Questions & Answers for Korres Quercetin & Oak Age-reversing Primer

Question
Why is this creating a crumbly/cakey effect with my makeup?
I put on my moisturizer and i let that soak in for a few minutes before putting on this primer. then i let the primer settle for about 3-5 min and try to do concealer/foundation and nothing stays on my face/everything is blotchy! Everything (primer/concealer/foundation) mills together into tiny little clumps of product on my skin. Anything but even......help!

I've had this happen before, and it has nothing to do with the Primer. Too much lotion, and your skin isn't absorbing it, due to lack of exfolation. Dead skin cells on your skin keeps your skin from absorbing the lotion, so it "pills" together with everything else on top of your skin.

Thats weird. I would try changing the moisturizer to see if its the mositurizer or the primer. I have not had this problem. However, I don't wait that much time between putting on my primer and then my makeup.

Skip the moisturizer, or if you are in love with it, skip the primer. I have normal to oily skin and I don't wear a moisturizer when I wear this primer. I use the primer, then later a dab of concealer on my broken blood vessels (dermablend), then my korres wild rose mineral powder foundation, and looks great no weird reactions of any kind.

Be sure your skin is clean each day before you put your moisturizer and primer on. You also may be applying too much. Try to put on less and I only wait one minute before I start putting on all my makeup.

I have seen this effect and have basically figured out it must be a fundamental "chemical" reaction between ingredients, and it means you can't mix the two products unfortunately. So either you change your foundation or try a different primer. I have had good luck with Laura Mercier concealer and the Korres primer...they seem to complement each other well.

I've discovered the most wonderful trick.
I always apply mosturizer, primer, liquid foundation, concealer, and then powder. The best thing I've found to reduce caking and clumping is of course waiting a few minutes between applications to help it dry, but also before applying powder in the end, use your powder brush all over your face in circles like you're applying powder, but without putting any on the brush. So you're using the powder left on the brush from last time to absorb all the moisture, and then you have a flawless dry canvas :)
hope this works for you too.

If you have oily skin you may want to skip the moisturizer in the AM. Also, a little of Korres products go a long way so try thinner coats, esp with the primer. It's good you're giving ample dry time between each as well as that is quite important when layering products. If you still feel 'dewy' before you need to apply your next product try putting a little fan on your makeup mirror area to help speed things up.

You might be using too much of everything - I use all three of those things (the moisturizer only occasionally, but I do use it under the primer), and I don't have any problems. I only use about the size of a large pea of the Korres primer. That covers my entire face and neck (sometimes a put just a little dab extra to get the rest of my neck, but usually it's the right amount).

because of the silicone free nature of the primer, it may be interacting with the Moisturizer you are using. I have found that with this particular primer, it works better without a moisturizer, just clean dry skin. I do a moisturizer the night before, then wash prior to makeup application.

I have a very oily T-zone, and I use this product in addition to my moisturizer or sunblock. I also have super sensitive skin that guarantees a breakout within a few days of trying something new, but this seems really mild and while creamy, it's not too oily. I have been using it for a few weeks and I've had no breakouts, not even red bumps (in fact, I've been breaking out less), and I feel like my skin looks great. Good luck.

I have problems with adult acne and this product has not aggrivated it at all. I have been very pleased. It is moisturizing without being greasy. Since it has no silicone, which is what clogs pores in most primers, it does not seem to be a problem, even in the hot humid summer weather. Use sparingly, though, a little really does go a long way.

You don't need to use a serum or a hydrating cream with this. It's too much. If you insist, then just use this AFTER the serum and BEFORE the sunblock. No cream. Just use a small quantity, because crumbs will form. A little goes a long way. It's a powerful anti-wrinkle treatment.

I can't answer that directly but I can say - and I am VERY fair living in sunny southern calif., that if you use their powder foundation - that powder itself will provide an spf 30 due to its natural ingredients.

I think it would be a bit much to have sunblock, primer AND foundation -- seems like a lot of layers of stuff to me -- but that is my opinion only.

If you are not using a foundation with sunblock, you should probably put your sunblock on first.

You first need to resolve your acne problem before you use this product. An all-organic vegan diet, and a no alcohol, smoking or drugs lifestyle will help. Antibiotics only cover up the problem temporarily. Reduce stress if possible. Yoga would help with that.

Use only all-natural products on your face that do not clog the pores. The Korres line is great for your case. Maybe you should try the KORRES
Pomegranate Mattifying Primer instead. However, you can't mix up antibiotic treatments and sunblocks with primers, foundations and creams no matter how natural they are, it will all become a mess and it will only result in clogging the pores even more.
Wait until your treatment finishes and then cleanse your body inside out with the right nutrition and the right products.

I have acne on my chin and by my hairline in a couple spots. The first day I wore this I did break out more but I attribute that to this being a PH-neutral product and my skin was just not balanced. Yes, it can.
Although, it depends on how oily your eyelids are. Have you looked at Urban Decay (not sure if that is vegan).
Or, you can use a cream eyeshadow thats close to your natural skin color as a base. I do. It works for me because I know its a product meant to go near my eyes and it holds up throughout the day without creasing.

I dab a little Dr. Brandt 'No More Pores' on my nose to minimize the pores on my nose, it's the ONLY thing I've ever found that works to really do the trick. But it is not a primer for the rest of your face, you only use it where you need to minimize, i.e. your nose. It is well worth the investment when you see the results. And you can reapply during the day if needed to freshen up. Cannot say enough about both products.

My skin is oily and my pores are large on my cheeks and my nose. I love this product as it makes my skin smooth and fills in little areas that are troublesome. I would give this a try, I think you will like the result.

Covers fine lines really well! It even helps with my deep frown line. I don't have really large pores on my nose, but it definitely does cover the ones I do have. Really worth the money in my opinion!

I too have large pores around and on my nose. Although it does not completely eliminate the appearance of the pores, I do think they are minimized
