Use the Capture Totale One Essential Serum before applying your toner. Allow the toner to dry or till your skin is slightly damp and then apply this on top.

No, no serum should be used before a toner. If you tone your face after you use the serum your pretty much wiping off any product you've applied to your clean skin! Wash your face, Tone your skin, then apply the serum, and follow with a moisturizer etc.

Can this product be used directly under the eye?

answer 1
No, do not put this product under your eye. Eye essential is designed for the eye area. The only things you should put under the eye are things that actually say safe for eyes. It is not going to harm your eyes if you use it there, but it is better to get the eye essential, it is safer and works better.

I have used it directly under my eyes and even on my lids with no sensitivity; however, I use a heavy-duty eye cream at night and that might be "cushioning" my skin from any potential negative effects.

I do not apply this product under my eyes because the product was made for facial skin...under eye skin is thinner. And, I accidently got some under my eye & it burned a little. The product is incredible! May I suggest eye cream from shisheido. I use that & it is gentle on the eyes & helps w/ firming, brightness, tone, & moisturizing. :)

Yes, it can. I have used it several times below the eye and although there is a slight discomfort after application, it hasn't done any damage. I would advise you not to rub your eyes when you use it though.

Question
Where & how do you apply?
I got this as a gift (my mom claimed I am no longer young and need to stop using drug store products!) - she actually bought it duty-free on an international flight and threw away the box and the insert. I know one pump should be enough for the whole face - but how?? Are there only certain areas you focus on, or are you supposed to cover the entire face and neck with one pump? Is there a secret to doing that?
And is once a day ok? It's so expensive I'm trying to figure out how to ration it..

Maybe I use too much, but I think 1.5 pumps is a better amount. With one pump, my hands and face would still feel dry while rubbing the product in. With 1.5 pumps (one full pump + one tiny pump), I have enough product to cover my face and neck.

Using morning and evening after cleansing and before moisturizing will give you the best results (in my experience). Since the product is so expensive, I only use it on the areas I need it (crow's feet, smile lines, brow creases). A little goes a long way. Test it out and see what works best for you, but always start small and build from there if you aren't seeing results in a few days. Hope this helps!

What you do, is use one pump, then dab your finger on it and place is on every area of your face (one on each, for instance: cheeks, forehead, chin, etc.)

Then what you do is rub it in quickly, in the order that you placed it (if you start in the last area, the first may dry by the time you get to it). This is what I typically do, and it's worked so far!

Also, another way that works is using it with a makeup brush (my friend uses this trick, she uses a M.A.C 182 Kabuki brush). It works well, also.

And it's fine to use it once a day. If you choose to do it this way, put the serum on right before you go to bed, so it can really soak in to your skin, were as if you used it in the morning, you would typically put foundation on shortly after. Just a tip!

I hope that I helped!

I'm 36 and was using this to correct dark spots, not wrinkles/loss of firmness. I used one pump once a day on the face only (not the neck) and have been very happy with the results. You should probably tailor the application to what you're trying to achieve (use twice a day all over if you're bothered with significant signs of aging) and what your budget can allow.

Honestly, I use 2-3 pumps all over my face, once a day (in the morning) & have had great results. I know it's expensive, which is why I go with just once a day, but I figure I'm gonna do it up for that once a day!

We suggest -Apply morning and evening after cleansing, before your normal serum or moisturizer for double the benefits.
-Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
-Avoid contact with the eyes.
-This product contains an alpha hydroxyl acid that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn.
-Use a sunscreen, wear suitable protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

My skin is very sensitive as well, and every now and then I actually break out in hives but I had no problem with this product. It has a very light floral scent, it actually reminds me of my childhood (my grandma had something that smelled like this) and it isn't too overwhelming of a smell. The smell actually fades pretty quickly

Question
Can I use this product instead of a facial toner?
The background: During my last visit to Sephora, a rep while buying other Dior goodies suggested I use Dior's toner (I don't currently use one). Since I don't live relatively near a store, I decided to go for it. She brought back the One Essential plus some cotton pads. I was under the impression that this item was a pricey toner, but when I got home and did some research I realized that it's a serum.
So to the question: Can I use the One Essential as a toner? Is the Sephora rep correct, or accidentally picked up the wrong package?

