That's the great thing about sephora , you can get multiple opinions and decide which you want to try. I put it under my make up some days (when it's extra hot outside ) and over my makeup on other days. Try it both ways and see which you prefer . Good luck

Question
This or DeSlick?
I'm looking for a good setting spray for every day and special occasion use. I have combination/oily skin, with clogged and visible pores, T-zone shininess, but also dry patches. Which is better for me: this or DeSlick? Thanks.

If you only get oily in your tzone i would recommend using a regular primer on your face and then either spray de-slick on your face before your makeup or after (but not both times unless your really oily). De-slick works amazing in my opinion but i have combo skin too like yours and i don't really use it in the winter months just spring and summer. I would recommend de-slick for spring and summer and special occasions cause it will last you through anything and the all nighter long-lasting for fall and winter when its colder.

I have similar skin. Combination with an oily T-Zone. I tried the All Nighter version and it was okay. Definitely go with the De Slick version. I have enlarged pores also, and this did not settle into my pores. Imediately your skin will look less powdery, if you use a finishing powder, but won't by any means leave you looking oily. It lasts for around 3 hours before I have to touch my powder.

I am a freelance hair/MUA and yesterday I used them both on all my prom girls. Honestly, I prefer using the De-Slick for events because over time, oil just naturally appears so I feel like it's better matte than shiny! For the daytime the All Nighter spray works wonders.

Bottom line: Day long event= De Slick

I have similar skin and this spray made my makeup look kinda clumpy at the end of the day.

I, unfortunately, have go pretty heavy (dark acne scarring-TMI, I know) with foundation and powder and my powder doesn't like this spray.

If you don't use powder, or heavy makeup, I would give this a go.

You can get a mini version for about $10 before you commit to a full sized bottle, too.

I believe you should use BOTH products. Ask a rep. -- if your skin is oily, you want to mattify it before you apply your foundation. This product will definitely work to hold your make up IN PLACE, but only if your skin routine and makeup routine does not make your skin any oilier than it already is. Hope this helps.. :)

I was trying to decide between this and de-slick, and I asked one of the girls at the store when I was buying. She said that unless you have SUPER oily skin, like really insanely oily, the regular all-nighter formula will work fine. I would recommend this first, and if it doesn't work out you can just return for the de-slick one.

I'd say especially since you have a combination of oily and non-oily skin, try this first.

I have oily skin as well with large pores on my nose (cute huh?) the way I was able to make this product successfull for me was to use a good foundation primer first (sephora brand for oil control or make up forever) then apply my foundation as usual with a good setting powder (bare minerals is what works foe me) then apply the all nighter to set it all. the foundation primer helps w/oil absorbtion and shrink the apperance of larg pores then the all nighter helps with holding it all on for the night! Good luck hope this suggetion helps

Is this going to come off with touching?
Okay, I have oily skin and usually my face looks a little melty after every 5 hours of having it on. So I'm hoping that'll change with this product. but I'm also wondering if it stays put all day will it come of when being touched or rubbed? like when i see my boyfriend and we kiss, all of my makeup usually comes off will this prevent it from doing that?

Really depends on what makeup or foundation you're wearing, but honestly, I'd say the amount that comes off or transfers is decreased by more than 60%. Nothing will make your makeup transfer-proof, but this spray helps so much in making your MU last all day & night

This helps to set your makeup, and it also helps to make it last longer. If you frequently touch your face, eventually it will start to come off. If your just kissing someone it won't rub off onto the other person. You should purchase the travel size, and test it out. Don't forget to prep your skin with a primer before you apply any makeup on.

I don't have oily skin so it's a bit hard for me to say if your results will be the same, however, I had problems before with foundation where I'd get a runny nose and wipe my nose and all my foundation was gone. Not so with this product -- I don't even see foundation on the kleenex. So it definitely slows down the process.

I have not seen another makeup setting spray UD has in their line up (It's called De-Slick and is specifically formulated for oily skin) at sephora, so if you try this product (say with a sample in the store) and find that it's not satisfactory, you may want to look into the de-slick and see if it's better before throwing in the towel altogether.

Can this work with a tinted moisturizer?
Today I cried and my tinted moisturizer smeared off and I didn't even swipe my eyes. I just patted underneath my eyes. But I love my tinted moisturizer (the Korres oil-free tinted moisturizer). I would love to be able to not worry about my tinted moisturizer smearing off when I cry.

It works really well with tinted moisturizer. I use Laura Mercier's oil-free tinted moisturizer and I have had no problems. I dust MUFE's HD Microfinish Powder after I apply the tinted moisturizer and before I spray All-Nighter on. I do recommend applying your mascara and letting it dry before using All-Nighter. I've had problems with smearing mascara (waterproof no less) if I apply All-Nighter first.

Probably. I didn't use with tinted moisturizer, but used moisturizer and then Bare Minerals foundation, and it worked well with that. (And I'd had a problem in the past when I cried with the Bare Minerals and it streaked, like what you had happen.) If you live near a Sephora, go try a sample and see how it works for you.

I find that this spray works better with full coverage liquid foundation than anything else. It truly is a MIRACLE product when it comes to that. However, for my everyday make up which is a tinted moisturizer, concealer, light powder, a little blush, natural eyes and lips, this does little to nothing to make it as long lasting as a full on face. This product is a MUST have, but if you're strictly an easy doer on products, I would think twice before investing.

I highly recommend applying it AFTER mascara. I use waterproof eyeliner and waterproof mascara. I used to apply the All-Nighter spray before applying my mascara but I found that it began to smear and wear down by the end of the day. I used it after mascara and lipstick; it seemed to help hold both through heat and sweat, though I use a waterproof mascara anyway and a long-last formula lipstick. The mascara and lipstick are great under everyday wear, but if I'm going to be hot and drippy sweaty or out in the sun long enough, they would move and melt. Applying the All Nighter alleviated this problem.

