It removed my blackheads - and made my pores appear smaller. I know that nothing will actually make your pores smaller but some ingredients can make them look smaller. Also, blackheads will stretch your pores out and make them bigger so in the long term this product can help by keeping them clean with regular use.
The first time I used it I did not notice much blackhead removal, but using it 2x a week, I noticed after the third time my blackheads were gone. I have used the Biore strips and this works much better and more consistently for me (plus, I get blackheads on my cheeks as well).

Yes, it removes those blackheads close to the surface. If you apply a thin layer, those blackheads will be exposed after you peel up the mask. Then, I use a gentle scrub to clear them out.

Yes. They also have strips. I have a lot of black heads on my nose and an employee recommended the strips but said that this worked exactly the same and targeted the whole face instead of the nose so I tried this. If you are only worried about the nose, I would suggest getting that. I am considering taking this back and getting the strips myself.

It cleans out the pores, but it does not really remove blackheads. The biore pore strips do not really work well to remove blackheads, as I have tried them. The Boscia Purifying Pore Strips are the same idea as the biore ones, but they work a thousand times better. Using the black mask, and then unclogging even more with the Boscia strips would give you the best results.

Yes, incredibly well. I wasn't expecting that when I put it on, but you can feel it when you take it off. It's nice that it actually forms and fits your face (especially the nose) in a way the strips can't.

no....peels off dead skin which causes blackheads...use biore stips to get rid of the black heads but then use this to keep them away for good :)

I did not notice it taking out any blackheads as i peeled the mask off; then again it all depends on how well you take care of your skin. I dont have that many blackheads to begin with, but enough that i should have seen a difference.

It definitely gives the appearance of tighter pores making it hard to see any blackheads. I did not ever have any luck w/ the Biore strips, but this has made a big difference for me.

No. You should not be experiencing pain with this mask. If you experience pain with this, or any other beauty product for that matter, it probably means you're slightly allergic to it.
Some products note that you'll feel a slight tingling or whatever, but this one is not supposed to, so I would stop using it and try a different mask in the future.

Hurts me too! Leaves my cheeks red and irritated. Might start removing it with a warm cloth instead of peeling it. I know it will loose some of the exfoliating effects that way, but I rather have that, then blotchy skin. Note *My skin is not sensitive, so why it doe this with this product is a mystery to me.

No pain. The removal of the mask is quite easy. If you miss little bits just use water and rub your fingers on the black spots and the mask will easily come off. Does not need much effort.

I think this product was extremely painful. Ive tried other masks and have never experienced a level of pain like this mask. I was overall disappointed in this product. My face was extremely red and blotchy after I peeled it off and a day later, it is still in the same condition. I am not happy with this at all

it should not be painful....but you should be able to FEEL it working. meaning you will feel a little "tug" when you start to peel off mask-this is becuse the mask is actually working and drawing out impurities, bacteria and oil

It shouldn't be painful, however, if you get it on your hairline it may hurt when removing as it will pull the hairs. Just be careful to avoid the hairline!

It will hurt if you go too fast. This is a typical gel type of mask and you have to keep in mind that it will stick to your top layer. I suggest peeling what you can and in the areas that it hurts to peel off of just wipe it off with a warm wet cloth. The lask easily comes off in water :-) Hope this helps!

No, it isn't supposed to be painful but you have to remember that since it is getting into your skin that when you peel it off that you are removing any baby hairs attached to your face. That is why this product is so good at removing everything bad in your skin is because it grabs it so well. It feels as if you were to take a band aide off some arm hair. It may be a little uncomfortable but just go for it!

It "hurts" as much as when you peel of a Biore nose strip. If you haven't used that product, then no it shouldn't be painful. I find it slightly irritating when I'm peeling off of a sensitive/soft section portion of my skin (i.e. my cheeks).

no. it'd only hurt if your skin is too dry or too hairy. only use this if you have oily skin w/ clogged pores and avoid areas with hair. i found that it's not necessary to apply this to your entire face, just focus on the oily areas, such as t-zone for best results

I havent quite found out if it is supposed to be kind of painful, i know mine was. However, I feel like thats the nature of the product, its intended to really pull the gunk out of your face. Which in my case, if it cleans my blackheads, ill endure the pain.

