Chic Print for Nails

Chic Print for Nails

What it is:A breakthrough array of precut nail patches for extraordinary nails, instantly! What it does:This innovative line, brewed by Minx (and loved by your favorite celebrities) creates customized nails, featuring fierce patterns and prints to satisfy your wildest mani-and-pedi dreams. Dress your tips with your favorite design: anchor, stars, checkers, tiger, fishnet, chrome lace, black & gold geometric, or skulls. What else you need to know:One set of Chic Print for Nails contains 16 nail patches of varying widths, for a one-time application to fingers or toes. The nail patch is a solid-film material with an adhesive back that is activated by friction. The warmth from friction creates conformability, allowing the patch to fit over the compound curves of your nails and seal onto the nail bed. The patent-pending material removes easily by rubbing and peeling off.

Question
Sally Hansen
How do these compare to the sally hansen nail strips?

I have never used the sally hanson ones, but a friend did and said they were easier to use than the sephora ones. The sally hanson ones seem much thinner which is probably a better design quality.

These are NO comparison to the new Sally Hansen nail strips. Im on week two of those and these Chic Prints are just stickers. They feel more like car decals. Anyway, I have bought them twice, giving them two tries. Both times they lasted on day, if that. Total disappointment especially since there are some cute styles. Ill stick to the drug store.

They don't. While Sally Hansen's at least (claim to) last upwards of 10 days, Sephora's Chic Print for Nails tries to make "removes easily by rubbing and peeling off" sound like a plus.

I actually very much prefer SH nail strips to these. SH are more thin and easier to apply, they also last about 2 weeks.

I LOVE the Sally Hansen strips, but I was sort of getting sick of the patterns and bought these to try out some new designs. However, I will probably not buy these again because they are definitely not as wearable as the Sally Hansen ones. These strips are not very flexible and so they don't really fit the nail as well as the other ones.

Must be placed on a clean nail no polish. Clean nail with alcohol to remove excess oils.

I bought the star patterned ones and coulndn't find my polish remover so with all the excitement, i just applied them over the nail polish. I wouldn't recommend that. It didn't even last a day before it started peeling off. It was completely uneven also because the nail polish I had on was chipping off in the first place. It definitely wasn't the smartest idea I've ever had. Hahaha, hope that helped!

I don't know for sure, but I suspect they won't stick as well over nail polish as they do over bare, clean nails.

No, they are stickers so the top coat will just lay on top of the sticker.
Alcohol on the nails to make them dry works just fine

Hi

This is intended to be everything in one step. Applying anything over it might dissolve the product. I wouldn't risk it.

As far as I know, there are no solid color Minx. Some of them are less crazy than others (an orange and blue stars and stripes design was crazy, the silver-color lace was more subdued.)

If you are looking for solid colors try the InCoco brand. Much better and more like real nail polish rather than these which look like a sticker.

Yes! as of today January the 20th 2011 there are a few new ones. Pink fishnet (looks more like a peach than the original), silver fishnet, Swirl, and then they have the Glee collection. They have gold stars, navy blue polka dots and music notes.

Mine lasted 2 weeks. Here are the steps I took to keep them looking good:

-- I roughed up my nails with a nail file a little before applying. This gave the stickers something to hold onto.
-- I applied them with heat. I individually heated each decal with a hairdryer before applying. I started from the cuticle and stretched the hot decals onto my nails.
-- Don't use the glass file they suggest you use. DOESN'T WORK. You're better off with a normal file or a good crystal file.
-- After applied, file the nails a little past the edge of your nail. This makes them less likely to peel. As they peel, you can reheat them and file them down.
-- TAKE YOUR TIME! :)

I was able to get mine to last over a week by constantly applying a top coat to the edges that were peeling away from the nail. The peeling began within 24 hours of applying the patches.
