I found that even though the brush came out pretty far, it was still hard to get the color out and just today was about to clean it and it broke completely.

The brush on this particular retractible one comes out of the tube pretty far, and cleaning it isn't an issue. & It stays clean, even though it floats around in a zippered pocket in my handbag!

This is a lip brush. I usually spray it with a liltle alcohol cleanser and use the back of my (clean) hand to move it around a little. Blot it on a paper towel and I am good to go. Its all of15 seconds

I would invest in a quality brush cleaner for this brush because it is more expensive. I have this brush myself and it is worth the cleansings! best of luck!

If you pull up to open the brush, and then pull the brush part, it'll come out of the retractable part. You can then clean it like a normal brush, then click it back in place.

The brush pops up easily from within to clean and is supposed to retract and close so as to stay clean.

Nope, the brush doesnt really touch the container it retracts into, so you can just clean the brush portion as you normally would.

Question
can it be used with matte lipstick.?

For lipsticks: you bet!
I use my lipbrush for Besame lipsticks and it's perfect. The shape of the lipstick is vintage but awkward and I was getting it all over places I didn't want it to go (Victory Red does not clean off easily.) With this brush, I can use only however much product I wish and I have much better control over the application. I genuinely believe it lasts longer too.

It depends on how deep you need to go ... the casing of the brush is so wide, and blunt I can barely get it into a tube of lipstick.

answer 5
You should be able to use this with any lipstick/gloss. I use it to dig the last bits of color out of old lipsticks or lip crayons that I couldn't otherwise use. However it doesn't pick up the color very well, so you'll have to keep going back to the color, which means it takes a while to cover your lip. (The first time I used it it almost made me late for work because it took so much longer to use!)

I've had this brush for months and use it 6 to 7 times a week. It has hardly shown signs of wear (could be the fact that I obsessively clean my brushes after every one or two uses). Maybe you're being too rough with it?

Question
Measurements?
Would someone please give the measurements of this retractable lip brush, particularly the length of it while capped? If you have a tailor's tape measure & can also measure around the largest part of the barrel, that would be quite helpful, too. I need to replace the missing lip brush in a small palette. If anyone takes time to do this, consider yourself hugged for helping a Sephora Sister in need!
