Questions & Answers for NARS Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatment

Question
SPF Lip treatment that is less expensive than Nars?
I am searching for a tinted yet moisturizing lip balm/treatment with an SPF of at least 15. Is there one that is not as expensive as Nars? Thanks!

Well it's only slightly cheaper, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. It's $22.50 and SPF 15. I have rose and am considering buying plum. It is the most hydrating lip balm I've ever ever used. I also bought Nars lip treatment in Angelique, and hardly ever use it. The Fresh Sugar Rose is a pretty, subtle shade and the texture seems to work fine for layering with anything else (sometimes I like to punch it up with a darker color on top). http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P240613&categoryId=B70

Try Tarte...they make one called 24/7 (I think) and Champagne Brunch is a nice nude shade, although there are several others. It's a bit less than the NARS version.

Some products are Online Only! But, Sephora usually has free shipping, so you're not paying more money than you would in store! Great product though!

okay so dior has a lip treatment that everyone loves...so since nars is copying dior which one is better?
i dont have the dior one but my mom does and she loves it, but wont let me try it so its only word of mouth. so if anyone tries this can you let me know what you think if this is better then the dior one?
btw what color would be good for dark brown hair and eyes with light skin, and i can wear warm and cool colors.

The Dior balm is pale clear pink, but turns a different color on your lips...it's different for everyone. The NARS colors did not work for me...no hint of color on any of the shades. If you want real color, go for the Dior. They are both expensive and add some moisture but don't last long. Try Tarte if you want something with a little more color that stays on longer.

I've been debating between the same two products and am still undecided as to which is better. The Dior is very pink. A girlie, candy pink which is pretty if a little unnatural on most skin tones. The packaging is also a big, unnecessarily bulky plastic thing. The NARS is a much sleeker product and a more natural looking color but not as moisturizing or long-lasting.

If you're referring to the Dior Lip Glow (the one that changes color), I have it and love it. I do find, however, that the "treatment/balm" aspect of it is not as impressive as the color. The Dior gets used up very quickly and IS a bit drying on my lips. When the color wears off, I'm left with a hot pink stain on my lips....usually only on the outsides, so you have to be careful. I haven't had the Nars for very long, but so far I've noticed a real difference for the better in my lips, so for the price, I'd go with the Nars.

Hi,

I have both and I prefer NARS. Lara, my NARS shade, feels like it's working more from within. I also slept with it last night, and when I woke up, my lips were so soft. It's hot where we live, and the A/C is running, which is usually drying to my lips a little, but not with this. I like this a lot better. Sometimes Dior is overstated and they spend a huge amount in advertising. I've had Sephora products which are way better than a few Dior ones.

Hope this helps.

I have both dior and nars and even though dior is much more pigmented i like nars better. Dior wears off much faster and my lips are dry after, nars has a very subtle tint but lasts longer and my lips are still soft when its gone. If you're looking for more of a treatment go with Nars.

Question
Which shade is best for medium/olive skin tones?
I am tempted to try Lara, but I'm worried the color won't work for my skin tone. Has anyone with medium or olive skin tried it?

All the colors are SO sheer that they're barely existent. I wouldn't sweat the color so much. No matter what color you choose, it's not gonna really show up much. I use Angelica, which is the darkest, and it's barely dark enough to be lip color.

I would totally go for Angelique. It's the darkest, and it will show up nicely. It's still nice and pink.

Lara is actually very light - a very sheer light pink. Almost too light for me and I am light/med. skin tone. All of these lip treatments are very sheer if you ask me - not much color. They are good for the spf and the hydration but not so much for the color.

I have fair skin and medium-pink lip tone, but I did purchase Lara so I can comment on its pigment. It is extremely, extremely sheer. It looks like I have nothing on aside from some form of lip balm.

This product is a very sheer color, so I think it would look good on all skin tones! My mom has really olive skin, so she tried mine, and it looked really pretty! Plus, you can put it over your lip stick to give your lips that extra shimmer! Hope that helps!?

I too have medium to olive skin with a yellow undertone and I love the color Angelique. It's natural looking and hydrating, but still has a great tint to it. Try it out. The color completely surprised me in a good way.

Looks like it might have been discontinued. I can only find this specific product in Bianca, and Aurore. It might come back though, you never know! You could email Sephora Customer Service, and ask if they are going to bring it back in that color? Just a thought!

It is unlikely we will be getting the shade in Angelique since it's no longer available to order online. We recommend contacting your local Sephora to see if they still have that shade available. We hope that helps!
