Clarisonic Opal® Sonic Skin Infusion System

What it is:A sonic device that enhances the effectiveness of products applied to the eye area and an antiaging eye serum optimized for sonic infusion. What it is formulated to do:The Opal Sonic infuses serums into the skin more effectively than manual application. As the device is moved in small circles around the eye area, its soft applicator tip delivers products with more than 7,500 gentle micro-massages per minute. Serums and creams are absorbed more deeply and evenly, enhancing their ability to promote healthy, hydrated, and younger-looking skin. The included Anti-Aging Sea Serum is optimized for the dynamics of sonic infusion. Its multilayered approach includes marine extracts and botanicals to provide multiple properties including: hydration, firming, smoothing, tightening, and antioxidant protection. If desired, the Opal can be used with your favorite eye product. This set contains:- Opal Sonic Infuser - 0.5 oz Anti-Aging Sea Serum - 2 Replacement Applicator Tips - Universal Voltage Charger What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic Fragrances- Synthetic Dyes- Petrochemicals- Phthalates- GMOs- Triclosan What else you need to know:Developed by the lead inventor of Sonicare(R) and the Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing system, the Opal integrates into your eye care ritual seamlessly: use for just 30 seconds around each eye. According to Clarisonic, after four weeks a noticeable improvement in skin's elasticity will result. After eight weeks, fine lines and puffiness are visibly reduced and eyes appear brighter. The Opal Sonic Infusion System is dermatologist- and ophthalmologist-tested, rechargeable, and gentle enough for daily use.

I have tried it with other creams and serums and I have had the best results using daily and using their serum.

There is really no reason why you couldn’t use your own serum. The sea serum seems to be a great product. But if that doesn't work for you or if you have an allergic reaction to it, I say try your own, Sephora sells so many great serums to choose from.

I'm assuming you can use other eye creams but you would have to put them on yourself not press the botton on the side to release the correct amount. I use their serum and mine. Is it overkill??? Who knows. I just want the lines to go away!!

The Opal Infusion System can only use the Anti-Aging Serum Dispenser Caps which is a 90-day supply when used for one minute, twice a day. Hope this helps!

It should be safe because you only use it on the exterior of eye area. If she can apply eye cream, she can use this tool.

I am not a doctor, but since you don't use it over your eyeball I don't see why it would harm it. You go around your browbone and underneath the eye and up to your "elevens" creases if you have any, but not one the eye itself.

You have a danger zone for ANY eyes shown in the instructions. I have lens implants and I use this device 2X a day. Never had a problem. Just be sure to follow the directions. I love my Opal!

I watched the him do a presenation as well and yes - he said it was developed and intended for the eye area ---and then added it can be used around the lip line where skin tends to thin with age. However, he did point out it was designed specifically for and intended for use in eye area. So, he did add that small disclaimer if you will. (DUring the demo they actually did the back of a hand as well ---impressive as well!) I have and love the Opal.

I'm sorry, but the Sephora staffer who wrote the answer was given bad info. I watched the creator of this on QVC (yes it's available there too), and he said it can be used for around the mouth too. Basically anywhere you have fine lines you can use this. You can watch part of the presentation on QVC.com.

The Clarisonic Opal Sonic Infusion System is designed for puffiness and fine lines and wrinkles in the eye area and is designed to be used on the eye orbital bone and cheekbone area which meets the eye orbital bone.

The other Clarisonic brushes are designed for the rest of the face, and the Clarisonic Plus can also be used on the body.

Right in the body of the description on the main page for this item it says, "The included Anti-Aging Sea Serum is optimized for the dynamics of sonic infusion. Its multilayered approach includes marine extracts and botanicals to provide multiple properties including: hydration, firming, smoothing, tightening, and antioxidant protection. If desired, the Opal can be used with your favorite eye product. "

Although it extolls the virtues of their own serum, there is nothing in that statement that precludes one from using whatever serum you prefer.

Question
The eye gel/serum
Can someone please comment on the gel that is used with this? I have trouble with 90% of the eye creams I have tried. They all burn, make my skin drier, cause redness, milia, or all of the above! My skin is not very sensitive but my eye area must be, many products with raves burn me. I love my Clarisonic and this is very intriguing to me, and I would like to know if anyone can comment on the serum/gel. Thanks!!

The serum used is a sea-serum. It has willow-bark in it as well. Probably the best idea, is to visit your local Sephora, and have them do a demo on you, and see if you have any reaction.

They can test it on your eye-area. Hopefully, you will be just fine, because you will love it!

Before buying any refills, try using a good anti-wrinkle serum from once of the better companies. I like Olay's and Neutrogena's. I've also used Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc.

Don't waste your money on buying this $100 refill when you can use something else with the machine. They probably will say you won't see results as with the original serum, but I didn't see any decrease in any eye wrinkles, dark circles, or wrinkles around my lips using this product and their serum provided for 2-3 weeks.

I get Botox every 4 months and used the Opal. I did return mine though because I personally didnt think it made an ounce of difference. Immediately upon doing it the skin looked a little tighter but actually made the underneath of my eyes look more crepey by the end of the day. Im just sticking to Botox and a good eyecream.
