I would say get an in-store application to try it out! I have olive skin but i do get very pale in the winter. Its too dark for me during those month,s but for the spring summer and fall its perfect! I would love it if Tarte would come out with a shade lighter for girls with fair skin and those hibernation months! This bronzer is great, but who wants to spend 30$ and be disappointed?! Sample it up!

I have very pale skin - think Germany, Holland, Denmark etc. and this bronzer is not too dark for me. It looks terribly dark in the container and I really hesitated to use it when I opened it.

Even on my skin it takes two passes with a brush to really
show up, it is so sheer and buildable. I only use it on my
cheeks for contour, so can't say how it works elsewhere
on the face. It gives a beautiful, luminous, natural-looking
glow and gives my round face real contours, just like a pro
would make it look. It works much better for me than a
Nars multi-stick in a similar color because the Tarte
bronzer looks much more natural. Hope this helps!

No - this bronzer is really meant for people with fair skin. I have very fair skin and usually cannot use bronzers because they make my skin look fake or dirty. This is the first bronzer I have found that looks natural on pale skin, while still delivering some decent tan color. I've been using it for a couple months now and have all good things to say about it - just be sure to use a light hand in applying it on your cheeks, nose and forehead. If done too heavily right away it can look fake. If I want a tanner color for night time, I apply it twice - the second time after waiting a few minutes.

It is GREAT for fair skin. It is very natural and doesn't have a strong orange undertone as a lot of bronzers do. The fact that it is matte is also a plus since it only helps the product to give a more natural finish.

Question
Wondering if this would be a good body bronzer as well?
Going to Disney World in a couple of weeks and I am trying to find a good body bronzer without having to use a self tanning product (hate the smell) that will stay put all day, through the sweat and the rides, that looks natural or at least without shimmer. I have somewhat fair skin and green eyes so I'm wanting a somewhat natural color so I won't be mistaken for a character at DW! Thank you for any help.

I think this is a small compact to use all over the body. It is also sheer, therefore you would need to layer it and you woul drun out. You make want to use another. I use Bare Minerals Faux Tan, it is aplied with a brush, blends well, immediate color, then develops your own. It is not watterproof though but gives a nice real color.

Sounds like we have the same skin tone and eye color...best body bronzer is Lorac TANtalizer, will stay on til you wash it off even walking all day at Disney and has a gorgeous shimmer but not middle school glitter. It's $32 and you get a decent sized tube of it! Good luck...

I'm olive toned so this really works for that skin tone... But I think this is a safe color to play with because you can go as heavy or light as you like. In order to contour try using the SEPHORA COLLECTION I.T. Face Contour Brush Face Contour Brush it's kinda pricey but I think this is well worth the money. The small brush helps you put the bronzer right where you want it. Using the right brush can make a huge difference. In order to contour try the '3' technique...start at the temple (right outside the end of the eyebrow) and drag the brush right underneath the cheek bone and back out and down the jaw line toward the chin so by the time your done its like you've made an invisible '3'. Do that on both sides and then just drag the brush lightley down the nose and around the hairline on the top.. I hope that makes sense...you can try googling it on you tube....lots of good videos and bronzer opinions, I love this one tho :)

I also have fair skin and I use this for contouring. It doesn't look orange at all. Use a light hand though, you don't want to have a super harsh bronzed line. If you're looking to contour your cheeks, the method that works best for me is making a fish face. Suck in your cheeks to make a fish face and then place the bronzer in the hollow right underneath your cheek bone. Blend it out afterwards so you don't have a harsh line. Hope this helps!

Not at all the color loooks very natural even if you layer it on thick it still doesnt get chakey or orangey. If you are going to use blush with this i would go with nars orgasm because it has the built in highlighter you want to put the bronzer first in the shape of a 3 focusing on your cheeks starting at your temple down and then blend into your lower jaw line. put the blush on the top of the bronzer right under your eye when you smile...that round part is where u want to put your blush itll give it a pop. if your just going to do bronzer no blush then i would just use my highlighter in all the main areas first before adding your bronzer and then you can go over with your highlighter for any extra contour. type contour face into youtub there are tons of great videos.!

answer 6
1. Use your natural bone structure to guide you.
2. To contour, use darker colors for areas you wish to recede, and lighter colors (w/sparkle for more dramatic effect) for areas you wish to bring out.
3. Be subtle, though can be more obvious for stage, or low-light environs.
4. Make sure to blend the colors into each other where they meet, as well as into your natural color where they end.

I have light skin and and a round face. I like contouring in a J-shape from temples around the apples and the color looks beautiful and great on everyone! The $15 version is great and includes a brush if you're hesitant, don't forget the sephora return policy too!

No, this isn't orange. I too am extremely pale, and this makes me look sun kissed. I use it to contour also, but just brush it on the apples of my cheeks and then use a taupe shimmer on my cheek bones. This gets just the right amount of bronzer into the hallow, while still popping my cheek bones with the shimmer. I use MAC Shroom eyeshadow for the shimmer. Hope that helps! Enjoy your bronzer, I bet you'll love it!

if you use it without any foundation yes. i think if you use this with a thick foundation not only this product but any bronzer will look cakey. try to use a tinted moisturizer and set it with hd make up forever powder it will really keep your makup on even in humidty then after using the face powder id use the bronzer. make sure you stiple the makeup powder. (pour some out onto a tissue then tap the tip of your brush into it, your going to take the brush and push the powder onto your skin over and over again lightly and repeat on the entire face this gets the product onto your skin really nicely to ensure your sweaty dripy makeup is a goner in no time!) if my explanations confusing type stiple makeup powder into google lol

I had it on running around doing wedding errands for a friend over Memorial Day weekend, which was hot for us here in Boston. Maybe not as humid as Florida, but I was sure sweating a storm and didn't find this to budge. In fact, to get all of it off, you'll need to use makeup remover or some kind of toner to get it all off your face at the end of the day. My regular face wash alone didn't get all of it off.

I think it might have a bit too much brown. It has no shimmer or shine to it so I think it might dull out your face if you use it as a blush. Tarte has a12hrblush in 'exposed' and its very natural brownish kind of color I think that might work for you. It's long wearing and has very little shimmer so it won't dull you out

I own both. The matte one looks a little darker on the skin than the glitter one, which reflects a bit of light due to the fine gold flecks. They are both nice, but I find myself using the matte one more because I don't want to look shiny during the day. It's a good bronze color for fair/light skinned complexions. It doesn't show up well on medium to dark skin.
