I don't know anything about the Clinique guarantee, but Sephora has a wonderful return policy for all of their products. If you don't care for the product, simply return it to one of their stores and you can send it in the mail. If you ordered it online, just send it back with the bottom half of the invoice slip and use the postage paid sticker that was sent with your order. Sephora will reimburse you for the cost you paid.

With a receipt, you can return products to Sephora and get your money back provided you return it within 60 days. I'm not sure what the policy is if you don't have the receipt or after 60 days.

Question
Freckles vs. Acne Scars?
I would like to use this product to fade my post-acne scars, but I don't want it to lighten my dark freckles from sun exposure (I like them!). Will this product lighten both? Just acne scars?

I use this product on both acne scars and freckles. Both my acne scars and the freckles that appear in the summer (from the additional sun exposure). It has not had much effect on the freckles that I have year-round.

If you want to keep your sun-freckles, I would suggest spot-treating the acne scars rather than applying to your whole face.

The pamphlet doesn't seem to specify any single active ingredient, but calls it their patent-pending "CL-302 Complex". There's a long list of mostly chemical ingredients, but the "natural" ones I can point out are turmeric, grapefruit peel, rice, barley, wheat germ, bark, and cucumber extracts.

I think your solution is Even Better Skin Tone Corrector, not this Dark Spot Corrector. But because we all have different skin types, my skin might have reacted differently on this dark spot solution. It didn't really help with my redness, I tried Skin Tone corrector by Clinique, I am going to buy it. Get a Sample at Sephora store and try it at home. I did and I liked it! I got a sample of the dark spot corrector and I'm not satisfied at all.

At night I use clinique Even Better, clean and clear acne blemish, hydroquinone 4% which is by prescription only its a skin lightener, and clinique moisturizer.

I have been using the product as follows and have gotten great results:

1. After I wash my face (I usually use Philosophy face wash or Ole Henrickson red tea face wash), I put the spot corrector on first. I have been putting a thin layer all over my face, not just on dark spots.

2. I follow with an antioxidant mist, such as Eco Bella spray on toner.

3. I add a moisturizer. If day time, I use an SPF moisturizer. If night time, I use my usual night cream.

4. I apply an eye cream morning and night.

5. I use a clarifying masque (either Fresh Umbrian Clay or fresh Black Tea) every few days.

Works great! Just make sure you use an SPF moisturizer of make-up during the day. I'm a scientist who studies aging, and I personally tend to think that the more you change up your skin regimen, the better, so don't be afraid to vary brands that you use while you're using the spot corrector.
