My Opal broke after 5 uses. It took me a while to take it back to the store. Sephora exchanged for a new one. I did use the serum while I was waiting to find the time to return, and I did like the serum. My concern is that it did break (expensive !!), and I find that if I really rubbed in the serum, the results were about the same (it plumps up your skin, and really rubs it in). Not sure you really need the machine. Perhaps just using your fingers to really work it in is the way to go. Good serum though. One of the best eye creams I have tried, and a decent price at $65 for 1.7 oz

I have never had any problems doing a return to Sephora if I am not happy with the product. I keep my receipt and packaging until I am sure i love the item. If not I am sure that Sephora will give you your money back as they do not want anyone unhappy with their purchase.

Sephora's 30-day return period still applies. Everyone seems to love or hate this product after a treatment or two, so 30 days should be plenty of time to determine whether or not it works for you. Returns are free, of course, so it's a no-risk test period.

No, they only advertise it for crows feet, however it is fine to use for any fine lines on your face. Dr. Oz recommended it recently on one of his shows and they suggested using it anywhere on your face with fine lines.

mzfrias - there is nothing that precludes one from using a different serum than Clairsonic's own. Right in the body of the text for the main product description on this site it says, "The included Anti-Aging Sea Serum is optimized for the dynamics of sonic infusion. Its multilayered approach includes marine extracts and botanicals to provide multiple properties including: hydration, firming, smoothing, tightening, and antioxidant protection. If desired, the Opal can be used with your favorite eye product. ."
So they very explicitly state that you CAN use your preferred serum if desired.

Of course you CAN use it alone, but it's more effective when used with an eye cream, just like any other serum. Serums work on a molecular level and reach further than creams.

I'm not a professional, but I do own this product and do not use any other eye creams in conjunction with the serum. The serum works fine on its own and I don't think a secondary cream is necessary. You can apply a secondary cream after using the serum, but do not use anything but the serum on the Opal Sonic.

I'm not a dermatologist, but I would think that you can use another eye serum (not cream) as long as the molecules are small enough to penetrate as deeply as the opal sonic is attempting. It seems that a cream would be too viscous, and would just sit on the surface. Hope this helps!

They do not mention this much, but when I received a survey from Clarisonic about my Opal, they asked plenty of questions about other eye serums I used with the Opal and did I get better results with other brands, this was surprising. All the information I received with purchase, leaned towards only using their eye serum. Guess what?? Feel free to use whatever you want, you may get better results with your favorite!!

I too am allergic to shellfish so I did a patch test on my arm for 5 days and waited. No reaction so onto my eyes it went and I have not had any reaction ( aside from positive results) to the serum yet. Anytime that you question ingrediants and a reaction do a patch test on your arm for a few days. Better to have a breakout on your arm then on your face :)

This is an awful lot to spend for just under eye care. I got a sonic-type facial at a spa once and it felt SO good, and I saw results immediately. (Unfortunately, they don't sell the device.) I'd buy this if it could help my whole face. Is the Dr. developing that? Can you use it for the entire face? (probably wouldn't be aggressive enough though.) I'm NOT talking about the Clairisonic cleansing tools you have here at Sephora, just this one.

No....Not specifically. However, this does work on fine lines around your lips as well. :)

Also, I find that if you dab the serum around your eyes first before turning on the Opal it helps glide and apply the serum more easily. Otherwise you spend the first 10 seconds getting the applicator to glide easily. Just put one drop in the applicator and dab it onto the eye where you will be gliding the applicator. Then turn it on and massage it gently in.

I also like to give myself a little longer massage. Once the Opal shuts off, I turn it back on and massage until I know that the serum is massaged in completely. Maybe another 20 seconds. :)

It's expensive at first but very much worth it if you have dark, puffy eyes like I do!
