answer 1
This is more of a sticky, (but still smooth if that makes sense) thick gloss than a balm.

I think the rosebud salve is more hydrating.

answer 3
Both the Smith's Rosebud Salve and this eventually dried my lips out, but this was slightly more moisturizing than the Rosebud Salve.

answer 4
I found this to be much more moisturizing! The SRS tends to dry my lips out after I use it for extended periods. The buxom balm keeps my lips nice and soft and a little bit plumped up too.

answer 5
I honestly believe it's more moisturizing. I really enjoy the scent a great deal more than the Rosebud Salve as well.

answer 6
I would say a little less, but it's got a little shine to it, so I prefer it when I go out. I use the SRS all day everyday.

In my opinion, and we all have different tastes. I live in Northern Wisconsin, we have the most brutal dry conditions and we heat our log home with wood, - it does not get any drier than that... this has been a treasure for me, and I find to work the best of all of the lip balms, and I have a junk drawer of the most expensive ones full of useless, sticky, non-healing ones full. Give it a try , you can't be disappointed, I went out and bought the pencils and the lipbalms and the ones for using as just a lip color after trying the lip pencil...that was that healing !

answer 9
It is a little less moisturizing. Rosebud salve is definitely for smoother lips but the Buxom gloss is just to look pretty.

I find this more moisturizing and for longer than Smith's resoebud salve. While many adore it, I'm also not a big fan of the Smith rose scent (though you can get their products in strawberry, etc) and I find this buxom gloss much more enticing- the colour is so sheer is it a similar product. Plus, there is a mirror in the lid. For the price point, if you adore Smith's and love the scent, you may want to stick with it as you can use in on your cuticles, etc.
