This or DeSlick?
I'm looking for a good setting spray for every day and special occasion use. I have combination/oily skin, with clogged and visible pores, T-zone shininess, but also dry patches. Which is better for me: this or DeSlick? Thanks.

I am a freelance hair/MUA and yesterday I used them both on all my prom girls. Honestly, I prefer using the De-Slick for events because over time, oil just naturally appears so I feel like it's better matte than shiny! For the daytime the All Nighter spray works wonders.

Bottom line: Day long event= De Slick

I have similar skin and this spray made my makeup look kinda clumpy at the end of the day.

I, unfortunately, have go pretty heavy (dark acne scarring-TMI, I know) with foundation and powder and my powder doesn't like this spray.

If you don't use powder, or heavy makeup, I would give this a go.

You can get a mini version for about $10 before you commit to a full sized bottle, too.

I believe you should use BOTH products. Ask a rep. -- if your skin is oily, you want to mattify it before you apply your foundation. This product will definitely work to hold your make up IN PLACE, but only if your skin routine and makeup routine does not make your skin any oilier than it already is. Hope this helps.. :)

I was trying to decide between this and de-slick, and I asked one of the girls at the store when I was buying. She said that unless you have SUPER oily skin, like really insanely oily, the regular all-nighter formula will work fine. I would recommend this first, and if it doesn't work out you can just return for the de-slick one.

I'd say especially since you have a combination of oily and non-oily skin, try this first.

I have oily skin as well with large pores on my nose (cute huh?) the way I was able to make this product successfull for me was to use a good foundation primer first (sephora brand for oil control or make up forever) then apply my foundation as usual with a good setting powder (bare minerals is what works foe me) then apply the all nighter to set it all. the foundation primer helps w/oil absorbtion and shrink the apperance of larg pores then the all nighter helps with holding it all on for the night! Good luck hope this suggetion helps

Can this work with a tinted moisturizer?
Today I cried and my tinted moisturizer smeared off and I didn't even swipe my eyes. I just patted underneath my eyes. But I love my tinted moisturizer (the Korres oil-free tinted moisturizer). I would love to be able to not worry about my tinted moisturizer smearing off when I cry.

It works really well with tinted moisturizer. I use Laura Mercier's oil-free tinted moisturizer and I have had no problems. I dust MUFE's HD Microfinish Powder after I apply the tinted moisturizer and before I spray All-Nighter on. I do recommend applying your mascara and letting it dry before using All-Nighter. I've had problems with smearing mascara (waterproof no less) if I apply All-Nighter first.

Probably. I didn't use with tinted moisturizer, but used moisturizer and then Bare Minerals foundation, and it worked well with that. (And I'd had a problem in the past when I cried with the Bare Minerals and it streaked, like what you had happen.) If you live near a Sephora, go try a sample and see how it works for you.

I find that this spray works better with full coverage liquid foundation than anything else. It truly is a MIRACLE product when it comes to that. However, for my everyday make up which is a tinted moisturizer, concealer, light powder, a little blush, natural eyes and lips, this does little to nothing to make it as long lasting as a full on face. This product is a MUST have, but if you're strictly an easy doer on products, I would think twice before investing.

This helps to set your makeup, and it also helps to make it last longer. If you frequently touch your face, eventually it will start to come off. If your just kissing someone it won't rub off onto the other person. You should purchase the travel size, and test it out. Don't forget to prep your skin with a primer before you apply any makeup on.

I don't have oily skin so it's a bit hard for me to say if your results will be the same, however, I had problems before with foundation where I'd get a runny nose and wipe my nose and all my foundation was gone. Not so with this product -- I don't even see foundation on the kleenex. So it definitely slows down the process.

I have not seen another makeup setting spray UD has in their line up (It's called De-Slick and is specifically formulated for oily skin) at sephora, so if you try this product (say with a sample in the store) and find that it's not satisfactory, you may want to look into the de-slick and see if it's better before throwing in the towel altogether.

I don't know if you already do this, but a primer will work wonders in your case. I can't live w/o my primer. It preps the skin and makes your makeup last the entire day. A primer is also great for oily skin. This spray will help set it even more, helping it give a more natural look to your makeup. Hope this helps! Good luck...

Try the one for oily skin. At worst return it. The only product I know for certain that works for large pores is Burt's Bees complexion mist. It's good for a pore touch up, but the effects don't last long. It easily makes ur lips way chapped due to the citrus content.

I also have the same issue. This setting spray made didn't fix that problem.

I now use a smoothing silicon primer (Smashbox) and/or an oil free moisturizing gel (Clinique) as a base under my makeup, as I have dry yet somehow oily skin.

I would suggest a primer that's suited to your skin type underneath your foundation.

I also recommend using a fluffy powder brush and loose powder if you aren't already. Go light on the powder, and bring some with you for touch ups during the day and/or get oil blotting sheets.

Hope this is helpful!

Question
Can this be used with mineral foundation?
I recently started using Bare Minerals foundation and found this while looking for something that would help give me a little peace of mind that I'm not going to sweat it off at work.

Would this be a possible option, or has anyone tried it with some kind of powder/mineral foundation system?

Yes I apply this over bare minerals. Makes your skin dewy, minimizes that cakey look that mineral foundation sometimes have. And it stays on! I have very oily skin and I don't even touch up in the afternoon!

I use this with urban decay's mineral powder foundation (the color is better for my skintone than the bare minerals options) as well as the bare minerals mineral veil. It works great with these products in my opinion.

Yes, I use mineral makeup, and it works great. Apply your make up, then sray this about 6 quick sprays around your face. Then gently pat your face (don't rub!) it will absorb quickly, and set your make up for the day!

I haven't had any problems with it on mineral foundation. It's a really fine mist, so don't go overboard, but a light misting does the trick.

I wear Bare Minerals make-up and also use the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray everyday and my face always looks flawless! It doesn't matter if it is a night of dancing or a day at the beach, my make-up still stays perfect!

This stuff works great over loose and pressed powders as well as any other medium you might put on your face (though I have not tried it with grease paint...yet)

Yes, just be sure that you don't have the bottle too close to your face, the further away the lighter and more even the spritz.

Yes, I was skeptical at first thinking spraying liquid over my finished make up will ruin my gergous make up but it works perfectly fine and before you know your skin absorbs the liquid. However, for me, my combination skin requires Urban DEcay Smooth Operator first, before I use this spray. Two of them together makes a perfect team!

HINT: Look for reviews written by those in your age group!
I'm in the 45-54 age catagory (I think those are ages?). Especially for make-up & skin care products, a review written by a 17, 24 or even 34 year old, most often is not apropos or of any benefit to me.
