Questions & Answers for Too Faced Naked Eye Soft & Sexy Eye Shadow Collection

Question
Too Faced Naked Eye or UD Naked???
I am giving up on finding an UD Naked palette and am considering purchasing the Too Faced Naked Eye palette. I do not care for a lot of shimmer - I have read the UD one is "warmer" tones and the Too Faced is "cooler" tones. I have never tried anything in the Too Faced line - your thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

It totally depends on the look you are going for, but i've been hunting for ud naked for like a year and just ordered it from ud.com, i would say naked because it has more colors with different finishes (and im a brown shadow girl) but i use this palette for the days i dont want to do my eyes up; you still have somethng on and they look good without having it be too much or when you are layin around the house...the colors of both are very flattering to all skin tones too.

I prefer this one over the UD naked. The UD pallet has a lot of colors I had in other pallets from UD and they were colors I didn't use. Most of the left side of the UD one was a bit dark for my tastes. I am very fair and blonde. The Too Facednaked colors are much nicer than they look online, they have a lot of depth and are not too much on the cool side. Satin sheets, unmentionables, and lap dance are my favorites

This is more cooler toned than the urban decay naked palette, however if you get the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette instead of the Too Faced Naked Eye, it is more warm toned like the UD palette. I honestly like the Too Faced palette better than the Urban Decay because TF seems to have a more buttery texture to me than the UD. Don't get me wrong, the Urban Decay is great too, but I just lean more towards Too Faced. But yeah, I think the Natural Eye palette would have some closer dupes than this one. If you want more cooler tones, though, go with this one over the natural eye.

There are two colors that have some shimmer to them, but if you don't add alot of those colors then you won't have that shimmery look. There are these neat helper cards with the set, with pictures of where each color goes, and the shimmer is added as a highlight- not the main color. This is a good neutral-eye set.

i have always loved too faced cosmetics, they are highly pigmented , when you go to order, look for if the shadows are matte or shimmery, most sets have a mix of both

I, like many others, have been waiting to get a Urban Decay Naked Palette, but decided to pick up the Too Faced Naked Palette in the mean time. If you do not care too much for shimmer, then this palette is amazing. It is definitely cooler than the UD naked Palette, containing more grays and taupes than bronzes and browns, which I did not think would work for me since I have warm undertones. All in all, I love this palette, and I am not at all disappointed. It has some beautiful colors that have amazing payoff. I am still curious to try the UD palette, but am happy with this in the meantime.

I own both and I think they are both very different palettes dispite both having "Naked" in them. This palette is fantastic and good value and what I like is that you can create a variety of looks for both day or night and there's a nice variety of colors. Its hard for me to decide between the two, but I would check this one out. But the two are not very similar.

The quality of Too Faced products is top notch! The shadows glide on and last all day. And, if you're not looking for shimmer, or are specifically avoiding it, I think you'd be very pleased with this product -- the colors are neutral and light, but also pigmented, and the shimmers are not glittery or metallic looking. The colors in this palette are easy to wear, and the looks you can create with them range from a conservative to modestly stunning. (Whereas I'd describe the looks you can create with the UD palette as bold, striking, and with the exception of the three lightest colors, anything but modest.)

I think this product is worth it if you like neutrals and wear them often. The colours are very subtle but add a good 'day time' look. You can also mix and match different combinations so you have a lot of options with this collection. So I'd say for the 9 different complementary shades $35 isn't a bad price.

It is also very useable, all the colors, so you are not left with waste. When it comes to eye colour, I always have an extremely hard time finding colours that work; but I can assure you that, be it grey, green, and or blue, this palette will work for you perfectly. (something weird in my genetics, my eyes change colour)
When it comes to hair colour, I always have an extremely hard time finding colours that work as well; but again, I can assure you, be it blonde, bright blond, dark blonde, red, brunette, auburn, dark brown, or even black, this palette will work wonders for you (another weird inherited trait, I don't have just 1 hair colour, I was born with all the natural colours in a big mess on my head -.- lol)

I think this set is a great value but if you aren't into blacks and greys, you aren't going to be pleased with stiletto (matte black) at all. Unmentionables and lap dance aren't exactly greys, but they do have greyish, taupe tones. It sounds like another palette would be more to your liking. Personally, I love this palette. I'm also pale but my eyes are green and my hair is red.

