Question
Medium or Dark?
Which color should I get? I have white skin (in between fair & medium), brown hair, blue eyes. I get really tan (not red) in sunlight. I'm looking for the darkest color I can get. Thanks.

I bought Med-Dark and have medium skin tone. I got glowing dark color in 3 days of use. So you may want to not apply 3 days in a row for more fair skin tone. May be too dark for fair skin tone.

for the darkest you can get try the "medium-dark" formula. i have fair skin and burn easily and don't always tan after the sun burn goes away, and the "light-medium" formula took 3 applications for me to even notice any color. the sales girl in the sephora store was showing me the mousse (which is tinted) and even a spray (which i think is kinda messy by reading other reviews)

While I've never used St Tropez on my face; if you're looking for a facial self tanner I would recommend Clarins Radiance. Your tan builds gradually, I've had no issues with streaking or orange looking color and it hasn't irritated my skin. Hope this helps.

Jergens is ok, but I definitely like this better. First the smell is MUCH better with St. Tropez. Also, the application is less streaky, and it lasts longer. Overall, it's just a better product. What I like to do is use St. Tropez in the warmer months when I'm consistently showing my legs, and then use the Jergens in the colder months when I'm applying it less often and don't need such a precise, perfect tan.

In my opinion, this product is better than Jergens, but then again it is at least double the price and will run out much faster. Jergens did not give me any color though, so I guess it depends what skin tone you are. You're probably better off getting a self tanning product that you use 2-3 times a week on top of the Jergens. I've heard good things about the St. Tropez mousse, it lasts longer and is only $10 more than this product. Good luck :)

Much better. No orange tone and no blotchy out come. As long as you rub in well it should look great. Also make sure to moisturize elbows, knees and ankles. I use Josie Moran Argan oil. The good part of gradual tanner versus regular self tanners is that it allows room for error as you eventually will get all areas where with self tanner it shows right away. I origially used the light med not dark enough. Switched to the med dark and worked great.

Question
Is the light/medium version to pale for you?
I've read quite a bit of comments and most people say that the light/medium version is very natural looking. I have fair skin tone and I would like a bump up or two on the tan level. My question is, are the results noticeable??
Is the money for this product worth it if the results are too gradual?

I am pale, but not super-pale, and I have used both hues. Both work great. The lighter one is more foolproof and more of a "glow" whereas the darker hue is more tan-brown and you have to be more careful of streaks. The trick I've found to work for me is to use the darker hue but mix a little body lotion with it. That way I get the darker hue but less streaks.

Gradual but that's what you want especially if you're pale .. you don't want it to look 'fake' and tanning is a process.. gradual and then it will last longer and look more natural.

Hey there,

I bought the light/medium gradual tan and the results are noticable enough for a gradual product. It isn't obvious on the first try, but you will personally notice a difference and as you keep applying the product every day (or as often as you want) you will see good and natural colour payback! Hope this helps

I have fairly pale skin, and I opted for the medium/dark lotion. The results were still pretty gradual, but I saw a slight but noticeable boost in color in one day and more substantial boost in 3-4 days. The color was even, and I feel like I got more of my money's worth than if I chose the lighter lotion.

Honestly, I think you're better off with the NARS illuminator product. It's NOT self tanner-- but it's body makeup, and it will give you a very pretty sheen which will even out your skin. I have both this product and the NARS product; I use the NARS for special occasions or when I want instant color. Just keep in mind that it is MAKEUP, not self tanner, because lots of people make the wrong assumption. I think the St. Tropez products are made for light to olive skin tones.

If you are looking for quicker result you may want to use twice a day as I only use once. I think it smells good and my boyfriend thought so too. I dont think you should mix with other creams then you may have and unusal combination.
