Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional

What it is: A professional balm that minimizes the appearance of pores. What it does: Quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup stay put with this priming phenomenon. The silky and lightweight formula can be worn under makeup to create a smoother-than-smooth canvas or used throughout the day to mattify shine and touch up problem areas. It’s so translucent, no one will know you’re wearing anything! What else you need to know: The oil-free formula contains vitamin E, which is known to protect skin from free radicals.

this vs SmashBox Photo finish
Which one is better, Benefit's Porefessional or SmashBox Photo finish?
I want to hide large pores around my nose and cheek area.

I use both! :) I love Smashbox for an all over coverage, but in places where my pores seem more visible (my nose, in between my eye brows, and my chin) I use porefessional. Both products are great and are even better when used together.

I do not love primers but I definitely prefer this to Smashbox products. It is hard to describe but Smashbox primer sort of pills on my face. The primer plus my foundation roll off in little balls if I touch my face at all during the day.

answer 4
The primer you need depends on the makeup you want to put over it. If you're using a sticky, fast-drying makeup like Smashbox Studio Skin, the slick Smashbox primer is best. The sticky makeup slides on nicely over the super-slick Smashbox primers. If, however, you're using a slick makeup like MUFE HD or Nars Sheer Glow, the Benefit Porefessional would be better. It helps the slick foundation adhere to the skin. It won't streak and leave thin spots with Porefessional primer. I find that I get better coverage with this primer.

I've used both. I like the Benefit better. My smashbox is wonderful but clogs my pores and makes me oily within an hour. This one leaves me "matte" for longer.

Although both uses Dimethicone, the Pore-fessional does not feel like it's blocking my pores. The smashbox feels much thicker and my skin can not breathe. I have normal/combo skin and i do not have to reapply during the day.

Yes, fragrance is listed toward the end of the ingredient list. It's probably fairly mild (because the product doesn't seem to have any smell to it), but if your skin is sensitive, perhaps try a small sample before buying a whole tube.

There's no such thing as removing your pores. If you mean reduce pore size, then no it doesn't reduce the size of your pores. Instead it helps make them "appear" smaller in size which allows makeup to look more flawless and less cakey. If you need help with pore size, try using a serum in your skincare routine.

No, the tube-size that you're seeing is the largest (and only) size they sell. It isn't really meant as an overall primer, but more of a spot-primer. Still, it's pretty expensive for the price, and in my opinion, just not worth it.

The normal size will last a long time as you do not need to use a lot for covering up pores. A thin layer is needed, especially if you are using other makeup.

I ordered this online and as far as I know the only size that was available was the 0.75 fl oz. It is a small tube but you don't need to use a lot of the product to get the best results. Actually, I found that when I used the product all over my face, it dried my skin out. I only use a pea sized amount on my forehead, nose and cheeks. It's an amazing product! It really makes a big difference in helping with my foundation application.

Question
Compare to Too Faced Primed and Poreless
I love the way Primed and Poreless smooths my complexion. I love the velvet finish. BUT, as a primer used to help makeup last, it's not so great. Does this smooth and cover as well as P&P? Does it help makeup last longer also?

primed and poreless was horrible! it really depends on your skin type- i have oily skin, and while the porefessional controlled most of the oil, to a point where i could get away without using blotting papers, primed and poreless made my skin 10 times oiler, and i ended up blotting all day. i used it for 3 days, then returned it.

The Porefessional is very similar to Primed and Poreless. They both have a similar feel when applied. I don't find that the porefessional is really a great primer. The advantage to using the porefessional is that you only need to use it on problem areas so you can use a primer underneath it without feeling like you are using too much product. I personally prefer Primed and Poreless because it does a better job reducing my cheek pores.

will it work with BE foundation?
i have oily/combination skin & the BE primer broke me out (or i think it did..i stopped using it because i thought it was the problem, but i'm going to try it again possibly) and i tried the sephora anti shine primer, and my makeup came right off it.
will this work well with BE foundation & not make me oily? i really loved the feel of the BE prime time, is this similar? or can u recommend another primer?

Another thing I don't know much about the BE foundation but if its liquid I wouldn't use a primer I would use a moisterizer instead. Primers tend to seperate liquid foundation. If your using a powder then primer is ok like bare minerals. That primer works best for me plus it has vitamins in it. My makeup last forever with make up forever finishing powder glide it over the foundation of your choice and its sure to stay in place, doesnt make you oily and your foundation stays on your face doesnt smear or run

This primer doesn't leave my skin oily at all. I don't use this as an all-over primer though; I only use this on the areas I am concerned with pore size (parts of my cheeks, forehead, nose). I still use an all-over primer.

I really love Mally's Poreless Prep Primer in Glow or Illamasqua's Matt Primer as an all-over face primer.

This works as a primer which is used before putting on foundation . If you have good skin yourself, after using it, you no longer need to put on foundation coz you will see yourself's magic change after using this primer. I wear it daily with no other make up, it gives me a natural and neat look. When i go party, i put this on before foundation, it lasts long hours and keep my makeup fresh ! Very good to use.

The texture of the product is very silky; not wet, so you really do not have to wait for it to dry before applying foundation. If applying a light moisturizer, I would think you could apply this product immediately after, however if it is a heavy, or creamy mositurizer, I might wait long enough for it to soak into your skin before applying the product.