I bought this for myself but plan on using it on my friend who has blue eyes. This does contain a matte black but has some really pretty brown and pink shades that will probably compliment your eyes and make them pop. It also has a great shade for highlighting on the brow bone. I'm pretty tan and it didn't clash with me. I thought it was a good value, it's definitely going to become a stable for me because of the neutral. Read the reviews and look at some other products if you're not completely sold yet.

When I got this case and saw the little cards I ask myself the same question as you! While tacking a good look at it and doing all the looks on my eyes I figured out that the eye on the cover isnt any of the cards! To me the cover is just another example they give you but with out instructions. The eye on the cover is very very easy to do. Once you will buy this case you will proboply understand how to do it since I guess you will practice diffrent looks with it.
The three cards they give you are juste simple ideas but trust me you can do so many diffrent looks with the palet without the cards.

If you want to know how to do the eye on the cover follow theese steps:

1. Apply In The Buff on your brow bone and on the iner corner on your eyes.
2. Sweep on Satin Sheets on your eye lids
3. Brush on Like A Virgin on you outer lid in a V kind of way, blending it would make a much more natural and soft look
4. Take Like A Virgine again and swipe it down your lower lash line
5. YOUR DONNE!

Based on the cards in the naked set, I believe it is the day look. The actual set looks icy blue green eye vs blue eye (FYI).
I have natural set (warm golden under tones) vs naked (cool pink undertones) Both are flattering in all three combos. Natural/naked but slightly different. Both look good on everyone I've given it too.
Now I like the Romanic set. But I call it more natural fun. All three looks are completely different color palettes. Day is natural browns, classic is pink and flattering lilac with a deep purple liner, fashion is glittery very light army green for center of lid and brown with copper flecks for liner lid. All three looks have looked nice on me, but not as everyday natural/naked ease. I use romanic when I want a bit of natural fun that day. Hope this helps

My best guess is that it is the classic selection.
For if they used fashion the brow would have sparkles and a deep purple eyeshadow, and if they had used day, they eye lid would have more of a brown tone than a pink. Personaly i albsolutely love this one! I also have the natural eye collection but prefer this one much more. Eye colour is key to picking the right eyeshadow; while naked eye works for most eye colours and moods, i would stick with the natural eye. But both would work =D

I haven't used the natural palette, but I own the naked one and a medium skin tone. The top row of shadows is subtle but it totally works. In The Buff is light enough to stand out against my skin and Like A Virgin is dark enough to define the crease without looking overdone. Pillow Talk is super light though; I use it wet and it looks just like my skin color... only shimmery. Still gorgeous though. Hope this helps!

I find in both collections the top row is lighter and i use it less--they would be when I really want light and natural no make up look. I use the middle row mostly on both. great work day looks. I find natural collection is warm with golden undertones, while naked is cooler and slightly more pink. Hope this helps.

I've got light-fair skin with brown eyes and hair and it takes a heavy application to get more than just a bit of color that enhances. If you're looking for something that really adds some pigment, only two or three of the available nine colors will work for you. I'd skip this one if the other palette isn't strong enough for you.

I have very fair skin and I had the same problem with the Natural Eye palette (I actually use "Heaven" as an under-eye concealer), but I am loving the Naked Eye natural trio. It is very light, but it's more taupe than flesh coloured so I find it shows up a lot more on my skin.

To answer your second question, I definitely find them different enough to be worth it. I use the Natural Eye palette when I'm matching to more of a gold oriented look (I always match makeup to jewellery etc.) and the Naked Eye to silver. I had the same concern but was able to try it on at a Sephora before buying and was pleasantly surprised.

I have both the Naked & Neutral palettes and I like and dislike certain shadows out of each one - but I find that it's just a matter of personal preference on which one is "better". In general, I find the Naked palette to be more subtle, less shimmery, more cool-toned, and overall more sophisticated than the Neutral palette, which seems to make more of an impact, is more shimmery/sparkly, warm-toned, and seems a bit more youthful than the Naked palette. I personally like the Naked palette better, as the colors compliment my skin better and I tend to avoid very shimmery shadows, but I still use a few of the shadows out of the Neutral palette.

