I've never had a reaction to any other eye product, but this primer made my eyes water so much it looked like I was crying. I tried it with various shadows, and I used the same shadows with other primers. With other primers, I'm fine. So I just put the primer on, and in about 10 minutes, my eyes were on fire. I don't know what they put in this, but my eyes couldn't take it. (It did work spectacularly well, though.)

I bought this kit so I'd have all new makeup after my lasik surgery. (The doctor tells you to do this to lessen the chance of infection.) My eyes have been super dry and sensitive post-surgery. However, I have had no problems with this makeup. It has not irritated my eyes at all. If you usually wear eye makeup without any issues, I would suggest your problems are coincidental.

It might be fallouts of the eyeshadow and you might be too sensitive for this product. if you have sensitive eyes i would resort to using all natural lines like bare essential, Korres, tarte, or other brands that are all natural =)

I have sensitive eyes too, and my advice is just to make sure that you don't apply the shadow too close to the inner corner of your eye on the top lid...that's when my problems start. (Probably something to do with tear ducts or whatnot...I'm not a doctor...)

But if you keep having reactions I'd suggest you stop using the shadow and see if the red eyes clear up. If they do then unfortunately you're probably sensitive to one of the ingredients. Hope this helped!

It may have been the primer & the brush. The brush was very irritating to my eyelids, after two applications I could not take it anymore. But, the problem can be solved by using another brush of higher quality.

I too had a problem with red/itchy eyes. I discovered it was the mascara. Don't know if it was the primer or the mascara itself but once I stopped using it, I had no more problems with any of the other products.

I threw mine away. It kept leaking after I cleaned it all up and waited a few minutes to check it out again. I would move on to another liquid eyeliner.

While I don't know the exact brand names for the colors, I can describe them. The highlighting shade is a vanilla color (white with a slight hint of yellow), the middle shade is a peachy color. Both of these shades are very shimmery. The dark shade is a smoky black.

The highlighter color comes off as white, the top left color looks pinkish in the pictures and on the compact, but it comes off as a nude shimmer...almost like a brownish pink...but not quite. The last color is a smoky black. it has shimmer on the compact but it does not show up on the eyelid. you have to apply many times to get a dark effect like the pretty picture of the girl they have.

The colors in Movie Star aren't exactly as pictured online. The lightest color is a pearly beige, the medium color is a light bronze color with a touch of peach, and the darkest color is a very dark grey with shimmer. I hesitate to call the darkest color "black" because I don't think eye shadows ever get to the true black of a good eyeliner.

The two lightest colors work great with a natural eye look, and you can add the charcoal color for a smoky eye.

The middle shade is Serenity which is sold as a single pot shadow. the lightest is a lot like their Enlighten or Sand shade. i'm not sure about the darkest. Try Dreamy

The shadow brush that comes with this set is great. I don't think you'll need another. It has a side to apply and blend the lid shadow and the other side is smaller to apply color AND blend on the lower lashes.

It does come with a brush, but the brush it comes with is really bad. It's very flimsy and doesn't blend the color well. I tried each side once and then went back to my other brushes.

The brush that comes with the kit has been sufficient for me. Because you're layering the shadow, you just wipe on a tissue between colors. I haven't had any issues with the brush and feel like more brushes would bog down a very simple process.

This definitely comes with everything. You don't need an extra brush to apply the shadow. You just will have to clean it after you use the darkest shadow.

It comes with a perfect two-sided eye brush. A big side for application/blending and a smaller side for lining. I don't believe you'll need another brush. I didn't.

I'd go with another brush; the one in the set is pretty awful, honestly. Sephora brand has a double-ended brush that's $18 and works very well; they also have a travel set that's $18 which is also very good, if you don't mind shorter handles on your brushes.

I can only find this online! I was told in the store they are discontinuing this kit and offering the shadow for sale by itself.

I'm not happy!!! Lol....

But I do love their new kit with the pro mascara and gel liner, also if you mix the darker shadow you get a similar effect! Miss the black shadow, it was the perfect liner for dramatic upper lid lining. The brush with the new kit is awesome!!!!
