Question
Anyone having trouble with areas wearing away in color such as behind your knees or in front of your elbows?
The problem I'm having is that the color quickly wears away behind my knees, in front of my elbows, & between thighs. It is those areas where my skin touches itself often (fetal position sleeping, sitting with knees bent, bending arms, etc) & I guess that's why they almost turn white. I'm not sure if it's a friction issue or that these areas get warmer, maybe sometimes sweat a tiny bit? I've tried using the towel just in those areas a few times in a row. The areas darken a bit but not enough to blend in with the rest of me. The maker of Tan Towel makes a spray "instant" tan. You spray it onto a used towel & rub it on. Not only did that not darken the areas but it made them bigger! It was as if the spray was removing the previous tan. I've been searching the web trying to find others with similar experiences to hopefully get help with this issue to no avail. It seems like I'm the only one with these freakish results. I may have to try another brand, which stinks because these are so easy to use.

I have trouble with my knee's fading faster then the rest. I bought some spray tan by tantowel that I use periodically. sometimes to just freshen up my tan.

Thanks for your answers. I've tried the instant tan spray from Tan Towel & it made the worn areas lighter & bigger. It basically was removing the tan I had & I can't understand why. I then tried using BE's Faux tan just in the worn areas but the same thing happened. I've also kept used towels & applied them to the worn areas every day. The worn areas got a bit tanner but so did the tan areas. I guess I'll have to try harder to wipe within the borders of the worn areas. It's just so hard because if you wipe out of the borders of the worn areas those areas get darker. So I then had lightly tanned worn areas & dark tan rings around those areas. It's just starting to seem like too much work. I'm starting to think there's nothing you can do if you get worn areas. I guess I'll try one more time & maybe put baby powder or something on those areas to hopefully prevent the worn areas from returning. Ugh!

I have found after you use the towelette, you can still get some "use" out of it. Meaning, put the used, moistened towelette in a zip lock bag and re-use it on the spots that extra coverage on a daily basis. And if you do have the spray on instant tan product, you can actually spray the towelette with the spray and re-wet the towelette with it. I hope this helps! It's worth a shot.

With this product as well as many of the other self-tanners I apply lotion and after product application I blow dry my self-tanner to make sure I can sit, cross my legs...etc. Try that and let me know if that helps. Do you exfoliate? That helps alot as well. :)
