Josie Maran Natural Volume Lip Gloss

What it is:A high-shine lip gloss infused with Argan Oil for healthy, full lips. What it does:Natural Volume Lip Gloss creates a beautiful glossy sheen while naturally creating a voluptuous pout. The lip gloss has a dulce de leche flavor, a sweet treat for the mouth and lips. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic Fragrance- Phthalates- GMOs- TriclosanWhat else you need to know:Argan Oil is produced from the argan tree in the semideserts of Morocco. This oil is rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which have antiaging properties. This organic ingredient is known to help and prevent dehydration, inflammation, hyperpigmentation, and sebum production. It is your answer to naturally healthy, youthful, radiant, clear skin and hair.Sephora is the exclusive beauty retailer for this product.

I do not personally find that this product stings. However, you may want to see if you have any pre-existing conditions such as allergies or sensitivities.

Not at all. Maybe a little bit of a nice tingle (like a minty lip balm), but nothing you will really notice. This is one of my favorites, enjoy!

NO, not at all! This is the "normal volume" version and is just gloss, not plumping or stinging.

No stinging/tingling sensation at all, but wouldn't say that it plumps my lips either

answer 7
No! There's no stinging/burning or "icy" feeling like Buxom (which I cannot stand at all- the icy feel/burn and smell are so awful I refuse to wear them). This gloss makes my lips look fuller, not sure how but it does and it lasts until you wash it off!

answer 8
No it does not. It does seem to have a very slight tingle to it, but compared to Buxom it is hardly noticeable.

I think most of the plumping comes from the fact that it moisturizes the dry crinkly look out of lips and it has just enough pigment to give your lips a consistent color, but not so much that it is like paint on your lips.

Question
Long Wearing?
I don't like tacky/sticky glosses, but I do like a little bit of staying power. Do these last pretty well or will I be reapplying every hour or so due to the argan oil?

Good luck finding a gloss that passes the hour mark:) I love buxom, and it is long lasting for a gloss, but I only get an hour out of it. I get about 1/2 hour out of this one. It is not at all long lasting. I get about 45 mins out of UD lip junkie. I think it is helpful to provide comparisons, then you can compare your wear time to mine. I have yet to find a gloss that passes the hour mark and still looks good. I do not think it exists. Typically the stickier, the longer it lasts. Not always true though. This one is very smooth. Actually one of the least sticky glosses I have ever used. I suggest buxom or of all revl0n color stay gloss if you need wear. The color selection of the color stay stinks, it is drying, and it does not last past an hour or two and still look good. It wears on the indide of the lips and then you are stuck with an outline of color that fades in giving you the nineties outside lip line with no filler color look:( It is the longest lasting I have used though:)

The color actually lasts much more than an hour. If you get a color like Voluptuous which is one of the darker shades, the color gets lighter but it still looks like you just put it on.

I think the brush has improved completely. It is now a sponge tipped applicator instead of the old brush and now it really glides on smooth and you don't have hairs sticking out all over the place.

Dupes for Precious?
Josie Maran Argan Natural Volume Lip Gloss in Precious is the perfect pink! But the product itself tastes so bad I can hardly stand it. Unlike a lot of lip glosses I've used it's almost impossible to wear without tasting it. Please tell me there is an awesome Dupe out there somewhere!?

I do not know about glosses, but tarte makes a lip surgence called charmed that is the exact same shade on the lips. It is the original tarte lip surgence in charmed. It is bubble gum/barbie pink. The lip surgence can be applied sheer to more saturated depending on how many times you go over the lips. It has a minty scent to it, but not over powering minty. It is not tingly either like buxom. Just a hint of mint. It is nice because if you do lick, it tastes good and freshens breath.

Question
Did the ingredients change?
I feel like the ingredients for this product might have changed. I always avoided ordering this product because it contained ingredients which I suspected were animal-based such as chondroitin (I'm a vegetarian). Now though it seems like the animal-based ingredients are gone--- was it possibly reformulated? If so, I'll be very happy!

Yes, the ingredients were reformulated on this. There are no animal products in it at all now. It's my fav lip gloss of all time. Lasts long, not sticky at all! I use the shade Daring all the time as my go to shade...but I love Voluptuous & Brilliance also a lot. I wear an SFP tinted lip balm under these and skip the lipstick totally 99% of the time now days. Highly recommend.

I bought it because it was advertised as a natural product. If you look at the ingredients they do look pretty healthy. My guess is the animal products have been removed.

The glosses still have animal ingredients, I have been watching to see if they changed too. If you go to the Josie Maran website under what's new there is now an indicator to tell which products are vegan. Hope that helps!

Question
Can anyone provide a swatch of Soledad?
I have very fair skin with neutral undertones, with light brown hair and hazel eyes. I like Soledad best out of the colors, but I'm afraid it will be too orange for my skin tone. Can anyone (preferably with a skin tone similar to mine) be able to provide a swatch?

I have your exact same coloring and Soledad is great....I was also concerned it would be too orange but it is not, it mixes with your own lip coloring so doesn't come across as orange on the lips as it looks in the bottle. I also have Precious in both sizes and it is beautiful. My absolute favorite is Voluptuous which is definitely more noticeable and has a berry shade on my lips which I think is the perfect amount of color when I want a shade that shows up more but it is not too dark for my pale skin. I hope this helps you. I wish Sephora would put questions and answer dates as I have no idea how long ago you were looking for this information. Good luck!

Prescious. If you really are fair, you will love it. I am talking fair, like the fairest shade a company makes always, and 9/10 it is not fair enough. If yes, then you will love it.

I am very fair. If you want a natural look, I wear precious. My lips and the color stand out. I love my lips when I wear it. Apply a generous amount. Doesnt feel thick. I really ahve to take a picture of my lips with the lipgloss. You will be sold.

I have more medium skin tone and I have Soledad-I like it but I think it is too orangey for me, so I think it would be so for you as well. If I wear it with a nude lip liner it tones down the orange color.

I'm not sure of the weight, but I am pleased with the amount that comes out on the wand. I haven't used up a tube yet so I don't know how long it lasts, but I can tell you that I sit at my desk and drink water constantly throughout the day and I only reapply this after lunch. It's shocking. Everything else that I have ever used had to be reapplied several times during the day.
