Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm

What it is:A lip and cheek balm that instinctively harmonizes with every skintone for a customized, radiant flush of color. What it does:Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm's innovative formula moisturizes and provides a flushed tint to lips and cheeks. It contains pigments that react with the skin's humidity to create a personalized hint of color to the lips and a delicate glow to the cheeks. Hyaluronic acid spheres bring moisture and fill in the dehydration lines and, by capturing water, these water-soaked spheres swell to increase the volume—thus providing a plumping action on lips and cheeks. Lips and cheeks are lipid-replenished by Luffa Oil, which is rich in fatty acids, and the glossy cream contains a texture with a melting and softening sensation. What else you need to know:This balm is fragranced with the Gloss Interdit perfume.

Questions & Answers for Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm

Does moisture fade as well as color?
Reviewers are saying that the color doesn't last on lips. I'm wondering if the moisture also fades from lips, or if lips stay moist and it's just the color that fades.

Moisture along with color both fade quickly.

The moisture fades before the color does. I find that even if I dab a bit on before I go to bed I wake up with pink lips! If you let it settle on your lips the color will stain. And the more applications the darker the pink. That said, I find it moisturizes fine and doesn't make my lips chapped or dry.

No. Stays moisturized.

The color fades in about an hour, but the moisture seems to last in my opinion. The balm is just that -- balmy. And it leaves your lips feeling just that way. Much nicer subtle shine and moisture than most sticky lip 'glosses'... And it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything... It just makes me feel sexy in a t-shirt and jeans kind of way.

I'm extremely picky with lip-balms because I feel like most of them only put a layer of wax on your skin and once that's layer is gone, so is the "moisturization". This lipbalm is not like this as, even if I eat or wash my mouth or remove the colour, I still feel the effects of the moisturization. I've only found one other lipbalm that works on me as well as this one does, so I'd say it's pretty darn good.
And, this may be due to my dry skin, I personally didn't have any issues with the colour fading, so if moisturization is a key-concern for you probably won't need to worry about fading as well.

It all fades and dries my lips, big disappointment. For good moisture try Bite with Acai (no color, awesome balm, not in a tube but a jar...)

I think it's pretty moisturizing. Certainly more than a normal lip gloss, but less than super-hydrating options c.o. bigelow rose salve.

answer 8
no the pint tint doesn't fade at all. I wear the rosebud salve under this balm and my lips look great all day

answer 9
It definitely lasts on the cheeks, but the lip color does not last as long. The moisturizing qualities seem to last longer than the average gloss/balm, as does the color.

answer 10
I do know that lip balms come off alot easier than some lipsticks and/or glosses...but this one has enough gel consistency to last for a good while. The color stays...unlike so many sticky glosses that look good in a tube but don't add much color to your lips, This balm does add color and can be used by itself. Also would be really pretty with a pink lipstick. It is hydrating on lips and cheeks but not greasy...if it does come off it's really fun to add more!

How is this compared to Dior Lip Glow?
I have Dior Lip Glow and it also adjusts to you to give that tint to your lip which gives a peachy pink mild tint to my pigmented lips.. how is this comparable? is it more potent? more moisturizing? longer lasting?

I found Givenchy more hydrating. When I used Dior Glow, I had to apply more frequently and the natural pink-ish color soon turned way too reddish-pink. Dior glow also has stronger rose smell in my opinion.

This isn't that moisturizing, it's decent. A drugstore balm might be better. Also, the color is very sheer and the color is very pink which I liked...I especially didn't like that it got a little cakey on the lips, especially if you put it over another product. Not sure how it compares to the other product, but these are the facts about this product.

answer 4
I can't compare this to the Dior product as I've not used it, but this isn't moisturizing and has a sticky, tacky texture - not creamy at all. I also use this as a blush and have to work at blending it into my skin because of the texture. Although the color is a pretty pink on my skin I don't think I'll repurchase.

Is this product similar to Gloss Poetique?
GIvenchy's Les Poetique collection last fall had a gloss that was a "color-enhancer," i was wondering if this product is the same thing or a bit different.

I have been searching everywhere beyond Sephora for the Tangerine color, which was the best for my skin & I loved it for my cheeks & lips, but apparently, despite the fact it sold out rapidly because it was the "trend" color last year, they have quit making it. I suggest you keep hounding Sephora, but more importantly, bombard Givenchy that as a customer YOU WANT THE TANGERINE COLOR BACK & PERMANENTLY! The color works well on almost anuy skin tone. If we all keep after them they will bring it back...but Givenchy is who needs to yea itQ

I have seen the orange color in stores recently- not sure if that is much help, but I would give your store a call to see if they still have some.
