That's the great thing about sephora , you can get multiple opinions and decide which you want to try. I put it under my make up some days (when it's extra hot outside ) and over my makeup on other days. Try it both ways and see which you prefer . Good luck

Question
This or DeSlick?
I'm looking for a good setting spray for every day and special occasion use. I have combination/oily skin, with clogged and visible pores, T-zone shininess, but also dry patches. Which is better for me: this or DeSlick? Thanks.

If you only get oily in your tzone i would recommend using a regular primer on your face and then either spray de-slick on your face before your makeup or after (but not both times unless your really oily). De-slick works amazing in my opinion but i have combo skin too like yours and i don't really use it in the winter months just spring and summer. I would recommend de-slick for spring and summer and special occasions cause it will last you through anything and the all nighter long-lasting for fall and winter when its colder.

I have similar skin. Combination with an oily T-Zone. I tried the All Nighter version and it was okay. Definitely go with the De Slick version. I have enlarged pores also, and this did not settle into my pores. Imediately your skin will look less powdery, if you use a finishing powder, but won't by any means leave you looking oily. It lasts for around 3 hours before I have to touch my powder.

I am a freelance hair/MUA and yesterday I used them both on all my prom girls. Honestly, I prefer using the De-Slick for events because over time, oil just naturally appears so I feel like it's better matte than shiny! For the daytime the All Nighter spray works wonders.

Bottom line: Day long event= De Slick

I have similar skin and this spray made my makeup look kinda clumpy at the end of the day.

I, unfortunately, have go pretty heavy (dark acne scarring-TMI, I know) with foundation and powder and my powder doesn't like this spray.

If you don't use powder, or heavy makeup, I would give this a go.

You can get a mini version for about $10 before you commit to a full sized bottle, too.

I believe you should use BOTH products. Ask a rep. -- if your skin is oily, you want to mattify it before you apply your foundation. This product will definitely work to hold your make up IN PLACE, but only if your skin routine and makeup routine does not make your skin any oilier than it already is. Hope this helps.. :)

I was trying to decide between this and de-slick, and I asked one of the girls at the store when I was buying. She said that unless you have SUPER oily skin, like really insanely oily, the regular all-nighter formula will work fine. I would recommend this first, and if it doesn't work out you can just return for the de-slick one.

I'd say especially since you have a combination of oily and non-oily skin, try this first.

I have oily skin as well with large pores on my nose (cute huh?) the way I was able to make this product successfull for me was to use a good foundation primer first (sephora brand for oil control or make up forever) then apply my foundation as usual with a good setting powder (bare minerals is what works foe me) then apply the all nighter to set it all. the foundation primer helps w/oil absorbtion and shrink the apperance of larg pores then the all nighter helps with holding it all on for the night! Good luck hope this suggetion helps

It works really well with tinted moisturizer. I use Laura Mercier's oil-free tinted moisturizer and I have had no problems. I dust MUFE's HD Microfinish Powder after I apply the tinted moisturizer and before I spray All-Nighter on. I do recommend applying your mascara and letting it dry before using All-Nighter. I've had problems with smearing mascara (waterproof no less) if I apply All-Nighter first.

Probably. I didn't use with tinted moisturizer, but used moisturizer and then Bare Minerals foundation, and it worked well with that. (And I'd had a problem in the past when I cried with the Bare Minerals and it streaked, like what you had happen.) If you live near a Sephora, go try a sample and see how it works for you.

I find that this spray works better with full coverage liquid foundation than anything else. It truly is a MIRACLE product when it comes to that. However, for my everyday make up which is a tinted moisturizer, concealer, light powder, a little blush, natural eyes and lips, this does little to nothing to make it as long lasting as a full on face. This product is a MUST have, but if you're strictly an easy doer on products, I would think twice before investing.

YES!! I live in Miami and sometimes I start sweating while I'm putting my makeup on! This is perfect for hot climates, environments, or for people who naturally sweat a lot ... its kind of what its made for. I've used it out dancing at night in Miami, during long hot days on vacation at theme parks and other outdoor locations, at the beach, and on the most humid days you could ever imagine and its worked wonders in every scenario. It's not perfect and if you have oily skin ( I don't), I'd imagine that you might need to touch up with powder at some point during the day or something if you are going for a matte look. And, if you have major skin issues that need covering, you'll have to make sure that you're using a good primer, concealer, foundation, and powder because just spraying this on top of cheap/bad makeup probably won't give you the best results. (I use Smashbox's primer and Makeup for Ever's HD primer, foundation, and loose powder). Prior to finding this, I would need to touch up multiple times a day with a powder foundation, now I rarely need to. It also works especially well with my eye makeup - it keeps my brow pencil on until I wash it off and when I wear eye shadow and/or liner it keeps it looking exactly the way it did when I applied it (I usually spray a bit extra around my eyes if I have shadow and/or elaborate eyeliner on).

I think this product is really quite helpful for preventing your makeup from sweating off. I spritzed it over foundation before going to the gym (yes, I admit I wear foundation to the gym) it really kept things in place through a pretty intense (read: sweaty) workout. Afterwards, I wouldn't say the way my makeup looked was a perfect 10, but it certainly looked pretty good considering the test I had put the All Nighter spray to.

