Questions & Answers for Too Faced Borderline Smoothing, Anti-Feathering Lip Pencil

Question
How do I sharpen/get more product out?
Okay, I feel like an idiot. I bought this product but can't figure out if one is supposed to sharpen it (seems like plastic?) or if it somehow twists out?

I loved the product but sharpening is a horse of a different color. You need to sharpen it and wind up leaving part of the product in the sharpener because it is so waxy and the wood that encases it comes out jagged. If you are lucky enough to get it sharpened the product breaks. It really really works but not worth the price because of the waste.I took mine back.

Use a pencil sharpener. Preferably a new one that hasn't been dulled by other products.

It isn't the easiest pencil to sharpen. I haven't found that putting it in the fridge or freezer helps. What did help me was buying a new (presumably sharper) sharpener that I keep just for this. The Sephora brand sharpener works just fine for this.

I was confused too, at first. It IS a pencil, even though it doesn't look like it, and yes, you can sharpen it.

I felt the same way once when I bought a Stila liner, it did look and seem like plastic, I asked a guy at Sephora and he answered me, plus gave me a look like I was an idiot! Anyways though, you do just sharpen this one like you would other lip or eyeliners.

It is one that has to be sharpened. I haven't had to sharpen mine yet as I have not had it for a long period of time but I can tell it will be difficult to sharpen as it is fragile. It may help to put it in the refrigerator or freezer for a short period of time to harden the product before sharpening.I rated this product 5 stars,as it really is a wonderful product, but had I had the option to give it 4.5 stars I would have based solely on the fact that you have to sharpen it.It would be great if Too Faced made this in a pencil that all you had to do was twist the bottom to get more product out because this appears to be a product that will break easily when you sharpen it meaning you waste a lot of the product. I hope this helps.

Question
How do I apply this product?
How is this product to be applied? i.e., before or after lipstick? Fill in lips or just line them? Line them outside of the lips?

This is applied just outside the lip-line before you apply lipstick. It's clear and you don't have to pile it on. I love it! I usually re-apply after a couple of hours, but I use a cream lipstick with no liner, so I'm really just being extra safe.

The waxy pencil is for woman whose lipstick has a tendency to "bleed" into lip lines.
It is used before lipstick and is applied to the outer edge of your lips to prevent the lipstick from traveling into the lines above and below the lips.

It says to use all over your lips but I don't unless I'm going to be out a long time and don't think I'll have time to touch up my lips as this uses up the product pretty fast.

You apply it before lipstick/stain/gloss. Apply it AFTER you put on your foundation and any powder, or they will stick to it and look very obvious.

I try to line just the lipline but because it's see-through, I always get a little around my upper lip. It doesn't seem to hurt. There is no bleed and it isn't noticeable.
