Question
Okay for dandruff prone hair?
I get dandruff in the winter time unfortunately, and I was wondering if this would be bad for my dry scalp?

on Pronto Dry Shampoo

Speaking as someone who gets flakes from dry scalp, this dries my scalp out even more and makes the flakes worse. This makes sense, since it's absorbing the excess oil that would otherwise be helping to moisturize my scalp. However, I don't have a problem with it causing them to be more noticeable; you can rub it into your hair without your fingertips actually touching your scalp, and let it do most of the soaking in itself. By the end of the day when I brush my hair before bed, I'll notice that it has dried my scalp out more, but I don't have an issue with increased flakes.
If all else fails, just try it out! Sephora has a great return policy and if you can't make it work for you, you can always bring it back.

It's not bad for your hair per se but because it is white, you need to rub it in thoroughly to avoid looking like you have even more dandruff. But it actually will probably help with your dandruff problem because having a dry scalp only gets worse when you wash it more, and this will allow you to go longer in between washes! Hope I helped!

In my opinion, this product is best for an oily scalp. My sister has very dry hair (never gets oily) and she hates dry shampoo. I have fine/oily hair and love it. I think it would be too much for a dry scalp and might cause your scalp to flake more than usual. Hope that helps.

Personally I wouldn't reccommend using this product for someone with dandruff that's caused by a dry scalp. It is a powedered product and you have to make sure you brush your hair very throroughly so that it doesn't settle on your scalp. It may be a good idea to contact your usual hair dresser, who is familiar with your hair and seek their advice as well. Good Luck!

Dry scalp and dandruff are two different conditions. I have dandruff and this product works great for me - note: I don't have dry scalp though.

I wouldn't use this if you are struggling with your dandruff. I struggle with the same dry scalp issues-and unfortunately this made my head itch more. What I have been doing if I want to skip a wash is washing my hair one day with a really good dandruff shampoo and then just conditioning the very ends of my hair-I let it air dry and then the next day it's still fresh. The roots are not oily because I didn't condition them the day before and I try not to put too many styling products on it that first day-maybe just a light spritz of hair spray to keep it in place. Hope this helps! : )

I get dandruff too, but surprisingly, since I've been using this product regularly, I haven't had it! If I get lazy and don't use this product and don't wash my hair, my dandruff starts to come back. I've heard dandruff can appear from too much oil...

Okay, I get mild dandruff too, and what i noticed was that since Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is a POWDER, you have to drop the powder on your hair near the roots, then either rub it in or use a comb to comb out the roots (otherwise it leaves a white residue).
I noticed that my hair had visible flakes in it after doing that (especially after the rubbing part). I don't even have that much dandruff but i get small visible dandruffy flakes in my hair and that's when i use the Oscar Blandi after not washing my hair for two days or so.
If you have dandruff, i'm assuming a dry powder shampoo isn't for you... you should stick to the sprays because you don't have to rub in the sprays

I get flakes in the winter too and the best way to get rid of flakes is the cleans your scalp. At least was you hair every 2-3 days to keep the flakes away.

I could certainly see this product being bad for your dry scalp, only because it is a white powder base (almost like baby powder) and that may just enhance the dandruff, especially with the fact that it works best when rubbed into your scalp. You might want to try the dry shampoo spray! I hear it works great also

to be honest, i'm not sure about dandruff-prone hair (my hair is kind of thin and a little dry, but i'm usually ok as far as dry scalp goes). this product is ideal for touching up oily/greasy spots, which usually occur after a day or two of not washing your hair and are most noticeable at the roots/scalp. it's formulated without a lot of synthetic or harsh chemicals, so the product itself shouldn't irritate your skin. if you tend to get oily/greasy roots or bangs, i'd definitely recommend trying it out. if you don't love it, remember that sephora lets you return it & refunds your money (even if you use it a few times).
