Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional

What it is: A professional balm that minimizes the appearance of pores. What it does: Quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup stay put with this priming phenomenon. The silky and lightweight formula can be worn under makeup to create a smoother-than-smooth canvas or used throughout the day to mattify shine and touch up problem areas. It’s so translucent, no one will know you’re wearing anything! What else you need to know: The oil-free formula contains vitamin E, which is known to protect skin from free radicals.

Which one is better, Benefit's Porefessional or SmashBox Photo finish?
I want to hide large pores around my nose and cheek area.

I use both! :) I love Smashbox for an all over coverage, but in places where my pores seem more visible (my nose, in between my eye brows, and my chin) I use porefessional. Both products are great and are even better when used together.

I do not love primers but I definitely prefer this to Smashbox products. It is hard to describe but Smashbox primer sort of pills on my face. The primer plus my foundation roll off in little balls if I touch my face at all during the day.

answer 4
The primer you need depends on the makeup you want to put over it. If you're using a sticky, fast-drying makeup like Smashbox Studio Skin, the slick Smashbox primer is best. The sticky makeup slides on nicely over the super-slick Smashbox primers. If, however, you're using a slick makeup like MUFE HD or Nars Sheer Glow, the Benefit Porefessional would be better. It helps the slick foundation adhere to the skin. It won't streak and leave thin spots with Porefessional primer. I find that I get better coverage with this primer.

Although both uses Dimethicone, the Pore-fessional does not feel like it's blocking my pores. The smashbox feels much thicker and my skin can not breathe. I have normal/combo skin and i do not have to reapply during the day.

There's no such thing as removing your pores. If you mean reduce pore size, then no it doesn't reduce the size of your pores. Instead it helps make them "appear" smaller in size which allows makeup to look more flawless and less cakey. If you need help with pore size, try using a serum in your skincare routine.

Hmm! I've never thought to use this as a lid primer before you said something! I just tried it and it worked pretty well! I wouldn't recommend using it on eyes because that is not it's purpose, and could potentially sting your eyes. I recommend a real eye primer such as the Urban decay primer potion or the Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

No, the tube-size that you're seeing is the largest (and only) size they sell. It isn't really meant as an overall primer, but more of a spot-primer. Still, it's pretty expensive for the price, and in my opinion, just not worth it.

I ordered this online and as far as I know the only size that was available was the 0.75 fl oz. It is a small tube but you don't need to use a lot of the product to get the best results. Actually, I found that when I used the product all over my face, it dried my skin out. I only use a pea sized amount on my forehead, nose and cheeks. It's an amazing product! It really makes a big difference in helping with my foundation application.

Believe everyone has answered your question. I love the product. Did see a difference in diffusing pores. I wore it one day and when I took my makeup off that same night I noticed a couple red bumps on the areas where I applied the product. I only applied it where my pores were most visible. So unfortunate. I have combination skin with oily T zone. I do have sensitive skin. This product did not agree with me.

It's VERY lightly tinted... not enough to even really call it "tinted". I use it like a primer, so I use it under foundation. However if you don't normally use a foundation, you could absolutely use it alone. It will make your skin appear smoother, with smaller pores, and more matte. Hope this helps.

This product has a very tiny amount of tint. It really doesn't impact the product much. It is designed to be worn under your foundation. It does really improve the look of your skin, however, even without foundation. It substantially reduces the look of pores and even hides mild to moderate acne scars. It just fills these areas in and is not a foundation or heavy product whatsoever. It is weightless. I have oily skin and I would say that it helps control the oil. I don't think it impacts breakouts one way or the other.

It comes out looking tinted but it doesnt really deposit much color once blended in so its best to use with a foundation. It works for my oily skin by taking away the shine and creating a more matte finish. I use it under my make up (and over my primer as i only use a tiny bit of this on my t zone as opposed to my whole face). It can also be worn over make up if you neet to re touch. It really does make the skin more flawless by reducing the pores/

It's translucent, but it may or may not show up on darker skin tones. I have a medium skin tone, and it disappears really well into the skin. Of course moisturize your skin lightly before putting it on or give your face a good scrub for a nice even skin application. Flaky skin outline may be seen if you look up close, depending on how well you cleaned your skin.

For the break outs, I hear ya, 'cause I was worried about that but for me it didn't irritate my skin. As for foundation, it can be used under and over by the product box, I haven't used it with foundation yet as it does a fair job and minimizing shine thus the minimizing of pore appearance.

Hope that helps.

primed and poreless was horrible! it really depends on your skin type- i have oily skin, and while the porefessional controlled most of the oil, to a point where i could get away without using blotting papers, primed and poreless made my skin 10 times oiler, and i ended up blotting all day. i used it for 3 days, then returned it.

The Porefessional is very similar to Primed and Poreless. They both have a similar feel when applied. I don't find that the porefessional is really a great primer. The advantage to using the porefessional is that you only need to use it on problem areas so you can use a primer underneath it without feeling like you are using too much product. I personally prefer Primed and Poreless because it does a better job reducing my cheek pores.

This works as a primer which is used before putting on foundation . If you have good skin yourself, after using it, you no longer need to put on foundation coz you will see yourself's magic change after using this primer. I wear it daily with no other make up, it gives me a natural and neat look. When i go party, i put this on before foundation, it lasts long hours and keep my makeup fresh ! Very good to use.
