How do you curl your hair with a straightening iron?

My stylist says you have to go 'over hand' (opening of iron clamps downward) and start at the root, all the while twisting the iron through the hair. It takes some practice if you are used to regular curling irons. Maybe ask a stylist to show you for a visual.

What to buy?

My family has been big on T3 products, however my mom just got a chi with cool remote temperature settings (whatever you call it). It's nice and it does it's job. Now I want to replace my old T3 flat iron that I've had for three years. I think its going to go ka-put on me soon. I have baby fine hair that's natural curly. I need something that's going to straighten and curly (the current one I have doesn't curl right) Should I invest in buying this one or a chi or ghd? Help would be appreciated.

I also have thin curly hair. And I've tried both the T3, and the ghd. The T3 is honestly way better. I don't like leaving my hair super straight, so I use this to smooth out my frizzy curls and create nice big curls. The ghd doesn't curl as easily, and it requires several passes to eliminate the price. I really suggest you go with the T3...I have curly hair and it works great. I've used it on all 3 of my sisters who have different thicknesses of curly hair and it's so fast and leaves hair soft and beautiful.

Does this tool come with a booklet with any instructions?

I know how to curl with it but it says it is designed to "style flips, body, shape, waves, curls". How do you achieve all these different styles? Are there any videos out there?

Yes, when I received my T3 (back in September of 2011) it came with a booklet that had a brief guide on how to style your hair in different ways. Nowadays, you can find most anything on Youtube. I would suggest searching for 'curling hair with flat iron' and you'll find plenty of videos showing you different ways to curl/wave your hair with a flat iron. Then you can test out different methods on your hair to see what works best with your skill set and your hair type.

Can I get my hair straightener fixed under my warranty?

Today my hair straightener decided it would stop working. I was halfway through my hair and it stopped working. It will not heat up. The light will just blink and the hot plates just don't warm up. This product says it has two year warranty, I've had it only a little better than a year, how does the warranty work in this case?