The rep should have shown you Dior gentle toning lotion with velvet peony. It is the best toning lotion ever. I cant use most toners because they inflame and make my face red. I did some research b4 picking this toner and I love it, my search is over. It's gentle formula leaves your face feeling sooooo wonderfully hydrated fresh clean and soft like nothing else. Then. I use Capture one total essential, capture multi concentrate serum, Then capture total emulsion for my moisturizer and I am seeing excellent results. I hope this helps!

You COULD use this as a toner, but honestly... you would be wasting a lot of money. This is a great product and should be left on the skin to be absorbed. I wouldn't want to waste it on any cotton pads. however, this serum is very light and absorbs very quickly so you could easily if wanted, use this as a toner. =) BUT try it as a serum first. you probably will fall in love after a week. =)
Good Luck!!!

The results are still the same without a toner. The serum is strong enough to melt the dead skin away from your face while brightening and hydrating it.

Just make sure you open your pores up a bit before putting this in.

Do you have to use a moisturizer with it?
I have combination skin, and was wondering if this would work well alone as a moisturizer, or if combining it with another moisturizer really is a must? According to the Dior rep I needed this plus three other moisturizers, but my face was a shiny mess all day long after she used all four products on me!

I have not had to use a moisturizer with it, however it really doesn't seem to moisturize. It mostly enhances what ever other products you use on top of it. It immediately got rid of a dry patch i had for months. I use a tinted moisturizer in the day but none at night. I also use Algenist Firming and Lifting Cream day and night on top of it.

It's not very moisturizing and serums, by definition, are not to replace your regular moisturizer. They are more easily absorbed so you use them before your moisturizer. This is just to detox your cells.

This is good for all skin types. My previous post was just oozing with my excitement so let me clarify some things. It will enhance the creams, cleansers, and masks you are using.

For example: capture totale is for firming, lighting, even skin texture, youthfulness, damage reverse, dullness in the face. This serum gets you better results faster.

For Acne worried users... this is completely gentle and effective. It boosts the properties in salicylic acids, benzol peroxides, and mostly retinols, tp smooth out your acne, calm redness, heal and lighten scars.

for people with flaky dry skin....this melt away mask is an absolute must! it will regulate sebum mattify pores impart a rosy glow and help your skin get healthy by drinking in all the vitamins and botanicals.

One Essential is your "super" serum. It immediately boosts the effectiveness of any facial regimen you are doing by up 400x!! (retinols, hylauronic acids)

Imagine One Essential is like superman and Louis lane are the Capture Totale products (creams, eyes, serums) they work extremely well together because they were always designed to share the maximum benefits of these skincare. The unique detoxing effects it is keeps it at a point of difference than other brands. Without eliminating toxins, no skincare treatment can truly do the work it was meant to. You have to get the stem cells healthy again and thats exactly how this product works.

No, it is not. I used this when I was 20 as well, and still continue to do so at 22. It is never too early to start using a good anti-aging regimen on a routine basis. It keeps skin youthful, gives a nice glow and detoxifies it. Just make sure you wear sunscreen or sunblock after applying this because it is a peeling agent.

I don't think it is ever too soon to start using an anti-aging regimen. Thanks to years of tanning (in and outdoors) I began noticing fine lines earlier than some and this product has certainly helped. However, at your age I would imagine that using a nice moisturizer with anti-aging benefits would be more than enough (I like Philosophy and Fresh). However, you could use an anti-aging serum under your regular moisturizer if you feel as though you need it. Looking back, the time-honored beauty tips are the best: ALWAYS wear sunscreen, stay away from tanning beds (they have all-natural spray tans now that don't turn you orange!), cleanse and moisturize your face both morning AND night, and drink plenty of water!

Although Prevage seems to be more expensive, looking at its ingredients, it lacks the harmful ingredients (alcohol, fragrance) found in this Dior product.

However, it is worth noting that the efficacy levels for idebenone (toted ingredient for Prevage) have not been established. Nothing published or peer-reviewed. So I wouldn't bother spending the extra money on any of their "physician strength" versions. Idebenone isn't even a drug nor is it regulated by any kind of prescription.

Supposedly it encourages fluid drainage to do so. Something about massage therapy. I stopped doing it within a few days of use, and it still works wonders. I don't think it's necessary. But if you still want to know: the insert says to press before and behind the ears, along the collarbones, and then from your temples to your nose, then from the sides of the nose to the cheekbones, and finally from the jaw corners down to the chin. Hope this helps. Good luck!
