I don't think the brush is all that big. It works perfectly fine for me.

answer 2
It is a bigger brush than most shadow brushes, but the edge is formed so well that it puts shadow down only where you want it. I use it to put black shadow on the outer lashline, and it works perfectly for that.

The brush is not overly wide. I'd guess about 5/16 of an inch. Gives more coverage than a 1/4" brush but is more controllable than a wider one.

It is the perfect size - the shape is the secret to the great coverage it provides.

It is bigger than most eyeshadow brushes. The base is quite fat, about the size of the base of my thumbnail, but fortunately it's very easy to use and not at all a deterrent. I really like this brush.

The hairs aren't very long but the brush is fairly wide. I would say it's about 1/2"

answer 8
The bristles are pretty short... Maybe a fourth of an inch at the longest. I feel like it's the perfect size to apply the shadow to the lid without getting shadow all around your eye.

Question
Does this brush help the Buxom shadow last longer?
I seem to be the only person that's had any trouble with the Buxom eyeshadows. On me, the one I've tried creases within a few hours, it is not waterproof, and it doesn't last very long. I'm wondering if using the brush designed for the shadows helps them to last any longer. Thanks for your help!

Make sure you use Prime time eyelid primer before this type of shadow. It will help it stay on.
I like this brush b/c it picks up the color perfectly & makes blending a breeze! Hope this helps!

I think it is the ONLY way to apply the Buxon eyeshadow but it also works well with others brands.

answer 3
I never put on my eyeshadows without primer, and I've found that with primer, the Buxom eyeshadow (St. Bernard, the bright green) stays on for over 20 hours with no creasing. I did get a bit of fading, but I did sleep in mine. Interestingly enough, I found no trace of green eyeshadow on the white pillowcases the next morning.

But yes: primer, primer, primer. And no lotion under the primer, I found that it cuts way down on the primer's usefulness.

answer 6
I think this brush distributes the buxom stay there shadow more evenly, so maybe that makes it last longer. Otherwise, I think the staying power really lies within the product itself.

answer 7
I haven't had problems with the product not staying. I use an eyelid primer, tben Bisque concealer on top. Then I put the shadow on and set it with mineral veil.'
The color lasts all day with no fading or creasing.
Hope this helps!!!

the official website for buxom by bare escentuals do not says what it is made from.

the box wrap does not mention either.

the instructions inside the box and wrapping does not say it either.

i'm afraid you would have to ask the company itself by mailing them...

the price is quite cheap. i don't think it is from animal.

Question
Do the Buxom brushes work well with the other BE mineral/powder shadows & vice versa?
I was wondering if anyone has used any of the Buxom brushes with the BE minerals shadows and liners, and, if so, how did they do? I'd hate to spend the money on the brushes if I can ONLY use them on the Buxom liners/shadows. I'm just getting started with the Buxom eye make-up, with the exception of the mascara, so I'm not sure how much I will use it. I LOVE the BE minerals/powders for EVERYTHING, so I'm a little leery about stepping away from them. They're all I've used since the very 1st time I tried BE 12 years ago. I threw out everything else the very 1st day I tried BE and have never looked back. I've never really used cream shadows/liners, but since it's BE, I thought I'd give it a try. Any advice re: Buxom shadows/liners and brushes? I'm a "blinded by the white" ;) pale redhead with blue eyes if that helps with suggestions. Thanks for the help and taking the time. It's much appreciated!

PS Sorry for the length! :)

Generally brushes multi-task, and this is an all-purpose brush. Use this with anything powdery, it works fine. I don't own BE eyeshadow myself, and the only Buxom I own are brushes, but I have used this brush with minerals, loose pigments and cakes-wet and dry. I personally prefer to use brushes that have more body with creams. Altho shortened, the bristles on this brush are very soft. The brush will pick up the cream just fine but the application will be extemely soft, meaning you won't deposit much product onto your skin. IMO, far better for blending the creamy things, I haven't used the Stay There shadow but I understand it is a mineral cream designed to be applied in layers, varying the intensity. May take a while to get to super-intense. Contrary to creams, with any liquid this brush is pretty juicy- ok for lip stain, maybe eye serum application but not much else on the face, unless you're going for that water color finger-paint look. Was a little wide for me, mine works for me now in my mani-pedi kit applying much needed cuticle care.

Question
Will this work to apply shadow and liner?
I just bought the buxum stay there eye shadow palette and i wanted to use the two bright colors as eyeliner. Will this brush be able to apply the eyeshadow as a liner or will a simple angled eyeliner brush work better?

I've had this brush for about a month now. It's really too think to use as an eyeliner, unless you want an extremely thick line. I definitely wouldn't recommend using it as an eyeliner brush for the lower lashline.
