy with it. I use it with a spray thermal heat protector and this has helped keep my hair in good condition. I got mine on clearance for $20, but have seen it online at Ulta I think for about $30. If you want all over waves in a short amount of time, I can also recommend the Bed Head Tourmaline Ceramic DEEP WAVE. Also use with a spray thermal heat protector to keep your hair in good condition. I believe it is at Ulta.com online also, for under $30-$35. They have two similar ones so be sure it's the DEEP WAVE, as this one provides bigger, more natural looking curls.

As most people own a flat iron already, that would be a more inexpensive alternative. The only problem is, a flat iron will not achieve uniform curls that this product can!

Go to a "videos website", and look up: how to curl hair with a flat iron. Most people who use this method have very long hair, tourmaline 1in. works the best.

Do you HAVE to use a glove? No. Is it safer to use a glove? YES! I don't know how anyone uses Bombshell without a glove and gets the bottom pieces of hair to curl! For me, I feel more heat when I'm cradling the curl to cool down than I do when I have the wand around my hair.

Yes, there is nothing else to protect your hand from the heat, and no where else on the tool to hold that does not get hot. It also allows you to gently hold the end of your hair around the base of the rod so that you don't end up with any stick straight edges like curling with a straightener may do.

I didn't use the glove on my left hand (and I kept switching back and forth), and I ended up burning the inside of my wrist. Now I'm trying to find out if I can buy an extra glove!

You dont have to, but i highly recommend it. You wrap your hair manually around the stick, so when you get to the tips it can be a bit hot on your fingers... however if you dont want to curl the ends of your hair, then you wouldnt "need" to wear it, although again i would recommend it. (it heats up to 360 degrees and I burn the inside of my arm by accident once, not fun.

The glove is optional. However, if you're fairly new to using a product such as a clipless curling iron, a glove would be the safer option. The only downside to the glove is that it may cause your hair to become static. But if you use it enough and practice, you will realize that a glove is not needed.

Absolutely not for a beginner. It is to hard to juggle the intensely hot appliance while twirling and positioning. I strongly suggest you not use it until you have had lots of experience with extremely hot hair appliances. I realize some people say it is easy, you do get the swing of it after a few tries, but I wouldn't suggest it as a starter.

This is really easy to use and to me it seems safer than the traditional iron with the clamp. Because you start high and wrap hair, there's less chance of getting burned because it doesn't get moved around in the process. Watch this video for information:

I curled my daughter's hair without any risk of burning her because of the control I had over the rod. The last time I curled her hair with a traditional rod and clamp iron, I accidentally touched her ear with the rod. Not a problem with this iron.

I used everything else before from $19 - $300 curling iron or thirly irons to flat irons. Everything!!! This is the simplest and most effective way to curl. Well worth the investments.

I think it is a much easier tool to use than a traditional curling iron. You don't need to worry about layers falling of of the clamp, or anything like that. All you do is take a piece of hair, wrap a small section of hair around the Sultra starting at your hair root, let sit in curl form for 10-15 seconds depending on the thickness of the desired curl, then release. Perfect and easy to use for any hair type, thick or thin, straight or frizzy! Just make sure to brush out smaller sections before beginning to curl.

I honestly think this is a brilliant tool for a beginner because the directions are so easy to follow. Plus there are instructive videos on YouTube that can give you more tips and tricks for using this product.

i would highly recommend not curling your hair or straigening your hair with any product. it is not only horrible for your hair but it will eventually leave built up on your product. beleive me i am pressed for time too, but in the long run you will want to have completly dry hair.

No, I would not use this tool on wet hair. It may singe, burn, and damage your hair. Blow or air dry first, then use the Bombshell to syle!

NOT AT ALL! thats the one thing i hate! you can't fully rap the ends of your hair so their not curled! i recommend using a straightening iron in order to unfrizz your ends and then curl it out.

Yes, I can usually get all the way down to the tips of my hair. A glove to protect your hands is included with the sultra and helps protect your fingers when you get close.

I don't think you have to. I have very fine hair and it kept the curl with no product in it.

Nope. I have not use an holding products and it is holding up like a charm all day. Maybe a heat protectant if you use it everyday. I like the fact I don't need sticky products unless I want to set it in a bun or 40's Vicky Lake style. I have very hard to curl hair and I cannot use any other tool to curl my hair. its really good to use. it will help protect your hair from drying out and getting damaged. plus it will define your curls. but you can get that kind of stuff anywhere. you dont have to use theirs

Nope! Not required. If you do use a thermal heating product it may protect your hair more and hold the desired style longer. Even without your hair will still curl and not burn with the ceramic rod!

I have shoulder length hair and found it difficult to get all my hair on this short iron. If you have a lot of hair (or long) it will not all fit on the iron.

My hair is that length and it works perfectly. I like long loose curly and it's a really sexy look with long hair.

My hair is just past my shoulders and it curled my hair nicely. However, be aware that your hair will relax through the day, just because of gravity, so you might want to make your curls tighter to start with and then finger comb.

I *thought* mine quit on me and figured out that I needed to push the reset/test button on the plug-in and another time I realized that the light on the "on" switch blinks until hot and the delayed light made me keep turning it off and on like a dork until I realized the light isn't "steady." Embarrassing. :) Hope that's all that's wrong for you, too.

that actually happened to me for a bit the other day but after pressing both buttons, turning it on and off, and plugging and unplugging (lol) it started working again, thank god! I hope yours starts working again. make sure to register ur product on sultra.com. once you register they can probably do something for you if it still doesnt work.

Oh man, I must blame the blond hair on this one! The first two times I used it, I turned it on and walked away. The third time, I sat and watched it. This iron does not beep and the light takes a few seconds to turn on (I was turning it on and off before the light even came on). Then it flashes, and finally it stays lit when the iron is ready to use.

Take bigger sections of hair to wrap around the iron, and brush the ends gently when you a all done: perfect, loose curls.

My hairs about 6 in past my shoulders. I take my hair by about 3 inch sections and curl it by bringing the iron as close to the root as possible then wrapping my hair around it from there. hold (with the glove) for at least 15 seconds to get a nice wave, longer if you want an actual curl. good luck!

I am not totally sure how, but you could try taking more strands of hair and when you wrap it around the iron try to spread the hair out along the iron. The more strands can give you bigger curls and the spreading of the hair will maybe give you a looser curl.

You're going to have to move the iron up/down (whatever is easiest for you) and do a second wrap toward the scalp/ends. I have long hair too and that's what i do, although, a lot of times I leave the ends out or just double wrap for a soft finish at the ends. It takes on a more undone/tousled look that way