I think the neutral is more usable overall - much more basic and goes with everything - Soft and Sexy is a little dressier, for going out, clubs, etc., but both are beautiful.

I love the Naked palette - the colors are perfect for everyday use! They are soft and muted, apply and blend easily, and look very natural (not made up). I am very fair and this palette is great for me, but may be too light for darker complexions.

I would choose the Naked palette just because the Neutral includes pretty basic shades of brown you can get anywhere. This has beautiful shimmery shades and also shades that can be used as a dramatic liner.

They're both pretty and can be neutral, However, Neutral is very shimmery. Lots of sparkle. That was the deciding factor for me and the reason I went with Naked.

Question
For Asians with a warm skin tone?
I am an Asian with a warm skin tone. I already have the Natural Eye palette and I love it, as it goes very well with my skin tone. Should I buy this palette? Or will it have too many cool toned colors and look bad on me?

Try the natural palette by too faced.

I think you could wear it, but you would have to work with it. I am cool undertones, and I can wear warm colors. I just have to play with them more.

Is this a good palette? Yes. BUT, it is not the *best* for your skin tone. This palette works best on fair-skinned women with cooler undertones.

I would NOT recommend this palette if you are looking for nudes:
-The nude colors (birthday suit, pink cheeks, pillow talk, like a virgin) will look ashy on you, and won't be as flattering as warmer-toned nudes. That being said, all the colors in this palette are gorgeous and well-pigmented.
-Instead, go for Urban Decay's Naked palette (I heard rumors that Naked2 has cooler tones, but I may be wrong).

I would recommend this palette if you want a good smokey eye palette, or need some good-quality basic shadows:
-Unmentionables and Lapdance are great smokey colors--they're not too heavy, and can be worn during the day
-Stiletto is a REALLY well-pigmented black shadow--I don't have any others that are this good. You could wear it as a liner!
-In the Buff is a great browbone highlighter--it's matte and not too obvious, great for everyday wear. Most browbone highlighters are too shimmery or too white--this is the best I have.
-Satin Sheets is a to-die for color! Beautiful on any skin tone.

I have light-medium skin with golden/yellow undertones. I ALSO have the Urban Decay Naked palette, but I always keep coming back to this palette for those great staple colors. The browbone highlighter in UD's palette is too shimmery, and the darkest color isn't pitch-black like this one. For my daily look, I use both palettes.

BOTTOM LINE: need great staple colors? look here. need nudes? get UD's Naked.

I have very cool-pale coloring & this kit is perfect for me - I did not choose the one you have because it seemed like the colors were much warmer with more yellow-undertones. Personally, I would stick with what you have - most of these are neutrals but some are definitely on the cool side.

A little colour never hurt anyone. I would say that there is a good chance that this collection will look amazing on you! You never want to just blend in with your skin tone; make sure some part of you face is dominant, be it lips or shadow. You can always blend the colour in if it is too much for you.

I have warm undertones as well, so I was not sure if the cool colors in the Too Faced Naked Palette would really work on me, but it does not disappoint! You have to play around with the colors and figure out how to blend so that they do not end up looking to grey-ish, but overall, this definitely works on warmer skin tones.

No, it will look good for your skin tone, since it is more so as neutral colors, it will give you a soft and subtle look. some of the colors that it includes looks great on all skin tones for example "Like a Virgin" is a taupe and looks good on all skin tones.

You're gonna have to try it, but it's a really light pallette. the brow highlighters may be too severe on dark skin.
The woman who sold it to me was indian and it really stood out 10x more on her skin than mine.

I can't say what it would look like on someone with darker skin. I'm very fair and the colors look light on me so it seems like it would look chalky on darker skin. I think Too Faced makes pallettes with darker ranges.

It'll look amazing on darker skin tones, the colors tend to fade away sometimes on causcasian skin tones I've noticed if you don't use primer first. But it'll look lovely and give you a soft, natural look for everyday :) I say defiantly buy it!
