Question
Does it sting?
I've tried the Buxom gloss before and it stings painfully. Does this one sting as well?

It is very possible that you may have an allergic reaction to something in buxom. Buxom should not sting. It should have a slight tingle. My guess is, likely the menthol. My mom has the same thing. Cannot use wen because of the menthol in it, cannot use buxom for the same reason. I would try this, worst case return it. If it does not work out, note the ingredients. Check to see if it has menthol. If it does, you know to avoid it...especially on your hair/head cause your hair will fall out:0

This gloss does not sting! I have had many of the "plumping" lip glosses and they sting pretty intensely, especially Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme, but the Glamour Gloss is completely different. I recommend this product if you want a little plumper but not too extreme.

No stinging - just a cooling feeling and it feels like your lips are plumping a little. Not a dramatic change but I love the non-sticky feeling and the color lasts for quite a while for a gloss.

Question
Does the applicator work well?
I'm generally leery of bristle brush applicators in glosses, because they tend to fray and leave an uneven application. Has anyone had problems with the Glamour Gloss applicator? Does it spread the gloss evenly?

answer 2
I'm not a huge fan of the brush-tip - my sample sized version had an angled sponge tip, which is easier to feel on your lips and makes application faster.. but you get used to the brush-tip after a while.

Most of the colours are pretty sheer, so a quick smoosh of the lips together rubs out any errors. I put mine on sans mirror and have had no issues.

I'll have to wait til I get near the end of the product to know for sure(as that is when they usually fall apart on me), but so far so good. Its not spectacular...its a brush and its fairly thin, so it can get where you want it w/o going overboard. The top of the well that the brush goes into jar at is not so tight that it frays it like some other product applicators do.

Hi,

For a gloss this lasts a relatively long time, but the key word is relative. If you want something to last a really long time, you might want to try this over a stain. Stains seem to last the longest, generally with a gloss. You could also try some of the really long lasting lipsticks. If you go into a Sephora, the consultants can always help you find something that will fulfil your needs. If there isn't one near to you, the consultants can help you by phone.

Hope this helps.

Hope this helps.

get real. glosses really can't be long lasting, that's what separates a gloss from a lipstick. texture. period. glosses will next last like a lipstick. most glosses that are tackier or stickier then to be smacked off sooner than ones that are smoother and a bit thinner which makes some tend to say they are "long lasting," which really they just "last a bit longer" than others. a gloss is a gloss. its smooth, shiny and meant to give sheer color for the most part, its not a lipstick. some glosses give more fuller color than others though but they do not impart the coverage or wear of a lipstick. they never will. if you want to enhance the wear somewhat, use a reverse lipliner and use korres lip scrub nightly and use a lip primer first, it will HELP it stay a bit longer.

Question
PINK OR PEACH?
I purchased this lip gloss in Barely Legal and just LOVE the color. I went back a couple of weeks later and I found the same color--but I swear It looked different somehow. I figured it was the lighting or something, but when I got home it WAS a different shade. The one I love is a very light pink and the one I received was a washed out peach shade. I also noticed the applicator was different--the one I liked had a sponge tip and the newer one has a brush one. I don't mind the applicator at all, but has anyone else had this happen? Both times I purchased this gloss I got the last one. The tester was not at all what I purchased to begin with. I just knew something was off. I even asked the friendly staff, but honestly they didn't get what I was trying to say. I really want to buy the one I fell in love with!!! Any input is most appreciated. Thank-you so much.

This has not happened to me both times that i have purchased this item. Thanks to you, i will now make sure i get the right one. If you are not happy with the gloss that has a brush, you should return it. Sephora returns items even if you have opened it and used it. You just have to return it within the time specified on the receipt. This gloss is pricey so you should be able to get the one you love and not be forced to stay with the other one. I always get the one with the spongy applicator and i get it in pillow talk.

Compaired to what I have read in other reviews, I ordered Pillow Talk online and it came with the spongy foot brush applicator and this was maybe a month ago or less. Everyone else says that they recieved product with the bristle brush like you did. I think it just depends on where you get it from. Perhaps try ordering it online. They may just have the glosses with the sponge thing in the wairhouses that they compile shipments from.

I hope this helps a little :-/

I've got the gloss in Barely Legal as well and love it. It takes a few minutes to set in nicely and it becomes ethereal looking. From what you said, I must have the one you're favoring. Mine is a nice pink color, just as they describe it as something like marshmallow pink I believe.
So the other gloss you bought was peachy? And you're sure its Barely Legal and not another shade misplaced in the slot where Barely Legal was supposed to be? If not and you've gotten a noticable discrepancy between shades you should find a way to contact Too Faced directly. If it is marked Barely Legel maybe it needs to be shaked and mixed up better or maybe even the gloss got stickered incorrectly. The different applicator is strange too, and its definitely not a different type of gloss within the brand? I'm not an expert on the brand, maybe they changed applicators and altered the formula a bit? Strange, makes me curious. Maybe return the peachy shade and try purchasing Barely Legal online where it comes from a warehouse...? Good luck!!

I used to use Buxom a lot, but since I found Glamour Glosses, I definitely prefer them over Buxom! The texture is pretty much the same as Buxom; perhaps a tad less sticky. I find that the feel on the lips is gentler than Buxom. That is, it's not as tingly and doesn't make your lips as cold, which I appreciate. As far as how well it works, even though I have fat lips to begin with, my lips seem to be fatter after wearing this for a few hours than when I used Buxom. But perhaps the biggest thing I like about the Glamour Glosses is that they smell like cinnamon sugar. YUM!!! I would recommend these over Buxom any day. I hope you like them as much as I do!

The plumping is basically menthol. It's not very strong at all, it honestly doesn't really "tingle," either/ If she has dry lips though, I wouldn't suggest it, it might make her lips a little dryer. I would suggest the Boxum Lip Pluming Polish, it feels like a menthol chapstick, and feels better then a lip balm :)
