Inner rim.........
I am on a major hunt for an inner rim eyeliner. I have used every and I do mean every inner rim liner at Sephora. NONE WORK. Has anyone tried this as an inner rim linner. If so, did it last? Please, please help me!

Yes I have used it as an "Inner Liner", however because it is a liquid it is hard to initially get it on because it mixes with your tears quickly. But if you do get it on without touching your tears, it DOES stay...but NOT as long as it does on the outer eyelids.

i wouldnt do a liquid on inner rim. urban decay 24/7 liner didnt cut it?? works great for me. i usually swipe a concealer brush in a finishing or make up powder then right along the inner rim to keep the liner in place.

Yes, I just tried - it did not work for me. I use liner every day on my lower, inner lid, and just on top for special occasions. This wouldn't even stay on the inner lid, and smudged right into my eye, leaving black crud and making my contact lenses sting.

I wouldn't use this for an inner rim liner, it's really best along your upper lid/lash line. I've not used this for the bottom lid as much because it doesn't stick as well there.

I've had good luck with the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner. I've never found another eyeliner that doesn't disappear immediately, or worse, end up in smudges under my eyes. This one is really easy to use and it lasts longer than anything else I've tried (even 10 hours of staring at a computer with watery eyes followed by a 2 hour sweaty acrobatics class). Sometimes it's even tough to wash off at night, but I see that as a plus!

Liquid liners are not for the inner rim of your eye. You need a pencil and typically one that is not waterproof...because they may irritate your eyes. MAC makes great liners...so does makeup forever. Urban Decay 24/7 liners are great too, but not sure about the inner rim since they are waterproof and have some shimmer.

Question
thick lines?
Finally an eye liner formula that truly is waterproof! However, the tip of this pen is too thin that I'd have to go over my liners several times to create a thicker line. My liner would be jagged or the thickness wouldn't be even with the other eye. Would anyone know of an eye liner with the same staying power but a thicker pen tip?

I don't know of any other liners that are thicker. However, I've tried tilting this liner to the side so that when you're drawing a line on your lid, the thicker part of the tip touches your lid instead of the very tip, which gives a thicker line. Hope that helps.

I truly love love love this product, but if you really want a thicker tip I'd try the Calligraphy pen from Hourglass. That one is not as black though.

Benefit has their magic ink eyeliner that is SUPER black, but it is not in a pen form.

Shiseido makes an eyeliner pen with refillable cartridges. I used to use it and as I recall the brush is a bit thicker. However, the ink isn't quite as black. You might try that though.

For Thicker lines try holding the wand/pen slightly on its side instead of straight on or using just the tip. You are correct that you could also go over your line until thicker...as for the lines on each eye not being even...try using a disposable dual ended make-up cotton swab (Q-Tip) like they have in the store, just use the pointed cotton end and moisten with a little water and "Touch up" your lines. As for another product that is similar but with a thicker brush? I know of NONE, but surely would like to know? Even though I adore this product!

With my stila, I do have to go over lines repeatedly to get a thick, dramatic look. I would suggest getting a cream liner or a regular eye liner stick. My favourite eye pencils are by Nars and clinique.

I don't think this eyeliner is the right liner for the water line its more of an on the actual lid kind of eyeliner. I've tried to but it on my water line and it really doesn't show up and eventually fades from the water line you should probably look into a different liner if u want to use it in your water line. This eyeliners is great for a cat eye look.

Question
Is this "splashing around in a pool" worthy?
I've been looking around for an eyeliner that's easy to put on and can hold up to going swimming. Something that would be good for camping or a water park even. Could you put this on before swimming around in a pool and have it look half-way decent when you get out?

I bought stila's waterproof brow tint, and was very impressed. I need to basically draw eyebrows on everyday and was worried about the water. Now I'm looking for eyeliner and mascara can can hold up to water as well. Thanks for any input!

