Questions & Answers for St. Tropez Tanning Essentials Self Tan Bronzing Spray

Question
how long does the tan/bottle last?
How long does the tan last (i.e. once I've applied it, how long until it starts to fade and I have to reapply it)? And does anyone know how many applications you can get out of the bottle (i.e. when will I have to purchase again)? How does it compare to the other St. Tropez products in terms of how long the tan lasts/how many tans per bottle? I just want to make sure I get the most bang for my buck, because this stuff is pricey but sounds totally worth it.

There is not a real clear answer on how long a bottle lasts. It depends on several factors such as body size, the amount sprayed, and how often you reapply. If you are average size and use it pretty lightly once a week you should get about 10 weeks worth.

You will see results within the first day. If you apply again the secomd day you will see a signifigant change. The spray can lasts several applications.
It would be nice if it wasnt so expensive.

The tan if you want to call it that lasts about 2 days you have to use so much of it to see anything so the bottle lasts only maybe 1.5 weeks

Hello,

I think the tan will last differently on everyone. Once I applied the mist, the tan lasted me about a week!

Depending on your skin color, one can will last 2-5 applications. If you have no color at all, one can will get you through one full-body application with touch-ups OR if you already have some color, it will last longer. The Bronzing Spray does not last as long as the lotion, but I think the color is much, much better. I didn't love the foam, it stained too quickly and left me uneven.

I have used the lotion as well & both tans last as long, I think the spray is easier to apply but you get more uses out of hte bottle. The spray is easier to do touch up to the chest, shoulders, back & arms.
I usually get 4 complete body tanns & about 3 touch ups. I don't know any profession spray tan that is that affordable & some are not as good!
Be sure to exfoliate before use & moisturize often to keep the tan longer

So far for me it has been gradually fading away, although it was subtle to begin with (I only used one application).
I'd say a few weeks it lasts?

I have a couple tattoos and it didn't affect them at all. It made my skin have a natural looking tan like I had been laying out at the beach for a couple days. Never turned me orange at all either. The color is more of a dark bronze after a couple applications.

i steer clear from tanning products that will make me look orange. so far i have gotten a light golden color. if you want a richer tan you are definitely going to need to use this multiple times a week. and you won't look orange and streaky. i have tattoos also and i haven't found any problems so far. just make sure that after you spray you rub it in a little with your hand to smooth it out.

I do multiple light layers instead of on single heavy application to avoid being orange and cakey. Apply lotion to hands, wrists, feet and ankles pre-tan to avoid the tell tale orange/yucky look!!

I've applied this several times now, and never had an orange appearance. The color is very much bronze, but it goes on quite light, so you can layer it to achieve the tint you'd like. It looks very natural!

The bronzer washes off in the shower. You still have a light tan. Do not buy the spray. The sprayer clogs. The mousse is great. Just wear plastic gloves to avoid stained palms.

I haven't tried the mousse, but I would take the cream over the spray. The spray is a hassle to apply evenly.

This sprays on clear. You have to let it dry before you get dressed (5 min). It develops on your skin over the course of the day. I do not see any visable rinse-off/staining in my shower from this product. I did not find this product very effective for self-tanning. I've used creams, sprays, mousse, etc for self-tanning . . the spray is the best way to get even and hassle free coverage. Just try a different brand of spray.

I hate using self tanning prducts. They look great then they wash off in the shower. UGH. Not this product though! The color you spray is the color you get. Its a gorgeous color, it doesnt look fake at all! I highly recommend this. It smells like perfume.. literally, and dries extremly fast. It is very forgiving, it was my first time spray tanning and im sure I messed it up, but it looks more even than any lotion I have ever used. Buy this!

St. Tropez spray tan adds a little color to your skin so you can see where you've applied it, and also gives you a nice color lift while the actual color develops. The color will wash off when you shower, but the tan that is left behind (follow the directions) is a nice even bronze. It helps to spray it on your skin, and then spray some in your hands and then rub it in so you get consistent, even coverage.

Question
Color When Sprayed
I bought this at the store after trying other St. Tropez products, but when I sprayed it on my leg, it came out blue/green. Is this normal? I immediately wiped it off because I was afraid it would stay like that, so I don't know if it would actually tan my leg.

I have never had an experience with this product leaving a blue-green color stain on my skin. Perhaps the aforementioned patron didn't shake the can prior to use or sprayed it too close to her skin.

This product is both instant and gradual. It is the only self tanner that I have found that provides a streak free application because the spreay is micro fine. You can see where you are spraying it because it is pigmented however, after about 2 hours, it becomes even darker. I spray myself, and I've never looked streaky or blotchy. I am very pale, and this spray delivers very natural results.
