Questions & Answers for Korres Quercetin & Oak Antiageing & Antiwrinkle Mattifying Fluid Texture Lotion

Question
Good for blemish prone? Curious about texture...
I loved the smell of this when I tried it in the store, however I was concerned because I felt like it rubbed off. After applying the product on my hand it then seemed to ball up. This swayed me from purchasing. Does this happen to anyone or was it just because it was on my hand and I kept rubbing it in. Also, I was wondering if many people have broken out because of this? I have combination, blemish prone, sensitive skin.

Don't bother with the Dr. Brant pore no more mattifying lotion. I've tried it two days in a row after washing my skin and put it on half my face - after a few hours, both sides of my face are oily. If the Dr. Brant formula does mattify - it's not enough to notice and bother with. I'm still researching mattifying products but I have noticed that proper cleansing and moisturizing keeps my skin less oily than days when I don't do that at all.

I have never had it ball up. I use one pump for my entire face and I wear it under makeup with no problem. I have acne (I am 25 and I've tried everything for it) and I have not gotten any more than usual since I've started using this.

The product is great for antiaging! It does kind of ball up under makeup, so I would only wear it at night or if I'm staying in. But it makes wrinkles disappear! Also smells great!

It actually balled up on my hand as well when I tried it in the store, and that made me hesitant about purchasing, but I decided to take the risk anyway. I had one initial breakout the first time I used it, but I don't know if that was coincidental, because my skin is acne prone on its own. I've only been using the product once a day (at night since I like spf during the day) for a little under a week, so I'm still unsure of the results, but I do like the way it feels on my skin. Make sure to only use a tiny amount, because a little goes a long way.

Has not made me break out, and most things do! I apply after toning and then let dry all the way before applying sunscreen and/or make-up. Once I applied sunscreen immediately and it balled up, but if dry, no problem. Also, use sparingly, I use only one pump for my face!

I haven't had it ball up at all--it goes on in a very thin layer and absorbs quickly. My skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts (usually hormonal), and if anything, this has helped control the breakouts. I use the night cream from the same line, and it hasn't made me break out either.

Question
Should I get this or Dr brant pore refiner
I'm looking for an under makeup product to control oil during the day. I've tried several primers for oil control and can't seem to find one that really works and doesn't make me breakout. Dr. brandt makes a pore refiner or should I try this one.

I don't think this works that well as oil control... I still use a mattifying primer (Avon) over this, and under my makeup. Maybe try the other brand first.

I tried this and it didn't work for me, but I went into the store and upon talking to the staff at Sephora I was turned on to Cosmedicine Medi-Matte Oil Control spray. I love it, so easy to use. I put on my normal oil free lotion, then do a quick spray and then can put on make up and my face is great all day. If I have a warm day and am more oily...then another spray helps. Love it.

I would go for this one because it is all natural, and free of potential irritants. This is the first mattifier that I have ever used that doesn't worsen break outs. I have very sensitive skin and am very pleased with this product. I use it during the day only and use something w/ more moisture and very light retinol at night.

Unfortunately this doesn't have an SPF in it. I think that is one of the reasons the texture is so smooth and nice/light. Every lotion I've tried - natural or not - that contains spf has a thicker, less smooth consistency. I was bummed too.

Question
Layerable on the skin?
Just wondering if i should purchase this product? I'm trying to find a natural toner to use in my daily routine. As of right now it goes a little something like this: Cleanse> Toner> Mosturizer> Primer> Makeup. I'm just wondering by some of the reviews if this is the right toner to use? I'm a little scared because some are saying to use it as a moisturizer and some are saying it doesn;t look great under make-up? will it fit nicely into my normal daily routine or are there suggestions?

I use this as a moisturizer, and though it's light it really works well. My skin is combination/oily so it can't handle layering products and I have the same issue as you that I feel I am just putting SO much on my face. This works great for me though, I use a scrub every few days, wash with the Boscia Purifying Gel Cleanser and moisturize with the Korres lotion and my skin looks great. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by skipping the toner now that I use this.

Hope this helps!

I clense, use the Korres serum, then my moisturizer (Ole), then Smashbox Primer, then my foundation. I've never had a problem. I think it works great. Go to Sephora and ask for a sample of the Korres if you're not sure. It's the BEST way to see if you want to buy it. And since this stuff isnt cheap, thats what I did. And I love it. Hope this helps.

