Question
Does it hold a curl?
I have straight eyelashes so i have to curl them with an eyelash curler. My question is does the primer hold the curl or make the eyelash go limp?

Really depends on your lashes. If you have lashes with a natural curl, then you don't need to curl them. I have Asian lashes, which are pretty straight. Therefore, I have to curl them and then apply a THIN coat. If you apply too much, the moisture from the product will kill the curl. Once the thin coat is dry, then apply a thicker coat. OR curl again (make sure it's dry) and then apply the second coat. You might want to lightly dust your curler with baby powder to keep your lashes from sticking to the curler. If a couple of my lashes stick together, I immediately use tweezers to separate them.

Yes, it does. I no longer curl my lashes because it makes my naturally straight lashes curl up and frame my eyes. Before, I used an eyelash curler every day and hated it because I could see that I lost lashes each time. I do take time and carefully apply the product, pulling my lashes upward. I love it.

I bought this when it first came out and returned it because my eyelashes would droop terribly after a few minutes. But I recently bought it again in the sample size to try it again. I know how to apply it now and my lashes curl straight up! (I have long, thin, straight Asian lashes.) What I do is curl them with a lash curler, then apply Maximizer and hold them in a curled position until they're dry (about a few seconds). Then when I put mascara on, I have lashes to the ceiling that last all day!

I curl my lashes before putting the primer and I would have to say it holds the curl. Curl your lashes, put a coat or two on of the primer. Wait a minute to let it dry just a bit so it dosent come off with your mascara. then put your mascara on, you only need one or two coats and it will look wayyy longer and way thicker.

Make sure you apply your mascara before you let the primer dry. I do one eye at a time. I have both tubes open and ready to go so as soon as I apply the primer I can put my mascara on. It works perfectly for me. I love it!!

Apply one eye at a time. Curl your lashes first that way they are already standing upright so you wont need to use a ton of product to achieve your first goal. (Try the Tarte lash curler) then comb one layer on straight up (on one eye only) then close that eye and tap more product on by tapping. When you open your eye, they will be standing straight up. Hurry and comb your mascara through and do not let it dry long, that is why I advise you to apply one eye at a time! I have had major success this way. Dior Overcurl is my favorite mascara but I hate diorshow!

Once you apply the primer, let it sit for a couple minutes so it dries a decent amount, but not entirely. Then, apply the mascara. I have found that my mascara turns out far better when it is fused with the product, rather than layered dryly on top of it.

I found that this particular mascara base was like you have described after a couple of weeks of use. I try to apply in natural light so I can see exactly where the white is and then use a metal lash comb before it dries, a toothbrush can work well also. That being said the Lancome product is better in my opinion and my regular brand.

Question
Could it be worn by itself?
I usually don't wear mascara except for special occasions, and I'm looking for something that enhances my eyelashes and make them longer. Would it be alright if I wear this during the day WITHOUT mascara? Or would the eyelashes stay white if worn by itself? Thanks in advance.

answer 2
This product is not made to be used alone for day, as others have mentioned you'll end up with white lashes. You can, however, wear this alone overnight as a treatment. If you are looking for something to boost your lashes for day with out a heavy look of mascara, you may want to try Lash Injection in Hot Chocolate. This will add thickness and length and the brown will show more natural than the black. If you don't want to wear mascara at all, a simple pressing with a good lash curler (such as Shu Umera) will make a big difference in the look of naked lashes.

I have actually done this, and although you can faintly see something if you get really close, it is actually fine to wear this by itself if you just want to get them looking like they are naturally longer, and don't want to wear mascara.
I opted to wear mascara because my lashes look HUGE when I put this on first, but it is wearable alone.

I use the Dior Show, too, and I haven't had any problem with flaking. In fact, I use the primer with all my mascara, and I haven't had any problem with flaking or smudging, you know, getting those 'raccoon' eyes. The primer seems to work just like a primer on a wall, holding onto your paint and even drying it faster. That is my experience.

No, actuacly it looks more natural when mascara applied right after it. After a long term of use, it gets drier, so you get more product on. So you get more dramatic look. I guess the same effect will be once you whait till it dry before applying mascara on.

I have very thick and long lashes and use this because I notice if I fall asleep in mascara it damages them. I'd use it only at night because my lashes are so thick I don't really need a mascara "primer" to boost them. I just look odd. It does make them softer and fuller though! Haven't really worn mascara since using this for awhile.

I would suggest trying it, but only do a quick sweep on your lashes. I have similar lashes to yours and if I do more than one run through they get super extreme fake looking (sometimes a look I want, but not for a daily look). It conditions extremely well so I would suggest it for that. With Sephora's great return policy you could always try it out and return it if it doesn't work out. It takes a little use to get the correct handle on applying it so give it time.

I definitely recommend this product to everyone. Sephora recommended it to me and I am addicted to it. It really helps mascara stay on longer and it really helps to define lashes. This product is easy to regulate and if you have really full lashes already, you don't need to cake it on- not that anyone should "cake it on" anyways. A little goes a long way! I forgot to use it the other day and was surprised at how much of a difference it makes in my eyes. I say try this product- it is definitely a must-have in my makeup routine now.