This is "semi-sweat" proof. After a long night of clubbing and dancing, when I looked in the mirror (4 hours later), my eye make up stayed in place, but my foundation was gone. (Somewhat disappointing, but the product definitely helped prolong my makeup). However, when you're having a long night out that isn't very active, then it works wonders - will stay on the whole night!

I sweat like crazy and am very oily! My friend who works at sephora recommended this technique: apply your foundation, spray the all-nighter, then apply another thin layer of foundation and set with finishing powder. Its worked really well for me. I work in a restaurant and am constantly running around and sweating. With this technique I do sill sweat some/get oily but when I use blotting papers or even a tissue my makeup still stays put underneathn (not like some products where you blot and your makeup comes off with it) And that is during work time so during the average day when I am not sweating as bad it works well to. Definately worth a try.

You want to use this in addition to primer, they are 2 completely different products. This is to be used after you are completely finished applying your makeup. After all your makeup is on, hold the bottle about 8 inches from your face, and do 3 or 4 spritzes. I do 2 sprays in my t-zone, and one on each side of my face. You can literally feel this stuff suction your makeup to your face. It is incredible, and really works well!

Primer helps keep makeup staying put but also helps with applying the foundation evenly. As far asp purpose go they do overlap somewhat. I'd use primer over the spray if you have a limited budget. Use both if you have the money.

I use it in addition to a primer. You could use it instead of because the both products help make your make up last longer. I think All Nighter does a better job of making makeup last than primers I've used in the past (Bobby Brown, Laura Mercier, Benefit). However I still use primer because I think it makes my foundation look so smooth. So I start with That Girl primer to make my skin smooth and end with a spritz of All Nighter to lock in my make up.

I use a primer to fix eye shadow, but you don't really need it under foundation except to reduce pores.

You need Primer...they do different things. Primer preps your skin - prepares the "canvas" - the setting spray sets your makeup in place

I use a primer before my makeup, and this afterwards. The primer alone didn't keep my make up in place.

This wouldn't smooth out and plump your skin like a primer might, it'll only keep makeup from moving.

This would be used in addition to a primer. The primer is there to help make the makeup go on smoother (face), eye primer holds the eye makeup in place and makes the colors POP. "All Nighter" locks it all down and holds it in place making you look fabulous until it's time for the makeup to come off.

Question
Instead of setting powder?
I hate using a pressed or loose powder after applying foundation because it makes my skin look cakey. I have dry skin and was wondering if this could be used in lieu of setting powder?

I had the same problem. I spritz this on after a very light application of powder and find it works perfectly. No cakey appearance. Everything seems to 'set' as one product.

If you are looking to make your makeup last longer and reduce the carekyess this will do the trick. If you are merely concerned about the cakeyness alone I'd recommend using something cheaper, like filling a diffuser bottle with water (as long as it creates a fine mist) or buying one of those evian sprays. Any moisture on your face will reduce the cakeyness really.

Setting powder always makes my concealer look cakey and my skin too powdery and dry. This product does not change the underlying makeup's appearance, but just locks it in place. When I use this, my Laura Mercier concealer conceals for hours without globbing, creasing, fading. BUT you should spray this product on after you've applied all of your makeup - not just your foundation/concealer.

This is a great replacement to setting powder. You won't even notice its on, you can't feel it or see it. You'll only remember you have it on at the end of the day when you look in the mirror and your make up is still on and where you put it.

works far better than loose or pressed powder. Gives a dewy finish, but if you prefer matte, use a tiny bit of loose powder first. It never cakes with this product over it.

YOu can use this rather than a powder finish. There are also hydrating setting sprays out there that you may prefer over this one.

This will work if you do not use a setting powder but the results will not last as long. I have tried a light dusting of corn starch in lieu of a setting powder and that works for me.

I've used powder for years! This doesn't compare. Powder can get "cakey". All Nighter gives you a healthy glow, you don't get creasing like you do with powder

I have dry skin too, and used bare minerals makeup (what lead me to using powders, I have no idea). BUT, one thing I learned was to use loose powders and not pressed powders. Also, my dermatologist taught me the trick of mixing a small amount of petroleum jelly with water in my hand, and using that as a plumping moisturizer. Sounds crazy, but it works!

And yes, I'd reccomend this for dry skinned folks like myself.

I myself have oily skin and I find All Nighter works very well to keep shine at bay even when I sweat. I have not tried UD De-Slick, but I read the reviews before choosing All Nighter and it seems that De-Slick does not hold the makeup as well.

If you have very oily skin, I would go with Urban's De-Slick, which like the name implies, is a setting spray geared toward oilier skin types. I don't know if Sephora has it yet, but its on Urban Decay's site.

I would totally recommend this product for oily skin. My own skin type is combo with aging concerns, and love the finishing touch provided by UD's All Nighter. Just be sure to use a few extra spritzes (4-6) to achieve the maximum setting effect.

I have very oily skin, and don't find that this product lives up to its claim for a shinefree face up to 16 h. It may be good for normal/dry skin. The mist is light and nice, but it leaves a film like lacquer.
