I used to use High Voltage Eye Primer in Skin mainly (I also owned Smokey)...at first they worked very well, but then for some reason, no matter how much I would use, at the end of the day my eyeshadow was creased, so I swtiched to Urban Decay Eye Primer which works very well for me...
High Voltage, if I remember correctly, was a bit heavy on the eyelid, possibly a bit greasy; with Urban Decay, it's lightweight, dries quickly and doesn't feel greasy...

it is soooooo much better then urban decay and all the other primers out there!!! its hydrating, smooth and silky, lasts allll dayy! and is non greasy!!!!

Compared to any other brand I've tried, (Urban Decay, Too Faced, Smashbox, Benefit, Lorac) the KVD primer is thicker, more pigmented, stickier, harder to apply, heavier on the lid, and doesn't last as long as any of them. My favorite by far is the LORAC primer. It's about the consistency of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance but grabs the shadow better and lasts longer. I've worn it up to 14 hours on my oily lids with NO creasing.

I would say this is worse than Urban Decay's, and definitely worse than Bare Escentuals Primetime eyelid primer. ← That is DEFINITELY one to try!!!!!!!! GREAT STUFF!!!!

How it compares:
-Urban decay is a bit greasier, and you have to use more product. The pros about the urban decay formulas are that it comes in 3 finishes.. but again, you have to work with it a lot more to get great results.
-Too Faced is great, but for the price, you might as well get KVD's, because it's just a better product. TF's is really sheer, and can't double as a concealer, if you want to use it like that.
-Benefit's new primer/concealer has a kind of gunky feel to it, especially when it's getting older.. plus the smell kind of bothers me.
-Smashbox has the reputation of having a great lid primer, but I haven't had all that much luck with it. It smells funny after a while, gets gunky and greasy, and the applicator brush isn't product-friendly. You end up wasting a lot of product because you don't need as much as the applicator gives you.
-Bare Escentuals is pretty decent if you're looking for an all-natural solution, but don't use the applicator tip. It's useless and wastes product.

I've always used Lancome eye primer in a pot and High Voltage Eye Primer is just as good if not better.

Don't know about smashbox and urban decay but better than two faced

its a good amount of product... and a little goes ALONG WAY!!!!!!!!!!! there is 0.12 oz and just use the smallest dab

I think the stellar is perfect for all shadow applications. I have fair skin and it is perfect

Skin is a great base for any color, it simply brightens the area, or darkens depending on the shade of skin you buy, and helps the eyeshadow stick! It works great too, personally I'm very impressed with the product.

The skin KVD primer is perfect for all shades. Makes all shades so vibrant and makes them last all day!

I like the new opalescent one. It doesn't change the color of my shadow and adds that perfect highlight to my brow bone...and the inner corner of my eyes! And the best part about sephora--if you hate it, return or exchange it. Also, the skin tone one is my secondary reccommendation. No sheer highlight over the brow bone, but won't stand out under your shadow, either.

I like Stellar the best. Not too light or too dark.

i would pick this other then the urban decay 1. because better price, 2. amazing formula!, 3. not oily or drying, 4. great quality

I don't know about Lorac, but I thought it was even better than Urban Decay and that says plenty! It's an excellent value and I'm hooked.

I have used Urban Decay's primer for years, and loved it. This one beats eveything, though! Really! Especially if you like an intense, smoky look, buy the one in "smoky". The one called "skin" is better for lighter shadows. This is the best product I've bought in forever!

In comparison to Urban Decays Primer...overall, I think I prefer Urban Decay because it feels like it actually dries whereas the KVD stays kinda creamy/greasy. However...I love the fact that the Smoky primer is available for use under dark shadows...it works much better for the look of a smoky eye. Just have to remember that a little goes a loonnnng way!

Not nearly as stable as Urban Decay - my eyeliner was all over the place before I finished drying my hair. Returned & went back to Urban Decay.

i dont think there are fragrances in the product...... but there is a smell to the primer

i wouldn't - the color is similiar to a liquid foundation. it goes on dark and has no shimmer to it at all. i think it would look odd without an eyeshadow over it - but it will hold your eyeshadow in place for the day.

Nah. You don't want your eyes to be all one color and it would just make them look pale.

I think it depends on your skin tone. It is full coverage so I am sure you could do it by itself. It drys and isn't sticky.

No! Smashbox is a superior product. It is lightweight and blends beautifully and really makes shadow last. Skip this one!

To me its better!, love the way it goes on really smooth. And it makes your shadows really pop!! This and the Mac Cosmetic Primers are where its at!!

The Kat Von D brand does not test on animals.

Technically all products are tested on animals, the research from the places that do it is used by the ones who claim they don't because they didn't actually test any of the ingredients themselves they just used the research from the ones who did...

There is nothing I know of that says that the make-up is tested on animals or not. I do know, however, that Urban Decay is hardcore strict on animal rights. You can check them out.

I am pretty sure that as of this year, Stellar is out in Sephora as a normal item to purchase. Go to popular eye products and chose "Kat Von D Voltage Eye Primer". At the bottom of the screen are the choices of different primers she has come out with. It's in the stores as well.

i want to say that i have seen stellar in the full size tube in a couple of the stores. and if not its available online.
