This pencil, though wonderful, does have to be sharpened. It is worth it though. I have shopped and shopped for the perfect nude and this is it!

This pencil does require sharpening; it does not roll up. But remember that these traditional lip pencils have a softer, waxy texture, so they usually glide on better. You also have the ability to sharpen it to your desired point (more pointed for a precise line). Generally, these lip pencils also last longer and are less prone to breakage.

This does not self-sharpen. Don't be so lazy as some of the best liners are "old fashioned" - you have to sharpen them yourself.

How does this compare to Borderline Lip Liner?

I'm familiar with Borderline, and I'm wondering what the difference is between it and Perfect lips. Does Perfect Lips extend the wear of lipstick? Does it prevent feathering as well as Borderline?

I have never used Borderline. This pencil does not feather. It is a good color if you have fair skin. It lasts about as long as any other lip pencil.

Borderline is colorless and Perfect Lips is a mid-shade neutral that is compatible with most skin tones. I've used it and I haven't had any feathering, and it can extend the life of lipsticks if you use it all over your lips as a base before you apply the lipstick on.

I have medium skintone and my natural liptone is extremely pinky/purple. I'd love to try a nude lip using this pencil with Viva Glam II, but I'm afraid it will turn out looking "ashy" on me. Any input?

I am fair to medium and my friend is medium to dark and we both use it and it looks perfect for each of us. It's the color of what natural lips are supposed to be. To me it works for everyone.

This pencil color literally works on any skintone. Your coloring sounds much like mine & the pencil is my go to product now. I use it just like a base for anything I'm going to apply to my lips & it's spectacular! No feathering, no smudging, nothing but great color with extended wearability!

I cannot seem to find this lip liner online or in store, after the revamp of this line in the summer time and the launch of the four new perfect lip liners.

I just wanted to know if this product will still be available through Sephora.