Yes. I tried this product as a sample and plan on purchasing it. I have acne problems that mostly result from clogged pores (I rarely have cystic acne), which results in blackheads and small pimples. I found that this helped exfoliate my skin, removing dirt and blackheads, which has helped with breakouts.

Since this product does help with clearing your pores and exfoliating, I can imagine that it will be helpful in managing or reducing acne. However, make sure you do not use ON the acne, b/c it will easily pull and open the acne when the mask is removed. If you're having issues with acne, following this product use a toner then followed by serum and moisturizer. You will see that as a result of using the masks the products' absorption and hence effectiveness will significantly improve. Hope this helps.

I haven't noticed a difference, but I've only used it twice (two weeks) so far. Hopefully it'll start making a difference, but I've had my skin clear up faster using products like Clean and Clear, and Kiss My Face.

I have noticed that I have less breakouts using this. You know how your pores look cleaned out after using a Biore strip? Imaginge your entire face looking like that! So I am guessing by unclogging my pores, I am preventing future breakouts. So for me, YES- it has helped with acne.

This product was not my favorite for my blackhead problem. My pores are clogged pretty deep. I would recommend Peter Thomas Roth eucalyptus sulfer mask. Boscia black mask, I felt, was more of a surface-y treatment. Thought it did make my skin feel a lot smoother.

It certainly exfoliates, but to what extent, I'm unsure. I noticed my face was smoother after using it, and I imagine pulling it off your face after it has dried will certainly pull off a lot of flakes, too.

i am not sure but i imagine the peel off would take the flakes right off- i didnt have any dryness but my skin is left very clear - and just use a great moisturizer after (if u like boscia i like their nighttime recharging moisturizer)... or if u are super dry try Philosophy 'when hope is not enough'- i use that in the summer when i want a lot of moisture and my tan to last

Flakes on your skin? Not to be funny, but your situation may be a little bit more than Sephora can handle. You should see a doctor and get a prescription for what you are talking about. Im not sure about the severity of your condition, but if it is what I am imagining, it sounds like you may have Dermatis Psorarisis. Flakes on the skin is not a minor condition....unless you simply mean you have regular dry skin like most of us. If that is the case, then you just need a good moisturizer. But again, I am not sure how severe your situation is.

Yes! The product removes a lot of impurities on the skin and will help with flakes. Be sure to leave it on for 20 minutes and apply a decently thick layer, to make it easy to peel off. This mask will remove flakes. I have psorasis so I have to be very careful what I use on my skin and this mask was so soothing which I know seems odd based upon its leathery look. If you are in the Beauty club go into the store and ask for a sample. They will give you a small container enough for one mask to try ebfore you buy!

Yes. I think it will because this mask draws out all the impurities and exfoliates your skin. I noticed that my skin was smooth, my pores were noticeably smaller, and my skin sort of glowed. I think if you are having a problem with flaky skin then it is defiantly worth a shot at trying this product.

this product is better for oily skin to pull out dirt in clogged pores. i wouldn't use it for flakes since that's usually a sign of dry skin. for flakes, use a very soft scrube instead and put on plenty of moisturizer.

I would be a little wary to do that... this is just my experience, but this mask is STRONG and pulls off a lot of little hairs from my face when I use it so I can't even imagine what it would feel like pulling off all of the hairs on your neck :(

yes. dont put on top of picked off pimple (sorry disgusting). use when no scab on them. if you use a few days a week and wash every nite i bet your skin will calm down. this is all that works for the normal breakouts i get with period cycle.

Most exfoliants help reduce scarring by encouraging cell turnover. However, don't use this on lesions that are healing, it will rip the protective scab of. If you really don't like the scab and don't care about proper healing, use a cleanser with glycolic acid. I don't have many acne scars, but I do have a lot of post-acne hyperpigmentation. Ingredients good for hyperpigmentation include: licorice, Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), Vitamin A (Retinol), the B vitamins (especially Niacin and Panthenol), Kojic Acid, Mandelic Acid and Allantoin, to name a few.