YES!! I live in Miami and sometimes I start sweating while I'm putting my makeup on! This is perfect for hot climates, environments, or for people who naturally sweat a lot ... its kind of what its made for. I've used it out dancing at night in Miami, during long hot days on vacation at theme parks and other outdoor locations, at the beach, and on the most humid days you could ever imagine and its worked wonders in every scenario. It's not perfect and if you have oily skin ( I don't), I'd imagine that you might need to touch up with powder at some point during the day or something if you are going for a matte look. And, if you have major skin issues that need covering, you'll have to make sure that you're using a good primer, concealer, foundation, and powder because just spraying this on top of cheap/bad makeup probably won't give you the best results. (I use Smashbox's primer and Makeup for Ever's HD primer, foundation, and loose powder). Prior to finding this, I would need to touch up multiple times a day with a powder foundation, now I rarely need to. It also works especially well with my eye makeup - it keeps my brow pencil on until I wash it off and when I wear eye shadow and/or liner it keeps it looking exactly the way it did when I applied it (I usually spray a bit extra around my eyes if I have shadow and/or elaborate eyeliner on).

I think this product is really quite helpful for preventing your makeup from sweating off. I spritzed it over foundation before going to the gym (yes, I admit I wear foundation to the gym) it really kept things in place through a pretty intense (read: sweaty) workout. Afterwards, I wouldn't say the way my makeup looked was a perfect 10, but it certainly looked pretty good considering the test I had put the All Nighter spray to.

This is "semi-sweat" proof. After a long night of clubbing and dancing, when I looked in the mirror (4 hours later), my eye make up stayed in place, but my foundation was gone. (Somewhat disappointing, but the product definitely helped prolong my makeup). However, when you're having a long night out that isn't very active, then it works wonders - will stay on the whole night!

I have worn this in the dead of summer and it's definitely helped my make-up stay put. I would definitely give it a try. The trick I find is multiple sprays and don't forget a primer too (I use smashbox).

I sweat like crazy and am very oily! My friend who works at sephora recommended this technique: apply your foundation, spray the all-nighter, then apply another thin layer of foundation and set with finishing powder. Its worked really well for me. I work in a restaurant and am constantly running around and sweating. With this technique I do sill sweat some/get oily but when I use blotting papers or even a tissue my makeup still stays put underneathn (not like some products where you blot and your makeup comes off with it) And that is during work time so during the average day when I am not sweating as bad it works well to. Definately worth a try.

Based on my personal experience with the product, I would say that this product is sweat-proof. I use it throughout summer and while on vacations in humid areas (ex: Las Vegas), and it definitely keeps my makeup in place. Hope this helps.

I wear it when I travel to areas where I know they tend to be humid and hot, and I need my makeup to stay put. It works every time. It's not drying, it doesn't add a film to your face, it's just like an invisible shield. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've had mine since the beginning of July, and I still have a lot left! I use a spray over each of my eyes, one on my forehead, and one on each cheek, and sometimes I feel like that's even too much over my face. A little goes a very long way with this!

I'd say using it once a day, 3 spritzes yes it will last you 8 weeks. However if you use it more than once a day or spritz your face til it drips it won't. ;)

i got this to start with because i didnt want to buy the large bottle if i didnt know how well it would work and i would say it lasted me a good 8-12 weeks, but i would only use it about twice a week. i think it varies between how many sprays you use each time you wear it, and how often you use it.

I just bought this product and personally it was a waste of money but it will last, if you use it every day, about five weeks or so depending on how much you use.

Probably. I don't use mine every day so mine tends to last a bit longer. Plus I have noticed that even though the bottle says to use 3-4 sprays, 2 is generally enough.

The instructions say that you only need a few spritzes to set your makeup, and the bottle is gigantic (to me at least!)

So, I would say yes, this should last 8 weeks, as long as you only use 2 or 3 spritzes once a day.

I myself have oily skin and I find All Nighter works very well to keep shine at bay even when I sweat. I have not tried UD De-Slick, but I read the reviews before choosing All Nighter and it seems that De-Slick does not hold the makeup as well.

If you have very oily skin, I would go with Urban's De-Slick, which like the name implies, is a setting spray geared toward oilier skin types. I don't know if Sephora has it yet, but its on Urban Decay's site.

I would totally recommend this product for oily skin. My own skin type is combo with aging concerns, and love the finishing touch provided by UD's All Nighter. Just be sure to use a few extra spritzes (4-6) to achieve the maximum setting effect.

I have very oily skin, and don't find that this product lives up to its claim for a shinefree face up to 16 h. It may be good for normal/dry skin. The mist is light and nice, but it leaves a film like lacquer.

I don't think so. I have normal skin andI don't have a problem with my skin looking oily unless it's super hot out and I'm actually sweating. When I use this, my skin does tend to end up looking oily after a few hours. It's definitely not that pretty, dewy effect. I would suggest using primer and a setting powder instead.

Yes, it will help reduce the shine for a longer period of time. My skin is incredibly oily and this product reduces my need for constant "powder" touch-ups. I use 6-7 sprays instead of the suggested 4.

This product is not specifically formulated to reduce shine. Urban Decay has another makeup setting spray in their line up that does not appear to be carried by sephora that is formulated for shine reduction.

This is the link from the company website about De-Slick, the shine reducing spray: http://www.urbandecay.com/categories/DeSlickOilcontrolMakeupSettingSpray.cfm
