Questions & Answers for Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Curl Perfecting Conditioner

Question
best natural conditioner for detangling?
I've used the Black Vanilla smoothie before and it works OK for my very curly, dry and fine hair. I'm having a ton of trouble combing conditioner through my hair in the shower and am ending up tearing out knots and tangles. I'm desperate to find the right conditioner that's very hydrating and smoothing with a lot of "slip" for detangling this mess that's my hair in winter!

Before switching product try changing the way you are putting the conditioner in your hair and combing it through. Start by just potting conditioner on your hair from the point where you'd put it in a low pony all the way to the ends. Then, cup the ends in your hand and scrunch your hair up toward the scalp (like you would do with gel) and squeeze. That should work the conditioner in. Last start finger combing the conditioner through starting at the very ends and working your way to longer strokes until you are finger combing from root to tip.

This sounds like it would fit the bill for you, but I'm wondering if you've ever tried any of the Ouidad products including their double comb...

I wouldn't suggest this JUST for detangling. It definitely helps, but it sounds like you have a very hard time detangling. I would suggest the rosemary mint conditioner for that. I use it every couple of days to conditioner-wash my hair, or just as an extra moisturizer. I can't use it alone because my hair is so curly it doesn't provide enough hold, but as a detangler it is AMAZING!!

hope this helps....

This product is excellent for detangling, you also need a decent wide tooth comb, and the correct technique. You might want to let the product soak in while you shave your legs and then detangle. When detangling always section hair and start from the bottom. In addition shampooing your hair too often might be causing your hair to get very dry. I also suggest that you find a good leave in conditioner or if that is lacking you can always leave a little bit of this product in your hair after detangling.

For one thing, I suggest that you don't come your hair in the shower. I used to have the same problem years ago, and I would just ended up ripping my hair instead. Just comb your hair once out of the shower. As for the conditioner, I do feel like this will help if you have to comb through your conditioner.

Are you talking about website to website? Because if so, I would say the correct answers are either sephora.com or carolsdaughter.com.

If you are saying it differs set to set, that's because the products are slightly different. One set is for curly hair specifically, one set is curly hair light and the other set is the original

The actual product states that it is paraben free, and free of petroleum, mineral oil, and artificial color. Sulfates are listed in the actual product ingredients.

The companion shampoo is, however, sulfate free.