Question
When to apply this
I use a serum after cleansing (Philosophy When Hope is Not Enough). Is this product too similar--ie, would it be overkill to apply both? I am looking for something to control oil under my makeup and my serum does not do this, but I'm wondering if I will be applying too many products! My routine is: cleanse, serum, moisturizer, primer, makeup.

Oil control in a treatment rather than more makeup appeals to me.

Can anyone comment on its ability to moisturize? My skin is on the oily side, but will dry out with harsh treatments or if I skip moisturizing altogether. I use a light moisturizer in the morning. Could I use this in lieu of a light moisturizer?

Hmmm, yes this is a great moisturizer, has an excellent texture and goes on skin great, but it won't provide you with oil control. For that I've been using Sephora's Acne-Fighting Mattifying Moisturizer, it has the same consistency and great application as the Korres product (less then half the price too!), but it doesn't have the great smell, it's unscented, which I also like, but it does mattify, controls oil for hours but is not as drying as you might think (I have very dry, sensitive skin) but it sounds like you use other products for that. I use Clinique's Redness Solutions daily relief cream for areas that might need a little more moisture.

I'm combination skin except for a very oily t zone, and I use this product as my only moisturizer, day and night. Deep winter, I'm likely to get dry along my cheeks and that's when I'll use a night cream a few times a week. For myself, I've stopped using a primer all together. I used a serum prior to this product, and I don't use that anymore either. I look at it as serum and moisturizer in one.

I would use instead of your serum and moisturizer. Your usual routine sounds like product overload but if it is working for you and your skin is responding well I wouldn't change your routine. Get a generous sample and try this first before buying or changing your current routine.

Apply a thin layer Quercetin & Oak Antiaging & Antiwrinkle Oil-Control Treatment to cleansed skin as needed AM or PM. You can use it alone during the day, but be sure to wear sunscreen. We recommend layering your moisturizer on top as needed. If you're using any kind of spot treatment for acne, you can apply it underneath or on top of this product. Hope that helps!

I use Boscia Purifying Gel Cleaner and this Korres moisturizer and that's it. My skin is combination/oily and relatively fair, so I can't layer toner and primer and all that. But honestly, since I put those two products together I haven't felt like I needed those other products. I also use St. Ives Apricot Scrub (from the drugstore- there's a CVS brand version too) every 2-3 days to keep the pores clear since I'm prone to blackheads and have larger pores.

I tried the Korres White Tea Cleanser and HATED it. To the point that I didn't even finish the sample size. I could not only feel that my skin wasn't clean, I could look in the mirror after washing my face and see that the dirt/oil was still in my pores. It didn't do a thing for me.

Hope this helps!

I would think so (but I'm not a doctor)
The box has a list of things it does not contain; it does NOT contain:
Mineral oil
Paraffin Wax
Silicones
Parabens
Propylene Glycol
Ethanolamines
PEG (Polyethylene glycol)
SLES (sodium lauryl ether sulfate)
Synthetic Dye
Phthalates
Polycyclic Musks
Alcohol
Retinol
Animal by-products
Animal testing
Wheat
Nuts

And is produced in a wheat/nut free facility

The package goes on to say that yes, there IS:
Fragrance

It is pH-neutral and vegan appropriate.

It comes in a glass bottle, too; so no BPA :)

This product is definitely safe for use in pregnancy! When I was pregnant this last year I became very aware of anything I was putting on my skin that could be absorbed. This product in particular is 97.6% natural with no nasties in it. Only debatable item is 'fragrance' - which in most products equals parabens or other equally yucky stuff, but not here. All of the Korres products should be ok during pregnancy. A few do have methlyparaben (natural paraben found in blueberries), the milk cleanser for one has it I know, so it just depends how picky you want to be.

It does seem to help my makeup last longer (probably because of its oil controlling capability), but you won't notice the same matte, smooth appearance that most primers give. This product seems much closer to a moisturizer than a primer in my opinion (but that is by no means a bad thing...it does wonders for my skin!!)

Question
Can I still use this if I don't need all of those antiaging/anti wrinkle properties?
I was going to get a deluxe shine cream (hair) sample instead of this, but I wasn't sure. My mom told me to get Korres because I don't really need the cream and Korres is organic. But, I'm only thirteen, so I don't need the antiaging properties. Will they have a bad effect on my skin?

Thanks.

You should be fine. The oil control should help with teenage skin! It makes it so smooth and soft! It's a very light texture. You are never really too "young" to use anti-ageing products, as it's more about prevention. (Some anti-ageing products may have too thick of a consistency for skin your age, but not this one.)
