It does not have a temperature setting but seems to be an ideal temperature. If I had to guess I would say 350 maybe?

I am in South America right now and you can use outlet adaptors with the unit. The voltage regulator does work fine, but you'll need to purchase at Target a 19.00 kit for plug options.

It heats up quickly (30 seconds), but does not get as hot as my Chi which heats up to between 410-420 degrees...? The GHD is noticeably less, but seems to do the job equally as well at a lesser temp which in the long run would be less damaging to the hair. It's supposed to be able to gage what your hair needs and deliver the heat appropriately which is a great feature IMO.

Well the truth is that this does not have a heat setting, but in my opinion I kind of like it. When I got the flat iron it can with a little instruction book ad it explains how it has this thing in it that makes the iron hotter or cooler depending on your hair type. To be specific it said in the book that the iron's temperature can go from 315 degrees to I believe 415 degrees (not that sure). Anyways in my opinion I think it's still as good as if it had a heat setting.

I'm not sure what the temp is exactly, but it's only one on/off switch, no multiple settings, heats up in ~15 seconds and beeps when it's reached max temp.

I bought my GHD overseas and never travel without it. It's compact and easy to slip into any compartment of your lugguge. I think you can definitely skip your hairdryer if using your GHD - they work great, keep frizz away, and even if your hair is very curly you can get it perfectly straight and smooth without much effort.
