Yes. This product is oil free. If you've got oily skin, I definately recommend using a primer before the foundation. You may still need to use blotting papers throughout the day - depending on how oily your skin is. This make-up line does not clog pores or cause break-outs.

I use Fair foundation in the winter and use regular mineral veil during that season. As I see more sun in the spring I switch to tinted mineral veil or mix the two. My foundation color is Fairly light to Light in peak tan season. I don't get really dark compared to other people, but dark for me. I don't think you would want to use the tinted mineral veil in the winter months though.

I have fair skin with serious olive undertones, and it did not work for me. Ask for a sample at Sephora. Try it; it may work for you.

I have pale skin, and while the tinted color looks really dark in the container, I think it looks great when you put it on. It's definitely a summer look b/c it does make you look a bit tan - but I don't think it's too dark on me or fake-looking - it just looks like a nice, natural glow.

Use the sheer formula rather than the tinted formula. Even though I have an olive complexion, the tinted formula is too "orang-y" for me (too "umpah loompa, if you know what I mean).

It can, but Prime Time works better. It will smooth out your skin a little when used as a primer and helps the foundation go on a little better, but it won't be a dramatic improvement.

It's not a primer- it works over your moisturizer, foundation or primer. That's what I was told in the store. If you put it on before moisturizing your skin it would probably feel just really dry. The untinted formula is great. It just blends right in with your skin tone, leaving a soft, matte-like (but not dry) finish to your face

I live in Oregon, where the sun rarely shines, I travel to the sun as much as possible. I find that mineral veil alone is not enough when tanning or when in and out of water. If I'm just around town dashing to and from my car I wear spf foundation and spf mineral veil. If I'm tanning, swimming or boating. I use a lotion with a higher spf and apply my foundation and mineral veil over it. I may be over doing it, but skin cancer runs in my family and I'm usually pastey white the first few days in the sun. (Sorry can't give up my tan completely even with cancer risk. Bad I know.)

Yes, you can, but not if you are swimming or too sweaty. If I am going to be outside all day, I use an SPF 40 suncreen underneath and the bareMinerals foundation and SPF 25 Mineral Veil on top. Also, I wear a hap or visor when possible. If you want to reapply the bareMinerals SPF 25 Mineral Veil, I would suggest blotting the skin with blotting paper and then reapplying bareMinerals SPF 25 Mineral Veil.

I have found that this product does not interfere with my foundation or eye make up. For some reason, I have always added blush after applying MV - don't know why. I use only a slight amount of blush.

YES - it is a great touch up product BUT it isn't the most portable. The SPF is fantastic and will not mess up your make-up when applied through out the day.
Depending on your skin tone - pale/fair -medium use the original. The tinted could be used as a light bronzer so it is more suitable if you are already a bit tanned or if you lean more towards the medium -medium dark, dark skin tone.

It has definitely helped me. In the summer, my husband and I ride the motorcycle a lot. I keep this in the refillable brush and touch up every time we stop to stretch our legs. I would not use this as a sunscreen. I'm very careful with my skin, so I use an SPF 50 sunscreen under and then I use the BareMinerals products. This recommendation comes from my doctor and his nurses. I live in a tropical zone, so the sun is quite strong. Take care of your skin!

This one is the original, which gives a soft sheen as if your skin were bare. The matte would give a matte finish if that is what you are after.

SPF MV is not the matte finish MV, but I have not noticed any shine when using this product. There is another that has some pearlescent or opalescent material that does give a slight glow or shine. That may be the one. I didn't like using this one alone, mixed it with the regular, and it was okay. Try a sample.

I use this mineral veil over the matte foundation they carry. I think the results are perfect. It is not glittery or frosty. It looks very natural.

I know the make-up comes in both shine and matt but to my knowledge the mineral veil is sheer or tinted. The tinted is dark for fair to medium complextions.

I have used this MV as a finisher for cream under eye concealer, and it worked well. In the summer heat, there is little that will keep cream from "melting" after a long day.

I think this powder would work well to 'set' your cream foundation. It covers 'shine' without completely matting your skin tone. There is an almost imperceptible glow. You will will glisten without looking like a vampire!

I believe it would be great. It's very fine and as good or better than the setting powders included with many concealers. I even mix it into my eye concealer so my eyes have sun protection.

Tinted veil is more tinted than you realize. It would only be something you'd want in summer with a tan. If you don't like it, Sephora has an excellent return policy! No problems.

I think it would be okay. The purpose of the veil color is to make sure it remains sheer on top of your other make-up, and not to add color. I think the tinted color is just extra insurance for those with darker skintones. Of course, your best bet is to get to a Sephora (if you can) and try it out first. If you can't, and for some reason the veil isn't so sheer on you, you could always wear it under your other make-up. If the color is off, it won't be that obvious to others.

I can't tell any difference between the original formula and this one as far as use and application. I can tell a difference as far as sun protection is concerned.

I don't find much difference between the original and this. I bought this for the added sun protection. I too was not thrilled with the matte foundation. My skin like the original foundation better. I am loving this mineral veil with the added sun protection. I only use a light dusting all over after I have applied all make up - foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush. I think the dusing on my eyelashes helps the mascara cling.

I think it works just as well as the original version of mineral veil with no breakouts noted. I like that it has the spf 25 as added protection.

I also prefer the original BE. As for the spf mineral veil, how many spf products do you really need to apply each day? Although they are in the same size jar, the contents in the spf product is about half that of the non spf.

There is a big difference with the Original and Matte formulas, however, I don't notice any difference with the Original Mineral Veil and the Mineral Veil with SPF 25. It seems to have that same "finishing touch", but with the added benefit of protection.