It really depends on your skin type I have to say. For me, I have oily lids and usually liquid eyeliners that I've tried from the drugstores and other high end products have always given me raccoon eyes because of my oily lids. With this product, it stays kaput. I've worn it out in the rain (I mean like raining cats and dogs without an umbrella) plenty of times and I've never had a problem with it smearing or running down or anything. But I've never used it while in a pool. This is just my personal experience with it and it says what it does, its waterproof and long lasting. Hope this helps!

absolutely! I wouldn't steer a sister wrong. I can't help on the mascara, but this stuff will not smudge, even if you wipe the towel across your face. In fact, you might find it a little tough to get off at night, so bring a good makeup remover. Carbon black is awesome. The gray is great, just a little more subtle if you're trying to make it look like you're NOT wearing makeup.

I have allergies and mess with my eyes constantly. I had noticed with NARS and Buxom that the inner corner of my eye would be void of makeup/eyeliner by lunch time. I have NOT noticed that to be true with the Stila eyeliner.
Now mind you, when my allergies are in full blown attack mode and I rub the heck out of my eyes, the eyeliner does end up coming off. But I really can't fault Stila for that. Normal eye rubs or touches and you should be fine!

That's not my experience, but I have drier skin, so perhaps someone with oilier skin experiences that "bleed over". It dries quickly and then I cover it with powder shadow. I have applied some cream shadows over this eyeliner, so of course that's going to loosen or smear it. If I plan to use cream shadow, I use Laura Mercier's Caviar Stick liner/shadow. If I plan to use powder shadow, I use Stila's liquid eyeliner.

I always steady my hand with my other one while applying liquid liner to get a straight, even line. There is no need to shake this one, as it it like a felt pen. It doesn't dry out because it has a locking lid that snaps into place. If you want a thicker look, I suppose you could apply more than one coat, but I don't think you will need it. This stuff stays put all day and doesn't smudge or fade. If you are used to using liquid liner, it will be a piece of cake to use.

I don't know about swimming, but it really stood up to sweat! Just make sure you don't start off sweaty when you apply it, or have sunscreen on. When I had lotion on my face, it tended to bleed a little from the oils in the lotion, but on clean, dry skin, after it had set (about 20 seconds) it seemed to stay on no matter what I did. I wore it all night dancing, and it never ran or flaked.

A pencil in my opinion is best for your waterline and for smudging and creating a smokey eye. A gel liner is good for your lid but I find it begins to flake and fade out as the day progresses. A liquid is also good for your lid, I would go with a liquid liner that has a felt tip instead of a brush so you can get more precision. Hope this helps ;)

I would say pencil is easiest to apply, but usually more easily smudged. Liquid eyeliner are usually more smudgeproof - the stila one, at least! However, stila was the first liquid eyeliner I purchased after using 2 years of eyeliner pencil from Make Up Forever and I found it quite easy to apply!! Hope this helps :)

I've used them all, and it depends not only on what kind of look you are going for, but also the applicator. For different looks: Liquid (my favorite) tends to be more defined, pencil easier for smokey eye looks because it is smudgeable, and gel can be used for either. Gel is harder to get defined line out of though. As for applicators, look for a sponge-like or felt-tipped applicator for liquid, pencils tend to dull quickly, so find one that doesn't, and for gels, use an angled eyeliner brush.

I have a hard time applying liquids... I think they are definitely the most difficult. A good pencil is easy to do basic eyeliner. I like the gel pots for cat eye--- they are easier to apply to me than liquid. Just depends on what type of application you are going for: natural-- pencil, dramatic- gel pot-- that is how I do it.

I don't like the pencil. I prefer the gel liner. Many years ago I always used the liquid liners but then they stopped producing them. I see they are back but the felt applicator is hard and not as good as a brush. So unless they come out with a brush applicator on the liquid, I'll stay with the gel even it it dries out. Tip: If it is drying out, add a drop of oil, like Argon, to it and spread it around. It helps.
