I have the same coloring and really like the red (Lust). It's sheer and buildable, so you can get anything from a medium pink to red. It's a cool toned red and makes my blue eyes pop.

I thought Charmed was perfect with my fair complexion. It's a very light pink, with a slight (not overly so) glittery sheen.

I'm a very fair-skinned brunette too, and I've tried al the colors of this lipstain. "Joy"--the peach color, looks bad with fair skin and so does "Moody"--the deep berry color. "Amused" is much too bright a pink for fair-skinned people--it made me look like a clown!
Depending on the occasion, I would choose either "Charmed"--a light pink that very well compliments fair skin tones, "Lust"--a classic red that's ideal for special occasions, or "Enchanted"--a rose color that gives you a more natural, earthy look. I hope this helps you!

I don't have the product right next to me, but the one I bought is the glossy one and the color of the "pen" is orange: when you put it on it's a natural pink-peachy color, really nice!

A nice brownish pink would suit you well, without looking too harsh or dark. One of the Tarte lipstains (I forget the name!) looks like a plummy color, but when you put it on your skin it appears as a nice rosewood color -- not too dark. Try it. THe Tarte lipstains are REALLY good.

Break?
Did anyone else's break? The tip of mine broke in the first use, and I barley put any pressure on it. I also got one in the matte and that one broke an inch down inside the tube after 1 week of use. Is this normal?

I have 2 of these lip tints, I have never had a problem until low and behold I am using it for my sisters wedding makeup and it broke all the way at the bottom and landed on the floor. It was gross and had pieces of dog hair in it but I had to still use it because I had no time to make it to Sephora to exchange.

answer 2
If you look on the tarte website there is a lot of people who have had that problem. I would try exchanging it through sephora or calling tarte's customer service. I think the "pencil tip" is a little awkward for the lips. It would be better just to have a round tip from the get go and not stick out so much at first. Im always afraid Im going to knock it off accidentally!

I never had a problem with mine breaking, but my sister decided to try to pull the twist up thing on the bottom, thinking it was a double sided pencil. The whole thing came out, but I was able to just put it right back in and it still works fine. Maybe you should try exchanging it for a new one?

i have not tried it, but i would guess this product would work well for that purpose. though the tarte cheek things are water-based and this has other "moisturizing" ingredients in it, so i can't guarantee you wouldn't break out. but my guess is that you would be fine.

I only use lip productsa on my cheeks when I really really need to =- otherwise, my feeling is why intermingle germs? Lips/our saliva/mouths hold a lot of germs, so personally I would NOT recommned EVERY doing this, with ANY lip stain, even if they have the word "cheek" on the label for dual-purpose...My dermatologish agrees.

You just twist it up for more product (like a normal lipstick or stick lip balm), no sharpening required! The very tip will get flat after use, but the diameter of the balm part is small enough that you don't have to keep it in a point for precise application.

The closest color to nude lips is probably peaceful, but as with all the colors, it can be darker depending on how many swipes you use, so don't use too much! You might think charmed is close too, but trust me, it doesn't look natural at all...learned that one the hard way(:

honestly i would get them both and play around with them. they can layer for more pigment or go on sheer. so neither should be too dark unless you want them to be, or too bright and they are both such awesome colors. i use both on set (i'm a professional makeup artist) all the time on all skin tones (and sometimes i even mix em)

These colors are naturally sheer, but layer really well to increase the impact. I own the coral and have medium tinted lips and absolutely love the results... kind of like I just ate a orange popcicle and it left some color behind. It would probably be a really nice subtle pop of color on you!

This product isn't going to hide your natural lip color, it's more translucent than opaque so I imagine that your natural lip color, like mine will show through. I have the color in Joy which is and orangey coral that leaves a hot pink stain behind, my lips are naturally more pink though, so if they weren't maybe the stain would seem to be a different color. Also I just applied it to check and if you have a mole, or slight discoloration on your lips it is still visible. But I like the product because it seems more "natural" looking than regular lipstick, and because it works with your natural lip color.

answer 6
As this item is a stain as opposed to a lipstick or gloss, it is pigmented enough to provide coverage enough to tone down your natural lip color.

It can also be layered as needed for more impact and color payoff, and Joy would be a good choice for a nude lip for your needs.

Question
For the lipstain product which would give a caramel skinned woman a pinkishreddish lip color?
One that isn't too glossy and light ( such as the light pink )
I have a Hallee Berry Skin tone, but going to college in the fall, I want a tone that I can wear everyday and isn't too dramatic.
I guess I want a tone that's a bit reddercoral-er than http://inthemakeup.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/jagged-lashes.jpg ...but only a bit.

So what would you recommend?

This is a good solution. Just a single thin layer will give you a hint of coral pink (I would check out the different shades to see if any of them are appealing). This would be good for daytime and for going out at night, just hit your lips with a couple more layers for something more bright and bold.

Enchanted... its a neutral buildable rose tone. I also have the coral color and enjoy that one too. They can only be applied heaviily or lightly depending on what kind of an empact you want. And since they're sheer, they will look diferent on every girl's lips (pics up your own color).

I'm olive toned and enjoy both of the above colors for work (office) and play! Enjoy!
