If you cant make it to a sephora store or urban decay counter to actually swatch it yourself I always like going to temptalia.com or musingsofamuse.com to see their swatches of a product, great photos and reviews. You can also always check out youtube tutorials with this product, or googling stardust urban decay swatches

Having tried on three different colors, I would say that all three were much lighter, softer and subtler on the eye than in the box or online thumbprint. The white blended into almost a non-color (sort of a highlight); the green became a very pretty pale green, and the brown became softer and more subtle. Hope this helps.

The colors that are all listed and shown together (not the one at the top left hand side) are very close to the actual color. The three colors that I have look just like these. The colors are very sheer so when you put them on they are lighter than they look.

I'd go to a Sephora store & test the Stardust shadows in order to tell the actual color. I almost purchased online without testing first but then had second thoughts. I tested & ended up purchasing two I would not have bought (if only going by the color online) and I did not buy the color I originally thought would look great with my eyes.

The Diamond Dog is a medium neutral brown with olive tones. Very natural and the sparkle is more subtle than you'd think. Great with hazel eyes and probably most eye colors. The Bobby Dazzle is a neutral highlighter for my light skin. I haven't tried any others but maybe this will help someone.

Well glad you asked because I am a mom of a girl about that age, so I will give my recommendation. Obviously, if she is "young" you'll want to start her out with a subtle shade, that is neutral enough to wear with everything.
URBAN DECAY has 3 beautiful shades that would work well. Uzi, which is slightly silver toned has a great sparkle. Cherry, is the lightest of pink and Blunt is a great neutral tone. The Sephora line has Carine, a very light pink, California Blonde, a nice golden shade and Aspen, which will basically add a nice layer of sparkle to her eyes. All these shades are neutral enough to work well and will enhance her beautiful skin tone. These shades are all subtle enough to draw attention to her eyes without making her look overly "made up".

Try the neutral colors, like Diamond Dogs and Space Cowboy. There is enough color and glitter where you're wearing makeup, but you won't look age inappropriate. I'm pretty sure my mom would have let me out of the house with them on.

Hold a folded kleenex under your eye when applying. Also, I just press my finger once or twice on the eye shadow and gently apply on lids. Repeat until you have the amount of color you want. I think using a brush causes fallout. (Of course I always wash my hands right before I "put my face on," to avoid getting bacteria in my products.) Good luck!

I've got 2 solutions for you,
1. Hold a cotton eye pad under your eye while applying or
2. Switch to a "softer" eye shadow brush/applicator. I used to use the traditional eye shadow brush when applying, however found that it made the sparkles kind of fly and land on my cheeks. I switched to a bigger and not quite as dense brush and have not found this to be an issue anymore. Hope that helps.

Bobby Dazzle to me is absolutely beautiful to me.... it doesn't have alot of pigment to it. It does however have alot of glisten.... have you ever seen the beauty of a brand new blanket of snow at night with light shining on it? That is the best way I can describe how gorgeous this color is. I love eye colors and have soooo many, this by far is my favorite of all time....You will see more of the glisten and tons of light reflecting off shadow. You will definately get what you are looking for in Urban Decay Bobby Dazzle Eyeshadow, trust me...I don't know anything about Dior's eyeshadow, but really I think once you try this you will be hooked... but don't forget to use your eyeshadow primer first..... And the price can't be beat..... Good luck.

Hi,

They're different. You might want to check them both out in the store side by side, to find the one that will do exactly what you need it to do. The Sephora consultants are always pleased when customers compare one brand to another, and have encouraged me to take one tester over to another tester to compare brands. They can also advise you once you can see both products together.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Bobby Dazzle is more of a silver shimmer in a slightly white, bust mostly clear base. It's great for a shadow topcoat or a sheer super shimmery lid (see pic), but not for an opaque white. So if its opacity that you want, go with the Dior.

Stardust eye shadows are glittery. Really glittery. Deluxe shadows are larger. Urban Decay eye shadows are the regular line of shadows. They have a variety of finishes. I suggest reading the description of the color. They also make matte shades. There are only a few. They are called matte eye shadows on most websites selling UD.

answer 3
The deluxe shadows have more of a velvet texture and a satin finish where as the regular shadows have more variety because they come in matte, glitter/shimmer, and velvet. I've found the deluxe shadows are more true to color, they go on pretty bold just as you see in the package while the regular shadows range from sheer to full color. And when you throw the stardust shadows in the mix, those are way more shimmery/glittery than the other shadows UD offers, but the glitter payoff in these is very fine so it's not chunky or large flakes of glitter like in Midnight Cowboy for example. The color pay off on the stardust ranges, if you use a large fluffy brush it can go on very soft, but you can always pack on the product with your finger or denser brush to get more color and shimmer to show.

Deluxe shadows have really fancy packaging and are a pretty good sized. The silver coin packaged shadows are essentially the same in quality - just different colors and less of that lovely fancy packaging. The matte shades contain no shimmer. These Stardust shadows have a lot of product in the package, and contain an incredible amount of shimmer. They are truly the most glimmering shadows sold in Sephora (in my opinion).

UD eyeshadow is just their regular shadow- some do shimmer more than others.
UD Matte Eyeshadow are all matte colors- absolutely no shimmer.
UD Stardust Eyeshadow is very sparkly.
UD Cream Eyeshadow has a bit of a dewy look to it.
UD Loose Pigment Eyeshadow is a loose powder that has a bit of sparkle to it- make sure you don't have too much on the applicator or you'll get some on the rest of your face.
UD Deluxe Eyeshadow is super pigmented and goes on much brighter than the other kinds.
I've used them all and they're all great!

The great thing about this eyeshadow is that it is pretty sheer so the colors are very muted unless you want them to be more dramatic (apply them with a wet brush). Any of the brighter colors (atmoshere, retrograde, griffith) as well as some of the muted colors (bobby dazzle, space cowboy) would look amazing. Just as warning though, atmoshpere is pretty dramatic, it's beautiful, but it isn't as sheer as the others.

If you have darker coloring, you would look great in vivid, bright colors.
My favorites are purples, wines/pinks, and turquoises. These colors when using quality products, applied in a professional way, will make the most of your coloring and draw attention to your beautiful eyes. Also eyeliners that are those shades are great too. Blue eyeliner when used around the eye will make it appear bigger.

Question
is this a good deal?
Seems a little pricey. Maybe its not because there's alot of shadow packed in.
What do you think?

No, not a good deal. Too pricey and not as good as the other UD shadows.

It might seem pricey but I assure you it is well worth it.....also just a little goes along way....really it lasts a long time. I just bought my second one after about 6 months! Remember to apply lightly!

It is expensive but you dont need a lot and you get a huge amount of shadow, I have a ton of colors but I use the dark purple the most, I have had it for a year and have barely made a dent in it :)
