Featherweight Luxe

Featherweight Luxe

What it is:An innovative product that dries hair in half the time of conventional dryers and provides the ultimate in frizz-fighting, hair-protecting, and styling performance. What it does:New-school versus old-school? A large, soft, perfectly balanced cone of air versus a hurricane-like tornado of damaging air? Thanks to SoftAire(TM), the Featherweight Luxe dries large sections of hair at a time, reducing drying times by up to 70%. As a result, hair is not over-dried and is left with a professionally perfect finish that is smooth, shiny, and silky. Patented T3(R) technology infuses only the highest-quality Tourmaline gemstones that emit ionic, infrared heat to seal in moisture and reduce static electricity for frizz-free, healthy styling. This set contains:- T3(R) Featherweight Luxe Dryer with 2 speed and 3 heat settings and cool shot- Tourmaline Ceramic components- Tourmaline concentrator nozzle- SoftTouch, finger diffuser- 9-ft professional length cord- Replacement SoftAire(TM) filters- 2-year warrantyWhat else you need to know:The included SoftTouch Diffuser volumizes, defines curls, and eliminates frizz for permed, curly, or fine hair. The Tourmaline SoftAire(TM) dries large sections of hair gently and very quickly for a professionally perfect finish. The turbulent air is organized by a specially designed fan into an organized stream. The air becomes perfectly saturated with T3 Tourmaline generated ionic and infrared heat. The enriched air exits the dryer in a large, uniform, soft stream.Research results:Four out of five people experienced faster drying times and reduced frizz when they used their T3(R) dryer.

I was told by a T3 employee (March of 2010) that the LUXE featherweight is an upgrade to all of their previous hair dryers.

Question
T3 Hair Dryers
Why do you leave off the wattage on some of the T3 dryers? I will not buy one unless I know what the strength of the hair flow is and you omit it from several of them. Until I know the wattage I will not consider paying a huge price for a dryer, whether it's a T3 or some other brand.

They all have the same wattage when you buy them it is printed on the dryer and they are all the same. Wattage also doesn't mean how powerful a dryer is, it shows how much electricity it uses and they are not the same thing. I've had dryers with more wattage that were less powerful don't worry the T3 is the best.

Dude, there's several ways of getting that information.

1) email customer service at the T3 micro website
2) Go to a local Sephora store and look at the back of the box
3) Google it.

T3 no longer focuses on wattage, they focus more on the performance that it provides. This dryer is 70 percent faster than other dryers.

The Luxe allows you to adjust the temp. to high, med. or low along with the air speed of slow or fast. Although, using the Luxe on Med. heat and fast air speed, almost doubled the time it took to dry my hair with the original on the fast air speed. The original has 2 air speeds but the temp is the same. Also, the Luxe is supposed to reduce drying time by 70% and the original by 60% but I did not find the Luxe to me faster and on Med. heat it was actually slower then the original.

There really isn't a big difference besides a few extra heat settings. Unless you want to be able to uniquely tailor your speed and heat setting just get the cheaper one. I've had both they work the same but the luxe comes with a diffuser if you care.

Question
Which is better, the T3 Featherweight or the T3 Featherweight Luxe???
I'm considering upgrading from the $20 Revlon that I own.. I can't really decide which one of these to get. The T3 looks like the fav but the Luxe version has a wider range of settings, for only $50 more. I figured if it's gonna be an investment, might as well get the best quality.

I never had the regular (white) Featherweight, I started out on the Luxe and I'll tell you I LOVE the extra settings and love having the diffuser for days I want my waves to show through.

That's about it - it's up to you really. But I'm IN LOVE with this. 20 minutes from dripping wet to styled and it normally takes me around 1 hour or even 1hr30min depending because I have VERY thick, coarse and big wavy hair. I have absolutely no frizz anymore and actually enjoy doing my hair now ^_^

My first T3 was the featherweight (white) and I absolutely loved it, but it finally gave out on me after 3.5 years of using it. I purchased my second T3 and decided to go with the Featherweight Luxe (black). There is no real difference besides the color. I wanted the black dryer, so that is why I got the Luxe.

Question
Is it resistant??? Long lasting dryer?
I had a T3 Pro dryer ( It's pink and white). I bought it October 2010 and since then I had gone through 4 of these dryers. Yes 4, it always ends up making a weird noise, like something metallic inside got unscrewed and is just dangling in the dryer. I love the dryer and it does wonders to my hair. that is why I'm willing to go and obtain another one. I want to purchase this new t3 model, but I want to make sure that it will last. I want a product that I don't have to replace every 4 to 6 months. Is it resistant?

Had the same problem with the featherweight. Sephora consultant said I shouldn't have the same problem with the luxe. It is a professional model.
It is expensive at $250.00.

Wattage
Why isn't the wattage of the T3 hair dryers listed on these new dryers. I know the travel one is 1200 watts but I do not want to consider buying one of them until I know what the wattage is.

Great question - I, too, wondered that before purchasing the T3 Featherweight Luxe, but I bought it anyway about a month ago. After using it I can say it heats up FAST and leaves my coarse hairs smooth and dries it in literally 1/2 the time.
