If you want to see the maximum results with this product, you should

Daytime --- And exfoliate manually (with a scrub) 3-4x a week if you're oily - 2 if you're dry, less than 2x if you're very dry.
1) Cleanse
2) Exfoliate
3) Moisturize
4) Clinique Even Better Clinical
5) Booster Moisturizer with Sunscreen

At night time do steps 1-3, then you need to see how thick/thin the Even Better Clinical is vs your pm wrinkle serums/moisturizers. Keep in mind, it's best not to use anything with an spf at nighttime.

ALWAYS GO THINNEST TO THICKEST after regular moisturizer - yes, i'm telling you that you need two. A regular one, and a "booster" moisturizer. AM/PM if necessary. Sunscreen for day and wrinkle for nighttime.

Pretty much though, if you don't use a booster moisturizer over your serums, they aren't going to do much good. So always "seal" everything with your booster moisturizer - the thickest one will be the last thing you put on at nighttime.

THIS HAS CLINICAL INGREDIENTS, LIKE THE ONES A DERM WOULD PRESCRIBE, SO IT WORKS BETTER AND FASTER! TRUST ME, I'VE TRIED IT AND IT DOES WORK. IT'S ALSO FREE OF HYDROQUINONE, WHICH IS A MAJOR PLUS.

The serum is not hydroquinone which some studies show to be dangerous and a possible carcinogen. It's a patent-pending serum that breaks down the melanoma (where the dark spor is) which each application and fades it over a period of time.

try using it at night to begin with after you have applied all of the products you have been using. If your skin doesn't react to it then start applying twice daily

I am using this with a retinol product. Both are good for skin, not dangerous chemicals. I apply the Clinique serum first, let it dry, and then apply the retinol product.

Question
How Do I Use This?
I need to know if I need to apply this just to the dark spots or to the entire face. The leaflet that came in the box does not specify, it just says to use twice a day. Could someone confirm the proper use of this for me? Thank you.

I found this product to be very gentle and did not have a reaction while using a face wash with retinol--but everyone's skin is different. If you can go to a Sephora store and get a sample, I would try that before investing in this product. I applied it overnight in a thin layer all over my face, and found that to be very effective in reducing the appearance of post-acne discolorations.

I used this on my whole face because I had redness/dark spots scattered throughout, but you could just use it on the dark spots if they are concentrated - I used a prescription for a long time for the same issues and it was so expensive, dermatologist advised to only use it on spots and it had the same basic active ingredient.

It's a little pricey, like all Clinique products -- in this case, almost $50 for 1 fluid ounce. If the product works for you, then it's worth the price. If not, you can probably return it and get a refund since Clinique guarantees results on this product.

Question
Using with Philosophy Miracle Worker Retnoid pads
I have been using Philosophy Miracle Worker Anti-Aging Retinoid Pads at night and Caudalie Vinoperfect in the morning with my moisterizer for about 3-months. My skin is so much better. But I have red acne scars and some brown spots that won't diminish. Can I use this product also? Or will it react with the Reinoid? I want to use this in spots not all over my face.

Hi. I have post acne scars that just wont go away. I have used this with the philosophy Clear on Day which has retinol. Well, after using both products until they ran out (about 1-2month span) I saw a drastic improvement where I can just put a tinted moisturizer and some foundation power and I will look great. Before, I used to put pounds of make up on to cover these scars which still became transparent under lighting. I still can see my scars under lighting but it has improved to the point where I don't have to cake my make up. My acne is so bad I thought I would have to get cosmetic surgery but this did the trick. Whether it will keep improving I do not know but I'm on my second bottles for these. One downfall I found about this combo is that it doesn't deliver as much hydration you would probably like in the winter months and that it doesn't help with control the acne. I hope this helped.

I have a sun spot on my cheek. Based on reviews, I had hoped for a noticeable difference. It may have lightened the pigment a hair, but not worth the price. I still apply concealer to my dark spot. I've been using hte clinique for over a month now. I'm disappointed. :-(

Call Clinique at 1-800-419-4041 if you want to be sure. Personally, I would not use it during pregnancy. I would rather see a dermatologist for a non-chemical intervention like light therapy, just to be on the safe side. Even though it contains a very small amount of hydroquinone, this ingredient has apparently been associated with problems in pregnant animals during testing such as stillbirths, low birth weights and deformities. But you can contact Clinique to be certain!
