I don't think this is moisturizing at all (but it is not drying either). I layer it over oil-free moisturizer.

This moisturizer does have silicone, but that is good for oily, acne prone skin. I have problem skin and it works well for me. It is rated as a best pick for oily skin on Beautypedia.com. I have had problem, acne-prone skin and I am in love with this product. Keeps my oil slick face calmed down and matte, protects it from the dun, and is oil free and hasn't increased breakouts as many other mattifiers that I have tried in the past. I love it!

Question
usage with unwrinkle
I'm a dark skinned African Amercan woman and I use the original Unwrinkle; which I love! However, I have a very oily T-zone so I'm looking for something to use in combination with Unwrinkle that won't cause any breakouts, has an SPF rating and virtually eliminates shine. I don't use moisturizers or foundation because I'm so oily, so the other Unwrinkle products won't work for me. Thanks for any suggestions or feedback!

This is not going to eliminate all day shine. Unfortuntate, I know. Apparently skin that is releases oil more ages less quickly, on the bright side.

Hi none4u. It sounds like the Clini-Matte would be an excellent option for you, formulated especially for oily and breakout prone skin!

You might also want to check out the Oily Problem Skin Instant Mineral Powder SPF 30 which can be easily brushed on to reapply sunscreen and absorb excess oil throughout the day.

Question
Is this product drying?
My skin is on the oily side, but I tried a product similar to this (Murad oil control mattifier-- also functions as a moisturizer and a mattifier) and it was extremely drying, even on my oily skin! It made my foundation look awful and by the end of the day it was cracking... I looked like an alligator! I want to control the oil & shine that I get with my makeup by the end of the day, but without the irritation! Can anyone comment on this regarding the PTR mattifier lotion?

I haven't noticed any drying. It's like a regular lotion on your fingers but dries as soon as it's on your face.

It isn't drying to me. Maybe you are having a reaction to something in it. You should try something meant for sensitive skin with only mineral sunscreen ingredients and see if that helps.

I have really, really oily skin, particularly on the forehead and this stuff is great. It absorbs the oil and my skin doesn't feel greasy when I use this. There is only one other brand that made my skin feel ALMOST this good. This stuff is better, it's worth it.

Question
Worth the $$$$?
This is 60 bucks in Canada, which is almost double what I pay for my moisturizer now. I want to switch to a moisturizer with SPF and I've been told this one is really good but everytime I see the price I cringe. Is it really worth it?

In my opinion I would base buying this on what type of skin you have. If you have oily skin or combination skin and are needing help controlling the shine etc then by all means this is the product to get. Thats why I purchased it and for me the sunscreen was an added benefit. But to purchase just because it has sunscreen?? I'd keep looking.....other products for cheaper and could get one targeted for your skin type. Hope this helps!!

Question
Would this control shine better/longer, or would the Max anti-shine mattifying gel?
I've used the max anti-shine matify gel by PTR, and it does control shine but is hard to wash off. However, I haven't tried this yet as it isn't yet available in-stores here in Canada... so if it is reccomended that this would be a better alternative to the mattifying gel, than please Sephora look into carrying it here in-stores in Canada!

I think PTR Anti-shine Mattifying Gel is better at oil-control, but the Clini-Matte is better because it has SPF. I use the Mattifying Gel if I am going out in the evening, but the Clini-Matt during the day. Sometimes I layer them both over each other for extra oil-control during the day.