I haven't seen direct result with acne scars or heard of it for this product. It does clean of your pores very well and exfoliate, so you'll be less likely to get future scars.

i wouldn't think so. if anything, it made my pores quite a bit more visible -- the product either left some sort of residue in my pores or discoloured my blackheads to make them more noticeable. regardless, it was not a flattering look!
you might be better off with something like bio oil or cacao butter for scarring. if your scars are from acne, i'd try something from bliss (e.g. steep clean or their oxygen mask) or a mask from dr. brandt (something that actually did minimize ance scarring for me).

Nothing by itself can help remove scars. Especially anything applied topically for such a short amount of time. I would suggest a facial peel. A really good peel is Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel by Dr. Dennis Gross.

It depends on how bad your scarring is. I have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (acne scars that last up to 6 months) and it has helped a lot with that. But if you have deep scars or ones that have been there for many years, I don't think this product will be able to help you much.
You should really look into chemical peels with BHA's and AHA's. I am a liscensed Esthetician and I will tell you that the only real ways to help with bad scarring are micodermabrasion, chemical peels, lasers, etc.
These are of course more expensive, but sometimes the only options.

I have a few places of scarring and I noticed no difference with the first peel but maybe consecutive ones. It does get rid of dead skin though and my skin felt like the blood was circulating and looked healthier.

I have acne scars on my face. the small poc marks. it doesnt help get rid of them BUT for the day it makes your complexion texture smoother and that helps you apply the make up on smoother and it does make the scars look better for the day but doesnt rid you of them.

Make it thick! And let it dry completely. Any thin spots in the mask are going to be a pain to get off your face.

You have to apply a thick layer all around the face, so that your skin isn't visible through the mask. Start at the bottom of your chin, use your nails to get it going, just peel it off like a bandaid.

make sure you apply a very generous (like u shouldnt see ur skin thru it) and i waited more like 30 mins.. til it was totally dry to the touch... whatever it took.. and it came off wayyyyy easier

You're probably doing what I did - using too much. It is difficult to get an exact thin layer but you can rinse the excess off with warm water.

apply a thick enough layer so you can not see your skin through it. avoid the eye area (where that thinner layer of skin around your eyes is), away from the eyebrows, and the hairline. let it completely dry (and then wait another five-ten minutes), then you can pull it off! good luck!

For the rest or areas where it hurts to peel the mask off of just take a warm wet cloth and slowly,carefully wipe it off. Are you putting on a thick enough layer? It doesn't have to be super thick but it needs to have enough so that it will dry as one piece. If the layer is too thin then it will tear. Try putting it on just a little thicker and making sure that it is even across your whole face! If you have a few small spots left then either pick those off or use a damp towel.

sounds like it's either not thick enough or wasn't completely dried. make sure it's thick enough to not see through it. then let it dry... a good indicator is when you try to make face expressions, you can feel a little stretch on the mask. you should feel like as if there's a thin layer of rubber on your face. then try to pick up a little piece from the edge and roll a bit in order to create something you can grab onto first then peel.
finally, if your skin is too dry or hairy, don't use it. this mask is ideal for oily skin where you have clogged pores. start with the t-zone area as practice and expand it from there as you feel more comfortable with the mask.

With this product you do need to apply a thick layer to the skin. It should not be translucent and you should not be able to see your skin. AND DO NOT go any closer the the eye than the orbital bone and try to keep it away from the hair line and brows.

I think it would be fine. Make sure you follow with a moisturizer, and don't leave it on past the recommended 15-20 minutes. I also have combo/dry skin in the winter and had no problems. I have also just used it as a spot treatment around my nose, chin & forehead - which I found worked well if my cheeks needed to be left alone.

It did not help my pores at all. For me personally, it seemed to open them more and my skin became more oily. I would suggest you find samples and try different things out. I am sad I spent the money on this product.

I have the similar problem, my t-zone is typically much more oily whereas the rest of my skin is rather dry, make sure to use this only once a week followed my a good night cream. As long as you use a mild face wash and follow with a good night cream you should be fine, at least I was.

I would concentrate this product on the oily areas of your face. Being sure to avoid the dry areas since the peel-off action could exacerbate the condition.
